My sister sent me a video of a parmesan grilled cheese and I just had to try it. I was watching my 3 year old son that day so he helped out. We had a great time and some amazing results. This video is sponsored by Aunt Millie's Bread. I used there artisan white bread and it was fantastic. very soft, perfect amount of chew and most importantly my son liked it.
Here is the original video I got the idea from: • This Grilled Cheese Ha...

Proud Dad moment my man heck yeah!!!
It definitely was. Thanks William.
Great video. My heart melted when your son leaned into you. He loves his dad for sure. And that grilled cheese looks like I'm going to give it a shot. Thanks for the entertainment.
Thanks so much I'm glad you liked it. And yes I'm very lucky to have a nice little boy. Definitely give the grilled cheese a shot, I think it's worth it.
Time spent with your children is the best time spent!
Warmed my heart.
Tha ks Tony, it was really fun making this video.
You are a bad ass dad, well done! Cheers from Indiana.
Thank you so much.
“That’s a little too much Parmesan I think”. Proceeds to tap some off and then right back in the cheese. Loved it. Your assistant was the star of this video. His perdiem is doing to go up to 10 grapes in the bowl. Don’t let him unionize😉😉😉
Thanks so much, he definitely stole the show for this video. And yes I definitely gotta watch out for a union 🤣🤣🤣🤣
What a great helper!
He sure is, I'm lucky to have him. Thanks for watching.
You and your little helper nailed it Johnny! He is priceless.....and a dipper too!
Thanks buddy I really appreciate it.
Definitely trying this on my indoor electric breakfast griddle. I only have romano so I'm trying that lol but this is awesome idea.
Definitely too cold in Michigan. Got a little heat wave was 35 today 😅😂
Ya you should give it a try for sure. We're the same here in Ohio. Almost hit 40 on Thursday, I thought about putting shorts on 🤣🤣🤣
Looks great! Your son does pretty good in the kitchen.
Tha ks Dale! Ya he's been learning a lot.
Great job! I laughed throughout the video. Give your helper a high five and a hug from all of us, he was great
Thanks so much and I'll definetly give him a hug and a high five.
Howdy Johnny and Liam, man Liam is growing fast hard to believe he is three already. He is a great assistant making sure the sponsor's products are front and center. Liked your tagline engraved on the knife as well. Since the heat wave has come to SW Ohio might have to give this a try for dinner tonight. Your Mom and mine have the same tomato soup recipe. Have A Day! ;~)
Howdy buddy, ya he sure is growing fast I just can't believe it. He's been a great helper and it's so fun to cook with him. Glad our families have the same tomato soup recipe 😁😁😁
😂 "we can take the script down"
What a good helper!
Looks good, I'll have to add it to the list.
😁😁😁 thanks so much. Definitely give it a try.
Good video Johnny love the fact that you are teaching the next generation of CHEFS ! The tricks of the trade. Your videos get better with everyone . THANK YOU FRANK FROM MONTANA....
Thanks Frank! I try to reach him as much as I can.
Love how you talk to your son like he is another adult. He will grow up to be such a polite child……and one who knows his own worth!!
Thanks, a few other people commented on that. It's not something I do on purpose or ever thought about. But I definitely hope it has positive benefits. I appreciate you watching.
This is important in early communication development. Good job Johnny. Wonderful family you have there and another entertaining video. Thanks!
@@oregrown thank you so much.
Precious little boy. Enjoy your videos.
Thank you so much.
That is a great sandwich I will give a try. You have a good assistant helping out.
Thanks Guy! Ya I'm really lucky to have such a great assistant.
Loved this video, Johnny!! You are obviously a great father! I haven't seen that sliced cheddar/gruyere cheese in any of the grocery stores I have access to out here in BF Western Kentucky. I will have to try this sandwich ASAP. The little lady says Gruyere is her favorite cheese. We get it in blocks and I use it to melt over the top of my made from scratch French Onion soup. I don't grow the onions though.
Thanks Danny I really appreciate it. Homemade French onion soup sounds amazing. That's probably my favorite soup.
My fav cheese is smoked Gouda, but $$$.
My fav soup is FRENCH ONION too!
