The N64 holds so many memories. It’s what I grew up on. Under my basement stairs growing up, we had a crawl space. This was my gaming area with my friends. We stacked pillows and blankets down there, hung up Christmas lights, taped up Nintendo Power posters and had a spare little TV down there. After scrounging up all our pocket change, selling Kool-Aid on corners, and digging through couch cushions, we’d buy a pile of snacks, grab some sodas, and play the heck out of the 64 all day. We spent plenty of hot summers down there playing Mario Kart and Goldeneye. Those were the summers I’ll never forget, surrounded by my childhood friends, huddled around a TV, playing N64.

I was a late bloomer in discovering the N64 library. Back in 2012 I first searched on craigslist and found a lot, the system, 4 controllers and 50ish amazing games for $110 dollars!!! This very young kid (maybe 14 years old) who lived in this very upscale/rich neighborhood needed money for some summer camp and his parents wanted him to pay for it. So he chose to sell off his collection. Not knowing much about the market, they were just old games to him. So I walked out of there with some amazing titles. I showed my roommates at the time when I got home and we had Mario Kart nights and Mario kart parties and we had a blast playing that, super smash and goldeneye. Such a score and worth every penny.

The greatest memory that I have in regards to the N64 is honestly a story that’s come full-circle to my life now. My dad and I used to play games together constantly when I was growing up, and one of our favorite games to play was Road Rash 64. As time went on, we really didn’t play games much together anymore and then he got deployed to Iraq in 2009. Last year, I reached out to a cousin of mine because I thought I remembered my mom giving my N64 system and games to them after I stopped playing and sure enough, he still had it. I offered to buy it off of him, but he just gave it back to me. Fast forward to me setting the system back up for the first time in 15 years and looking through my old games. I call my dad in when I finally get it working and ask him if he remembers the game on the TV. He says, “of course” as he grabs the other controller and we start playing Road Rash 64 again for the first time in over a decade. The amount of joy I felt that day, even at 21 years old was something to behold. Thus is why the N64 will always have a special place in my heart! Great video!

First memory with the N64. My cousin had the ps1 growing up and I was so jealous of him. I was 7 years old and I didn’t know much about video games nor did anyone in my family and my dad knew how much I wanted the PS1. Well on Christmas 1996 or 97 I was surprised to get the n64! I was stoked! I previously owned an Nintendo (snes) and so when I saw a NEW “NINTENDO” I was in shock! I didn’t know what this entailed. The 2 games I got were unknown to me, They were Zelda ocarina of time and 007 Goldeneye. My dad on Christmas told me he heard these games were the best of the best (He doesn’t know a single thing about video games but he got that right! Haha) I came to fall in love with the n64 and that’s why I’m a such a sucker for NIntendo now! Thanks for all the videos keep it up man!

So, so impressive the flipping skills you're putting to use here. It's fascinating to watch fun games go for the sake of funds, but it works together so well.
