One note. These were Ruthenian dumplings(pierogi ruskie), not Russian dumplings! Ruthenia was part of Poland for many centuries. Their name comes from the name of this region, and not from Russia. The word "Ruski" has become synonymous with Russian in everyday language. Therefore, a wrong translation.

@@Bufflunch its not opinion, its history :-) From 1596, under the Union of Lublin concluded between Lithuania and Poland, Kyiv was incorporated into the Crown of the Kingdom of Poland. In 1648, the city was seized by the Cossacks headed by Bohdan Chmielnicki, but in 1651 it was regained by Janusz Radziwiłł. The Pereiaslav agreement of 1654 completely changed the course of the history of Kiev, on the basis of this agreement, Kyiv and the left-bank Ukraine were handed over by Bohdan Khmelnytsky to the Russian Tsar
I ate at this restaurant, when I visited Birmingham a few years ago. Amazing food. Great service and beautiful surroundings. I wish there was a Polish restaurant like this where I live in the West of Ireland.
We get so happy when we hear from people who visited the restaurants on our channel and were so glad you had a great experience like we did. Thanks you for commenting and watching 🙏🏽❤️
☺☺☺☺ we are very very glad that you enjoyed the food and the hole atmosphere and thank you a lot for the very nice recommendation of our polish food. And bon appetite next time you try the polish cuisine.
There are still ribs with herbs, sausages, black pudding, bigos, pyzy with greaves, proziak, sękacz, pancakes, bread - real bread baked on a cabbage leaf, 70% slivovitz for better digestion, etc. etc.. But I am convinced that all this There is plenty to eat in the inn, but it wouldn't fit on the table. In addition to the Inn in Birnigham, we invite you to Poland, I know an Englishman who came to Poland to party and drink hectoliters of beer, and he fell in love with food and, above all, Renata, that he stayed in Poland, he has been living for about 5 years and speaks Polish he says, the fact that when he drinks, the Polish language is perfect for him ;))))

I have been there many times, they change their menu from time to time going with seasons so you won’t eat heavy dishes in summer. Its great because you can always find something different to try. Food is really great and you will get a full plate 😂 I think I only ordered dessert once, every other occasion I was too full. I definitelly reccomend going there.
Yes they told us that they change their menu based on season but the portions were so good and honestly the food was out of this world. That you for watching. 🤓👊🏽
Ha, ha, Polish cuisine is one of the best in the world, but it is not known because it is not advertised and people do not know it. The reason is as simple as the construction of the flail. For centuries, Poland fought for freedom and did not have the head to advertise its food. It was only after some 30 years that the world began to come to Poland and the world was surprised to discover that there is good food in Poland. I am always amused when foreigners in Poland discover that Poland is a high civilization and life is better than everyone thought.😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

The red borscht is in a cup with two handles because it is a drinking form for croquettes and the borscht is clear. There is a form of red borscht as a soup with small dumplings, which is most often eaten at Christmas.
Bad news everyone, the Karczma has closed for good. If you Google the website you will see why but it's basically down to the cost of living crisis and some local issues. I was lucky enough to eat here once and loved it. My only regret is I took it for granted and never thought it would close. I love this sort of food.
The dishes despite their names are typically Polish: Greek salad, Ruskie dumplings, Tatar hering, Bretania beens, Ukrainian barszcz The reason of their names sometimes is expresed by roots where they come like Ruś region (not russia) The part of old Polish lands or by othere reasons sometimes funny. But that dishes are Polish
😂😂 we try to record the footage very quickly and get through the dishes so we genuinely taste them at their best but sometimes it does get a little colder than we would like but regardless, the food was absolutely amazingggghh. 😝😍 thanks for watching. 🙏🏽
I'm Polish and unfortunately when I was there the food was not good at all and really overpriced for what it was. I don't mind paying more but the food was purely not good. Perhaps they had a bad day in the kitchen 🤷🏻♀️ You can eat better food at many other polish restaurants at cheaper prices. My friends also tried their food and said it was not great and also expensive. After this we may give it another try.