The drawback to homemade onion soup is that it takes probably all of an hour to caramelize the onions to the dark golden brown color needed. But in the end, it is more than worth the time. I will dig out my .pdf recipe and email it to you. @@JohnnyBrunet
@@dannybarton940 that's be great!!! I would love to give it a try.
Great job Johnny and food critic. Can’t wait for your next collab.
Thanks so much Jerry!
LOL. My mom used to make her tomato soup the same way....Campbells! LOL. You are a great Dad. (loved that light-hearted background jingle music)
Thanks I'm glad you liked it and could relate to the soup 😁😁😁.
OMGOSH! He's the most adorable sous chef I've ever seen. And him snuggling and saying I love you? Heart melting. You and your wife have obviously done a great job raising this little bundle of joy. And that grilled cheese looks amazing. Snowing here so I might just have to make it since I have all the ingredients. Great job as always and thanks for sharing.
Thanks Lisa. We're very lucky to have him and enjoying our time with him. I hope you do give it a try I really enjoyed it.
Awesome video Johnny!
Great way to start the day off right... with a big smile and new idea to make a different kind of grilled cheese sandwich. Thanks man!!!
You're welcome John. I'm glad you liked it and that we could put a smile on your face. Have a great day
Thank you, Johnny. Using your griddle technics on my cast iron skillets have made all the difference. Now, everything turns out perfect. I couldn't have developed that skill without you.
You're welcome, I'm so glad that I could help.
Now THAT'S too cute! Love Liam helping! Downloaded the recipe. Can't wait to try it! I'll have to see if my 38 year old tells me he loves me! The artisan bread looks really good too! Oh, love the knife!
Cheers!
Thanks Dennis! I hope your 38 year old also tells you that he love you lol. Definetly try the artisan bread.
Awesome video! I'll try it in a few days. The most important part is that you are making memories for you and your son. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks! And I agree the memories are the best part.
Looks great Johnny great video nice seeing ya get help. Made my morning sir.
Thanks! I'm glad it made your morning and yes I'm lucky to have such a good helper.
You sure have one heck of a side kick there. Great job as always!!!
I sure do, I'm very lucky to have him 😍
Your Nana made us open face grilled cheese made in broiler with a big slice of tomato.
But I think adding parmasean sounds yummy
Nana always knew how to make it better.
Thanks Johnny …… I can’t get over how Your Son is sprouting !!!!!! Enjoy these Years as they DO “ Rocket 🚀 “ along !!!
GO BUCKS 🎉
Thanks Brian! I'm trying to enjoy them as much as possible. I know I'm going to wake up one day and he'll be a lot older and it makes me sad to think about it. So we cook together as much as we can.
That is a wise move Johnny ! We are all so busy with day to day tasks ….. and Life Flies past. Relish these years and invest in that relationship with Your Son.
The rewards will be 100 - fold !!!!
Thanks for the recipe and video ……
See You in the next one 🎉
Brian
BUCKEYES 🌟🌟🌟🌟
Another fun video, Thanks! All of Aunt Millies breads are great, but my favorite is seeded Italian. I live not to far from one of their bakeries here in Plymouth Michigan and when they are baking the smell is GREAT! Thanks again for the video.
I still haven't tried the seeded Italian yet. I'm going to get that next time. I love the smell of fresh baked bread I'm jealous of you.
I really enjoyed the relationship you have with your helper, invite him more often.
Thanks so much, he's a great helper and I'm lucky to have him.
Incredible video! Don’t worry about always cooking on the griddle. This was very informative and I will be trying this!
Thanks so much. Glad it was helpful even if it wasn't on the griddle.
From one dad to another, you’re doing it right! Great video!
Thanks man I really appreciate it.
you know if a 2 yo is eating it like a boss it has to be good. what a good assistant. He showcased all the ingredients and showed us how the bread can be enjoyed after breaking it up into a bowl. then he helped you eat the sandwich.
Exactly, if it's got his approval then it's gotta be good. And he did demonstrate multiple uses for the bread that I didn't even think of 😁😁😁
What a sweet little chef!
He sure is Liz.
VERY CLOSE TO 100 ,000 MY FRIEND !!!
Thanks Frank!
Epic Father and Son cook brother. Sound delicious too.
Thanks so much.
