@Leslie Ya, when they were talking about the garbage pile getting bigger and Jared said it was "gaining ground" pointing to the dirt pile and Bryson laughed, that was priceless. Jared fits in so well!

Why does Jared make me think of an old man soul in a young body. Maybe it’s the glasses but he totally reminds me of my grandpa. I mean that in the nicest possible way. I loved my grandpa.🥰

This trio is magical Bryson, Bullet, and Jared. I love how Bullet kept trying to contribute his stick to enhance the structure of the additional foundation work. The cuts of him staring longingly at the stick tug at my heart every time, so much so that by the end I think I was yelling THROW THE STICK, MAN! Throw it! ok just nudge it a little. here's the stick. Bullet loves the stick and you will too! :D The two fellas with all of the double-entendres is excellent practice for future dad-jokes! Bryson's "Wow" at 2:27 in appreciation of Jared's ringer made me lol and still does. That's like a huge award Jared. GG!

My grandma was an accordion player. When I was a kid we would beg her to play it for us, so I have always had a soft spot in my heart for the accordion.
There is a foam that is used to repair under foundations.

Great job Bryson and Jared at saving the walls on the out buildings. Those really needed some help! They should be sound now. Good idea pouring under the walls with concrete. Too bad some of it had hardened but you got it to work in the walls anyway. Some cool garbage you found too! Bullet just couldn't stop helping. Too bad he doesn't bring you guys pieces of rebar! You guys might like to consider some expansion joints in your slabs when pouring them in the future. Clearly the temperature extremes are enough to warrant them along with real foundations as well hahahaha
Hava Nagila. Love that you have a Jewish celebration song playing on your workday video. You are young and healthy and able to perform the tasks needed. Definitely, a reason to celebrate. It is also a way to honor the parents who raised their children with the knowledge to do such things.
concrete creates consistency, packed soil can be consistent too. pack it!
I suggest a tear down and Please rebuild it. You just added 5 - 10 years if you're lucky.

the Shop needs a table, the table needs a surface to work on, under the table should be a massive bell style mass for another rocket mass heater, with pockets for keeping tools warm. a 4x4x4 lump of toasty warm goodness all winter long.
Seeing the video with the layout of the walls, I have to revise my thoughts, 4' wide' however tall makes sense for you guys (custom counter top height is fantastic) by 8' long. The extra mass for the huge space plus you top can now be any old piece of plywood so its easy to replace when needed.
There's a device called a "Dolly Pot" used when reducing aggregate to sand and finer. way better than the brute force hammer time.
You guys teamwork is the best
Dryer concrete mix is stronger and harder, but getting it to flow that far under is cool. You'll probably wanna break up that weak part of the floor and pour your better sloppy stuff in there!

If you are going to use heavy equipment on the slab in between the current buildings. I would recommend a 10-inch minimum or better 12-inch depth slab with rebar. Then you could even use a power hammer if that ever comes into any plans. Heavy-duty matching tools will need that same depth too.

Wow! I'm so late to see this, but thank you so much for this episode. We have a small 'office' in the back yard and we want to expand it, but have been a little daunted by the idea of meshing old v. new foundation. This was such a visual and practical exposition of a how-to. I'm feeling much more confident about our tentative plans now. Thanks so much.

one other thing you can do is do some small drill through holes and then expanding foam to fill gaps. They use that to fix slabs and sidewalks when they sink

My entire yard was like a landfill. Anytime I would take out random cement slabs or try to plant the pile of trash was as big as the pile of dirt.
