How often do yearly back-to-back promotions ever happen? I feel like this is a pretty rare accomplishment, but I have no idea. Over here in the states it sounds similar to repeat championship wins, except maybe even better, since your 2nd is against tougher competition than your 1st? I want more information on this.
Liam, you are such a great representative of a Wrexham fan - always level headed and well grounded. As much as we wish Rob and Ryan were oil sheiks, they're not and honestly I love that they're using all their creative energy and power to boost this club's potential within their financial means. I'm curious how they will navigate the rising player wages next season.
I love the fact that they're using the documentary series + their star power to raise Wrexham's profile to a worldwide audience, and in turn boost the team so that they don't have to keep pouring cash in out of their own pockets. That's how you know they're here for the long haul.
@@carolewynn9407 Championship wages are around 12-14K a week. I believe the top 10 players at Wrexham make between 6- 10K a week. so I think Rob and Ryan will have to up the wage bill for new transfers for them to even consider Wrexham.
When league one starts, more than half the current squad will be over 30 years old. I feel that next season will be a rebuild season and it will take a couple of seasons to get into the promotion race. Need to get some young players for the future
While I agree, you don't want to do a wholesale rebuild to only find yourself relegated. But with a realistic goal of taking a few years then slowly bring younger players in, keeping your quality older players until the young players will come up to speed.
@@scottsmith8381 Yeah. That was what I meant. A few of the older players will go but they need to build a side that is Championship worthy and they don't have that yet.
This is the biggest challenge they have. The squad had played as a team for two/three years but new and younger guys will need to be added without disrupting the team dynamic.
Every season requires some degree of rebuilding. Also, 30 is just a number. Some 30 year olds haven’t even achieved their peak fitness, while others are past their peak. Must be individualized to each player
Cardiff fan here, i.e., one who remembers some of the great matches we had against Wrexham. Indeed, my first ever Welsh derby was watching Cardiff beat Wrexham 3-2 in the FA Cup at Ninian Park in the 1970s with a last minute winner. Also, some great matches when Wrexham had Gary Bennett as striker. Personally, I think Wrexham's location and your owners' appeal means the club is well-placed for season-long loans from the likes of Liverpool, Everton, Man City, and United. Momentum is everything. Just look at Ipswich. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Wrexham overtook Cardiff and Swansea in the next couple of seasons. Good luck. Enjoy the ride! 👍
Thanks for sharing your story! I agree with your points, and i think that the publicity boost to a young player is also something that will be attractive to clubs. If your 19 year old player goes on loan to Wrexham, not only does he get the experience that you get from any good loaning, but you're also massively increasing how known that player is, if he does well. Known players sell shirts, which will mean the players worth goes up if the parent club ever needs to sell him.
@@AlGorithm-n6q Thanks for being such a good sport! Lots of angry and jealous people out there, glad to see you're not one of them :) Looking forward to meeting you lot in a year or two!

Angeleno here. Been a fan of the TV show for a couple of years, embarrassed to admit I just started following the club. Can't get tickets, merch that fits, and can't figure out a decent travel plan to get to Wrexham. I guess I have to see them in Santa Clara this summer.
@@nicklim6527 I’m walking the same road as you when it comes to following. I was hoping to watch yesterday’s game but it wasn’t televised. Been looking at Merch but haven’t pulled the trigger.
I just randomly came across your channel and I can hear the excitement in your voice. I’m so happy for Wrexham and for you. Looking forward to what they do next season! Congrats! Excited to see more videos! A game day vlog maybe?
I still don’t under the details of English Football, but I love the way the town and the team are so closely bonded. And I love the documentary series and all the stories of the people and the players. Also I work in sports television in the USA, and I think I know talent. You’re going a great job as a host, keep up the great work.