“I don’t have a microplane. That’s not the lifestyle I’m living.” 😂🤣😂 I feel ya, brother. I’ve seen how you prioritize your spending on cooking equipment and beer and I fully support that. By the way, if your son ever starts requesting those overpriced pre-made peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with the crust cut off called “Uncrustables”, I can provide some guidance on how to make them at home cheaply. There was a time when I got really good at making them and they were just as good as the store bought ones for a fraction of the price. Excellent video!!!
Oh ya I'm definitely not buying those for him lol. If he ever starts requesting them then I'll have to get your recipe. Thanks!
Nicely done! Your son is adorable😊
Thanks Bobbi!
This video melted my cold, dead heart 😢
Lol thanks.
You are a funny guy and I always enjoy your work. Great kid and sandwich.
Thanks so much.
That was such a cool video Johnny! Funny thing cuz last night I made grilled cheese sandwiches. I use ketchup instead of tomato soup. I'm going to have to try the parmesan method sometime. That looks pretty dang good.
Thanks man I'm glad you liked it. Definitely give the part a try.
Johnny, I love your work! much success my friend, I like to toss cheese in the skillet/ flat top. and set the Grilled Cheese sandwich in the melted cheese. Both sides,, the Guitar grater is awesome !
Thanks buddy I really appreciate you watching. That's a great idea with the cheese on the outside.
Johnny it's a good thing you're bringing the boy up right the only different thing I would have done butter mayonnaise then parmesan and I would have skipped the oven but it's too cold to use your talents on The griddle but that's the best thing you can have with tomato soup we were raised on that😊😊
Always great to spend time with the little ones and to show them how daddy does it Now i see you have the quote on the knife, when can we get it on a T-Shirt???
Nice video and GRIDDLE ON DUDE.
So true bruno I love spending time with him. It's not T shirt weather yeet so give it time lol.
That looks really good.
Fun to watch. Got a 40 degree day today. Took full advantage. Did 2 lbs of bacon for the week. (Always good on grilled cheese) supposed to get 6-8 inches tomorrow, so that's a step backwards!!!
Thanks mane! ya you gotta take advantage of those 49 degree days when you can. Man good luck with that 6 to 8 inches. Thanks for watching brian.
Awesome video brother….super cool on the little helper and the grilled cheese looks bangin
Thanks so much. I'm glad you liked it, and ya he's a lot of fun to cook with.
If it was half as good as it looked it would have been fantastic...... The helper made that sandwich well worth the price (priceless).... Good Cook Johnny btim SW Pa.
Thanks Tim and yes it was priceless. Just a great day of cooking with him. I appreciate you watching.
As always, good video. Thanks for keeping it real.
Thanks Paul!
The boy is awesome !
Thanks so much.
That was adorable!
Thanks Kristin! I appreciate you watching.
I love making these grilled cheese sandwiches. I dont use as much parm cheese as that. LOL And i always put oil in pan to get it extra crispy. One other thing i do on occasion is grate up a small amount of cheddar and put right on the sliced cheese. Yes we call it $$ gourmet $$ grilled cheese. What a beautiful video with your son. Thanks for sharing and God bless.
Thanks Bryan those are some great suggestions. I think I may try some more oil next time. I would have liked a little more crisp. I appreciate you watching my friend.
I have been sprinkling Parmesan cheese on my grilled cheese for 35 years. I put it on the griddle and flip it over like a standard grilled cheese. Sometimes just one side. I go cheap with the shaker. I will have try freshly grated..
That's crazy a lot of people have said the same thing and I had never done it. I'm glad I know now. I always have the same stuff on hand. I'll have to remember that next time. Thanks Mike.
Johnny you still never done the perfect Monte Cristo on griddle that I requested I hope in the spring you can do that. Thanks Johnny
Oh man I'm sorry Ross I totally forgot. I've never made one before, so I don't know if it's be perfect. Might be a lot of happy accidents lol.
I could not love this more
Thank you Scott.
That looks fantastic! How can you go wrong with those two cheeses
Thanks so much Clint.
I love you both, thank you !
Thanks so much!
Great vid - always fun to cook w/ the kiddo! GLAD TO SEE the TOMATO SOUP! 😁
I do this with mayo on course bread (Brownberry Natural Wheat & Rosen 9 Grain) using course pre-shredded parm from walmart & provolone & motz inside + some course salt (the italian cheeses are bland) in just a frying pan. The mayo is more gooey so the course cheese sticks nicely to the gooey mayo & mayo melts faster than butter so it is a good combo, but WOW that butter & micro-grated parm looks really NICE.
