As a Wednesday fan, I think your comments are well balanced and realistic. We have been on such a roller-coaster ride in recent seasons - down then up and stay up in "heroic, skin-of-teeth" style - that we Wednesday fans have lost sight of normal (i.e. boring) football seasons and have come to expect either the very best or the very worst (e.g. Xisco the absolute worst, Röhl the messiah come again...).
I think there is some overhyping for sure, but this is largely down to the fact that this year is the diametric opposite to last, so many are presuming that the results will be too - incorrectly, in my view and evidently yours too, but in the circumstances these fans can be forgiven for believing, and needing to believe, in miracles.
I think Wednesday will do well and stay out of trouble, but might find it hard to get (and stay) in the top half of the table. Many of the older, wiser Owls fans do too, I think, and would be happy with a season of building and consolidation, without too much drama or season-end cliff-hangers.
As for Rohl, yes he could go, but I think that he is here to stay (if Chansiri gives him room and the means to succeed, which he finally seems to have learned the hard way how to do). Anything could happen - and, of course, the most important thing is not to have the nightmare start you mention - but the fact that Rohl already has a very good CV, with German giants and the Nationalmannschaft on it, means he doesn't need to panic and leave with the first half-decent offer.
I really believe that he is here to stay and build and that he knows it would be in his best interest to do so, rather than flit around from one position to another, like, say, Lampard or Rooney. Success with Wednesday for such a young manager would be the best thing he could add right now to his CV and he knows it. He is similar to McKenna, who made the right choice to stay at Ipswich, and knows that in the long-term his value will only increase if he can pull off something similar to McKenna. I would be very surprised, however, if Wednesday manage to do that this season.
I also think that there is a genuine connection with the fanbase, like Klopp had a Liverpool, that makes a big difference for him.
Overall, positive vibes and happiness at Hillsborough for once, and let's not go and spoil that with unrealistic expectations.

Your so wrong mate , look at the form table from DR coming and it’s top 8 , since then we have now got a far better side ! I think you’ll find we will be up there , as long as we pick up 15/18 points from the first 10 games we are going to be right up there , please bookmark this and if I’m wrong you can laugh at me 👍🏻
