I love these with your. Commentary because you go through the process of how you decide on a price which can be very difficult and intimidating for a new seller. This was perfect imo
Ohhh, interesting about the Cornell postcard! I live in Ithaca and we have several little antiquey shops where I come across so many Cornell postcards and I never know which to grab. Same with yard sales and that sort of thing. I came across a curbside free pile the other day with a lot of old maps of Cornell campus. Neat find.
The video was so full of information, I watched it twice. Plus, I literally laughed out loud when you said the dental school scene was your worst nightmare and that surely no one died. 😅 I’m pricing cards for the upcoming Wichita Postcard Club show in October (shameless plug) so it’s really helpful to hear about your research and pricing logic. Thanks!
I sold a postcard with a Cornell fraternity fire from 1911. That was years ago, I forgot what it sold for. It's on worthpoint, but I don't have a subscription. Maybe $40 ?
They caught on fire pretty frequently apparently. The high dollar one is from December 1906, those have gone for hundreds. The one I sold was from 1909.
Thanks! I figured I was saying it wrong. I don’t have any set time when I lower prices, every couple months I’ll go in and look at everything over $50 and adjust it lower if I think it’s not selling because it’s priced too high.
I only actually have best offer turned on for maybe 20-30 of my listings that are higher priced. Many of the offers in this video (all the ones that were like $42.46 or whatever) are offers I sent to buyers. I usually only add the option for the buyer to make an offer when something is priced over $100 or I’m not sure at all of the price.
Absolutely! In fact some collectors prefer used postcards. I got a message the other day that said “I wish this one was used, but I’ll buy it anyway.” Normally the only cases where a postcard being used takes away from the value is if the image on the front is affected (such as by writing or a heavy postmark).

That would be amazing!

This is awesome, thanks for sharing with us!
How long do you wait before lowering your prices on postcards that aren't getting any bites?
Oh, and Yarmouth is pronounced "yar-muth" where the u is like "uhhh" lol. 🍁

@@mailseum very cool. Pricing is what I struggle with the most lol
Another great video! Do you recommend having best offer? It seems like you sell a lot that way.

Crazy I never knew this world existed. Do used post cards sell?