That sounds like a lot easier way to do it. I'm going to give that a try as well. Thanks for sharing buddy.
@@JohnnyBrunet - someday / maybe - AFTER you make pure cheese tortilla KETO taco shells that we talked about 20 videos back!
Jus' sayin'... 😉
Nice video Super cute helper
Thanks Randall.
I’m probably twice as old as you and my mom always used your tomato soup recipe.
🤣🤣🤣
another awesome video.
Thanks Ty!
Great video. And it's always nice to see the younger generation helping out. Even if the attention span is a bit lacking 😅
However, my Dutch side feels compelled to say that you need more cheese.
Glad you liked it. And hey you can never have too much cheese right?🤣🤣
That is a awesome cheese grater 😬
Nice video. Sandwich looks really good. I was impressed as well that JB Jr. did the dunk. You should reach out to VEVOR to see if they will send you an indoor griddle to review.
Thanks, and ya that's a great idea.
I would LOVE to see JB get a VEVOR!
AWESOME VID!!! Your son reminds me of when my kids were little. They're 18, 20, 22, & 24 now. 😢 Not quite as cute. 😅😂 Waiting for Grandkids some day. ❤ I was just thinking that the price of Grapes and Fruit Loops were kinda inflated the other day. 😅 Have an awesome week my friend.
Thanks Shawn, I don't want to think about him being 18 :(. Hopefully you get those grandkids soon. My parents love being grandma and grandpa. Have a great week.
Mom used to make tomato soup from scratch that way also. Burnt cheese on a cheese sandwich - what could be wrong with that?
Love to see your son cooking with you.😅
Glad we had similar upbringings 🤣🤣🤣. Thanks I really enjoyed shooting this video with him.
Looks good Johnny, Your assistant is getting bigger by the day. 🍻
He sure is Todd and I can't believe it. Feels like he just came home from the hospital yesterday.
Looks like a solid sammie. You can never have too much cheese. My doctor actually told me to cut back on the cheese. I now have a new doctor. I don’t need that kind of negativity in my life.
Thanks buddy and yes, you can never have too much cheese. and I support your doctor decision lol
Adorable ❤❤
Thanks.
Wow, what an idea! I guess grilled cheese and tomato soup can be football food tomorrow..
Thanks chuck, definetly give it a try my friend.
Wonder how it would be using pre grated parmeson ,may have to try it,nice video
I'm sure that would work too! I'll have to give it a try.
LOL worth every penny!
Thanks buddy.
Do you use milk or water in tomato soup
Whatever is on hand.
Johnny Brunet: I'll try anything once. Next sentence: Hold my beer I want to try something!
Great video Johnny. It's on my list!
🤣🤣🤣 thanks Mike.
You know Bacon Grease is way better than Butter for a Grilled Cheese Sammich :)
I'll give that a try, sounds amazing. I'm always looking for a reason to use more bacon grease.
Awesome video! Give mayo instead of butter a try, more crisp!
Thanks Tom I'll give it a try.
Great video! In 10 years, this might be one of your all-time favorites! In six years, maybe your kid will be sharing a beer with you! Ha ha ha just kidding
🤣🤣🤣🤣 ya I think when I look back I'll be very happy that I made this one. Thanks for watching.
Try Progresso Tomato Basil soup, you will never go back.
I'll definitely give that a try. Thanks.
Nice grater
Thanks my sister got it as a gift.
Cute kid brother... awesome video... $15 for a grilled cheese.... not bad... try shopping here in canada.... that brick of parm is nearly $10 + brick of butter $8, loaf of bread nearly 5$. .. good thing I work for canada bread and get my bread for free... lol.
Thanks Shane!! Dang those Canadian prices are crazy!
Ha! Cool Video! Rootboy Approved! 🍺🍺🍺🍺🍺
Thanks buddy!
tks
You're welcome, thanks for watching.
Cobalt Fiestaware!
Lol yup, you nailed it.
Way too complicated, we put the sandwich together like normal and even use grated cheddar on the outside and flip with a spatula like normal when cheddar toasts up.
That sounds good! I'll try it that way. Thanks.