The challenge, as I see it, is that Wrexham will need to increase their revenue in order to buy talent, but with less than 10K average attendance at The Racecourse Ground in a stadium with a max capacity of 12,600 means they have work to do to get to 12,600 attendance. If Wrexham isn't able to fill their modest stadium now what will it take to reach full capacity? And then the longer term question is: if Wrexham are able to remain up at League 1 or are able to move up from there then they will need to either expand the Racecourse Ground stadium or build a new one. And this is where things get complicated. If Wrexham remain at League 1 or are relegated it would be hard to justify a new stadium, but in order to bring in the money needed to remain viable at League 1 or higher they need to increase their income and the best way to do that is with a new stadium with greater capacity and the merch that goes along with that. BUT, what comes first, the chicken or the egg? And, if Wrexham were to aspire to higher level including the Premier then the stadium they would need would be in the 50K range and that is going to be a billion, more or less. If Wrexham were to build a medium sized stadium of, say, 30K the cost would be half or maybe less and such a stadium would likely be enough for all but the Premier. Not an easy path is it!
Great video full of info. You can see your restrained excitement for next season. What a run the team has been on. Who knows maybe team chemistry gets them through. Lots of that at Wrexham
Hi Liam, you’re a great presenter and love seeing your updates on Wrexham. Many congratulations 🥳 on achieving back-to-back promotions, the club and town has thoroughly deserved this success. Onwards and upwards for 2024/25 😁
think we need 2 years at least in L1. Arthur Okonkwo is only 22, young for a GK. Finish the new stand and the training ground! Early days but a "top 12 finish" would be lovely!
Definitely, take it steady for a few seasons & don't get over ambitious with promotion,if we finish in the top 12 teams, then we had a good season, league 1 is a whole different ball game... But, we will need a bigger stadium, 16,600 ain't going to be enough
UK and Welch is getting a Birds Eye view of how American football works and how you get good team. By spending big money, getting huge sponsorship especially in college football you gotta spend money get good players and recruits and it’s working in the soccer here for wrexham.
Earning promotion is wonderful, but I am dreading letting some of the players go (which is needed to improve the roster) because I feel like I have gotten to know them thanks to the documentary. One probable replacement is going to be particularly painful. Not everyone is going to get to make the journey to League One with Wrexham but this group will always be special because of what they achieved. Great content as always, Liam!
How about a video on the history of Wrexham . Like great games in the past, old and new rivals. I am from Canada and dont know the history of old rivals etc.
I would like to see them play Burton Albion, Charlton Athletic and most of all Bristol Rovers. I am willing to wait if Bolton Wanderers go up to the Championship
Leyton Orient fan here, interesting video, Id say from our experience this season, after being promoted from League 2 last season, you'll be in the playoffs with your current squad. You have a few players who are championship level already and most of the rest of your squad is league 1 level. It was no surprise to anyone that you got promoted this year again looking at that squad. You've done a great job in the Non-league building a squad thats capable to taking you up into league 1. Id be suprised if you didnt finish in the top 6.
I’m still watching the video, but I have a question about facility requirements. Ben Tozer mentioned a training facility.. but what about capacity requirements of the Racecourse?
One of the other considerations will be how much can be done in the loan market. Wrexham is not too far away from Liverpool/Manchester, which makes it ideal for sending their rising academy talents. We've seen with Ipswich this season where they got Hutchingson from Chelsea and he's one of the key players for them getting promotion this season.

From Soccer City, USA (Portland, OR), consider my wife and me subscribers to your channel. Excited to see what comes next for Wrexham A.F.C. Congrats on the promotion, I'm a Spurs Supporter but I love seeing Welsh Clubs in the English Pyramid do well, I think you guys will finish mid table in League 1 next season and be in League 1 for a while.
Wrexham FC have really captured the imagination of many football fans. I'm a Liverpool supporter born just down the road from Tranmere now living in Australia. The feel good factor thats running through the hearts of the Wrexham supporters has been nothing but a joy to me. I hope one day hopefully very soon watching Wrexham Fc walking onto the grass of Anfield in the prem. In a game that seems to be about money, Wrexham has been a breath fresh air. Roy Of The Rovers stuff for us older guys and may success carry on onto League One for Wrexham.
Great to the point content. I’m a super casual as a football fan (Southampton). Good stuff. I think you can afford to put in more of your off script thoughts, it’s engaging and genuine.
Just discovered your channel, Liam - well done! I'm subscribing! My goals for the near future for the club are (in no particular order except for No. 1): 1. Sign Okonkwo 2. Shore up the defense and midfield 3. Sign another quality striker to help Mullin 4. We need a new training ground 5. Get the women in the English system if possible so we can grow that side to its best possible potential. 6. Keep promoting this club internationally as much as possible. This has truly become a global club, and that's no small feat for a lower-tier football club. Keep up the great work! Go Wrexham from South Dakota!
Liam this is the first time I have watched your channel l was very impressed with your presentation Good luck Wrexham you will have a lot to talk about next season
First thing would be not being relegated again. A top 10 finish will be fenomenal. Promotion a fairy tale story. Just make sure to temper the expectations amongst the fans. Mainting in league one and steadily build from there is key in long term succes and promotions.
It will be interesting to see what happens with Okonkwo, I hope he signs for Wrexham but there is a lot of interest from European clubs and Championship sides. Arsenal will want to get as much as possible for him and that may just prove him out of the market for Wrexham. I think if we finish mid table next season that would be an amazing result. As much as I would love to see them reach the Championship you have to be realistic. Remembering that the higher you go the more chance you have of coming back down. I think we will lose Ollie Palmer, the distance from home to Wrexham as well as his age, I think could see him leave for Wimbledon, what we do in the summer will make or break us, losing some players that have been excellent for us, but just aren’t League 1 players will be hard but to stay on the trajectory they want to go then they are going to have to spend wisely. Keep up the great content Liam🇬🇧👍
A season or 2 in league 1 will actually do them good. They need to build a bunch of stuff to compete at premiership level, slowing down the promotion advance will help that. They need an academy system, training grounds, and talent scouting. If they go to fast they are going to stall and go backwards.
League one you have to realistically stabilise and keep consistent for this division bring in players over a couple of seasons. People thinking Wrexham will have a chance of winning league 1 are going to be disappointed. Playoffs maybe, but it’s going to be a hard start. Mid table is going to be exciting in this new division.
I watch the great video couple days ago that showed the average amount of time it takes a team to progress until promotion the average amount of time you spend in League one to go to the championship league is something like 4 or 5 years and 6 to 7 years to go from Championship to Premier,
I've been saying that we should sign watt since national league days in 2022, so I can agree with this strongly! Would also get Josh Coburn on loan from Middlesbrough, class 6ft 5" striker 🤩 looking forward to sheffield Wednesday away aswell...
Liam, I’d love to see you talk football in general with the Man U girl fan that only talks about Tottenham on her TH-cam channel.. what a great conversation that would be 🙏
I think a mid-table to top-half finish should be the goal. Wrexham having back to back promotions is fantastic and incredible, but they need to "train" their players in League one to build it up enough to take on the promotion race and the wealth of the other teams. Aiming any higher already is asking for trouble with a squad that is inexperienced with these tiers. Totally agree though, the current squad is brilliant and can go far!
Thank you for the first three minutes. As a german I don´t know your leagues and you just saved me a twenty minute research. I mean that was my big question: Who are the strong Teams in the new league.
Liam any ideas who you’d love to see sign for Wrexham - raggett Cb at Portsmouth , definitely would be an upgrade . Mal Benning at shrews would be worth the money and they are struggling financially . Dan kemp ready made for league one decent striker , could work well with mullin .
With what I saw in the second season of Welcome to Wrexham, where the real profit is in The Championship, league 1 and 2 there is not as much income compared to the second division, but nothing compares to being in the 5th division. Next season I hope Wrexham gets promoted, it would be crazy.
10:30 I am really surprised you didn't talk about all of the sponsorship money that the club brings in. Ryan & Rob splash huge on sponsorship deals if I recall correctly.
Nice videos these past few days! You said the transfer stuff will sustain the channel during the summer, but I'd ask you not to totally neglect those grab-bag news updates every now and then! I love those
Love the story behind Wrexham and wish the team and owners much success you guys disserve it. But do you think the owners can keep up the funding as like said in this video higher you go the higher the cost and if we talk about prem cost its out of this damn world, or do you think they will need to bring in new investors or look to sell the club to someone else? I hope they can do it as I can see Wrexham being the next rags to riches story.
If there is one thing I know about Ryan Reynolds he’s about going for broke and will do everything in his power to get that promotion next year. UP THE TOWN!!!
I’m gonna say they finish 9th next season. Nothing wrong with that at all in my books! You nailed it that there’s some big clubs in League One. Shit starts to get real at this level
Transfermarkt isn’t their wage bills. It’s a sum valuation of their player’s transfer value which is based on numerous factors including what league they’re in. You can find estimations of teams’ wage billls on a few different sights. From those estimates that I’ve found, Wrexham this season, would be in the upper tier of L1 wages. I could be wrong about that, but I don’t think so. It’s not unlikely, they’ll be top 3 for wages next year if they sign okonkwo and replace the likes of Hayden, Tunni, Young, Dalby, etc with L1/ch quality players.
Wrexham reminds me off bourmouth, Bourmouth where a league two like a decade ago, and now they are a premier league team, who knows, Wrexham might make it to the premier league this decade.
Be interesting to see how wrexham gear up for this league. Your club is an anomaly in that it has higher attraction for sponsorship and players looking for visibility platform. Hoping you get straight up to championship to play Swansea and Cardiff.
I don't hate Wrexham,I think they have a good history as primary a 3rd division side the fell down to the national League in the late 1900s I like the fans that have supported there team for years before Ryan bought them I just dont like the fans that only like wrexham beacause Deadpool owns it
So if all games are going to be on Sky and no more ifollow, if we can't afford the subscription to sky and we're unable to attend games then we've no chance of seeing Wrexham play next season 😒
Just another reminder that Wrexham AFC are a League One club 😎

Wrexham FC have really captured the imagination of many football fans. I'm a Liverpool supporter born just down the road from Tranmere now living in Australia. The feel good factor thats running through the hearts of the Wrexham supporters has been nothing but a joy to me. I hope one day hopefully very soon watching Wrexham Fc walking onto the grass of Anfield in the prem. In a game that seems to be about money, Wrexham has been a breath fresh air. Roy Of The Rovers stuff for us older guys and may success carry on onto League One for Wrexham.
Great stuff lad. Well done.
Looking forward to Liam’s League 1 content
So grateful for your channel Liam! Congrats on all your success! From Pennsylvania
This video exceeded your view count and likes expectations. Good job bud!
Great to the point content. I’m a super casual as a football fan (Southampton). Good stuff. I think you can afford to put in more of your off script thoughts, it’s engaging and genuine.
I’m not a Wrexham fan, but their journey has been really helpful for a American like me to understand regulation and promotion.
Just discovered your channel, Liam - well done! I'm subscribing!
My goals for the near future for the club are (in no particular order except for No. 1):
1. Sign Okonkwo
2. Shore up the defense and midfield
3. Sign another quality striker to help Mullin
4. We need a new training ground
5. Get the women in the English system if possible so we can grow that side to its best possible potential.
6. Keep promoting this club internationally as much as possible. This has truly become a global club, and that's no small feat for a lower-tier football club.
Keep up the great work! Go Wrexham from South Dakota!
great video Liam
Liam this is the first time I have watched your channel l was very impressed with your presentation
Good luck Wrexham you will have a lot to talk about next season
First visit to your channel Liam, great content, keep it up
Dude, you're really good. I'm just me but I'm impressed
I'm a leeds utd fan and massively impressed with how Wrexham have done well done and hope you guys have a gud season in league 1 will be watching
First thing would be not being relegated again. A top 10 finish will be fenomenal. Promotion a fairy tale story. Just make sure to temper the expectations amongst the fans. Mainting in league one and steadily build from there is key in long term succes and promotions.
incredible analysis, very thorough
Excellent as always Liam 👏🏻👍
Well done Wrexham… I’m happy for the loyal fans who get to see their club back in the football league
They've really come a long way since their £300K signing of Ollie Palmer was a club record
Enjoy the ride pal, I remember loving watching Hull City climbing the leagues 👍
Hello - Liam - all the way from South Chicago, Illinois.....AWESOME CONGRATULATIONS....You always do a GREAT JOB!!!
Cracking video mate
it's kinda cool that wrexham is having this kind of results it's like rob and ryan are playing some gm mode on fc 24.
Great video mate!
I watch the great video couple days ago that showed the average amount of time it takes a team to progress until promotion the average amount of time you spend in League one to go to the championship league is something like 4 or 5 years and 6 to 7 years to go from Championship to Premier,
ManU fan here. Would love to see Wrexham win League One in future! They are doing well 😎
I've been saying that we should sign watt since national league days in 2022, so I can agree with this strongly!
Dan kemp ready made for league one decent striker , could work well with mullin .
lol 900 likes….smashed it mate!!
Respect your respect for Sammie. He needs to be a prem player next season! Not a Wrexham fan but best of luck my friend!
Congratulations to Wrexham AFC from Kansas!
Nice videos these past few days! You said the transfer stuff will sustain the channel during the summer, but I'd ask you not to totally neglect those grab-bag news updates every now and then! I love those
Looking forward to Reading - just because it’s easy to travel to!
Torcedor do Wrexham aqui do Brasil...❤
Love the story behind Wrexham and wish the team and owners much success you guys disserve it. But do you think the owners can keep up the funding as like said in this video higher you go the higher the cost and if we talk about prem cost its out of this damn world, or do you think they will need to bring in new investors or look to sell the club to someone else? I hope they can do it as I can see Wrexham being the next rags to riches story.
I'm looking forward to Reading away...hospitality suite with the legend that is Glen Little 🏴⚽️❤
Keep up the great work Liam 👏
Great job, Liam
Liam, Do you see Okonkwo staying for next Season? What are the chance that Arsenal will recall him? Thank you!
I’m confident we could get him
Not a Wrexham fan but id love to see them get promoted again next season and the season after again. What a great story it would be.
If there is one thing I know about Ryan Reynolds he’s about going for broke and will do everything in his power to get that promotion next year. UP THE TOWN!!!
I'm so excited!! WFC to the moon!!❤❤
Wrexham getting to the premier league doesnt seem impossible now 🏴💪
Wrexham reminds me off bourmouth, Bourmouth where a league two like a decade ago, and now they are a premier league team, who knows, Wrexham might make it to the premier league this decade.
Be interesting to see how wrexham gear up for this league. Your club is an anomaly in that it has higher attraction for sponsorship and players looking for visibility platform. Hoping you get straight up to championship to play Swansea and Cardiff.
I don't hate Wrexham,I think they have a good history as primary a 3rd division side the fell down to the national League in the late 1900s I like the fans that have supported there team for years before Ryan bought them I just dont like the fans that only like wrexham beacause Deadpool owns it
That's great to know, thanks for sharing.
Would it be right to guess that you refer to yourself as a "proper" football fan?
@@GaraGaraVideo no I don't
@@GaraGaraVideo I started watching 2 or 3 years ago and I'm american
@@lamppost. why did you start watching?
@@GaraGaraVideo a MLS match was on FS1 and I was bored and watched than I started watching more and more
So if all games are going to be on Sky and no more ifollow, if we can't afford the subscription to sky and we're unable to attend games then we've no chance of seeing Wrexham play next season 😒
Peterborough fan here and Clarke Harris would be a fantastic signing! Easily 20+ goals a season striker
