    @RazorWorldwide I bought quite a few scooters made by Razor, one A5 Lux and two A6s to be precise, and overall I liked them a lot, however there is a _huge_ problem with the wheels. Of all 3 Razor scooters I bought, the wheels developed some super annoying squeaking after only about 4 to 5-ish weeks of usage. At the beginning it's barely noticable, but it gets worse and worse over time to the point where it gets embarrassing to keep riding it, especially in the evening or night, when the squeaking is super loud and clear to hear.
    I can say with almost 100% certainty that this squeaking does _not_ come from the ball bearings, it must be caused either by the tire slowly coming off (not visibly though) because the glue holding it on the rim is too weak, if you even use glue that is, or there might be some sort of crack on the hub/spokes that causes it, I'm not really sure either. I just know that this squeaking bothers me a lot and it starts very soon, within only a few weeks of usage, and there aren't even any replacement wheels to buy. Just because of that I'm thinking about buying my next scooter from a different brand, even though I generally really like your scooters. It would be great if you could do something to fix this problem, or at the very least sell replacement wheels for a reasonable price.

    I have an A4 and it's terrible for riding in the city. Do the bugger wheels help with riding over bumpy uneven payment with cracks? Is there any kind of suspension or support to absorb the shock?

    • @visualmars
      @visualmars 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I have the A5 which also has the big wheels, and I live in NYC so I can say that the big wheels definitely help with that. The A5 has a wooden base instead of aluminum so it absorbs some of the bumps. I'd still say that if you're going to do long rides on crappy pavement, wear some biking or work gloves to make it easier on your palms. Hope this helps!

    • @tigresuave11
      @tigresuave11 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      2MSBHVE Thanks, I bought the A5 lux and it's slightly better, but it's leaps and bounds better than Bay area public transit.
      I'd definitely recommend getting one with a good suspension system, if you can afford it, but the A5 lux will get you from A to B (within a few miles), with the least amount of hassle.
      This A6 doesn't look like it's much better than the A5. The locking mechanism seems better, but not much else.

      wish i saw this but if you have really bad pavement you should really really check out the Razor A5 Air www.razor.com/products/big-wheel-scooters/a5-air/
      I ride a razor Dirt scooter with my kids and on sidewalks and stuff with air tires it makes a MASSIVE difference for vibration. The A5 air is like my Razor dirt scooter but with a lower deck and folding ability which is good for commuting.

    No suspension and no rear disc brake, and they're wanting around $400 a piece for these?! No thanks. I'm going with one of the Chinese made dual suspension jobs for about $150. They've had nothing but good reviews, seem to be well built surprisingly and I can't imagine anything better than a super smooth ride from the suspension and a rear disc brake so I don't even have to move my foot position while cruising down hills. Razor need to get with the times.

    Those ultra stiff urethane wheels are a mistake. Sure it's going to help on a surface smooth as paper, but anything else it's going to vibrate like horror - and that's going to be true 90% of time. Scooters should be made with a more flexible urethane material to absorb surface roughness. Before buying one, pass a finger on the street pavement, if you can feel the small stones at the surface of the concrete, buy a scooter with inflatable or even plain rubber tires - stay away from shiny urethane wheels

    • @paulneri835
      @paulneri835 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nah! They are what make these scooters go fast. I bought an A5 Air because I thought I'd kill myself on my A5 hard wheel but it's sluggish in comparison.

    • @Bflo23
      @Bflo23 ปีที่แล้ว

      Use correct rider position and have a very slight bend at the knee. Let your quad muscles act like shock absorbs like skateboarding and mountain biking. Too many people ride with their leg completely straight and knee locked out and that causes uncomfortable riding and knee pain. I have a longboard with nice soft hardness wheels. It doesn't work with two large 8" or 10" wheels because they would wear out so fast vs a longboard where it has 4 small skateboard wheels where the contact is more on the ground, weight is spaced out over 4 spots and going in one direction. With the scooter, only 2 small contacts with all the weight on and your front wheel will be twisting with more wear. There is a reason why soft urethane scooter wheels aren't made. Air tires can definitely handle cracks and bumps better but the maintenance to keep them filled is annoying, flats are a pain (no flats with hard wheels) and air tires don't roll as fast or long as hard wheels. You will use more effort and energy kicking with air tires on the street. If vibration is a problem, let your quads be your shocks and loosen your grip. I have the LaScoota Metro with the 9" front wheel and front suspension and it really does a great job with a smoother ride. I also have the Razor A5 Prime. I have no interest in the Razor A5 Air tires scooter. I ride fast.

    • @Bflo23
      @Bflo23 ปีที่แล้ว

      @paulneri835 Too slow for kicking with air tires but it does ride better over that real tough terrain and cracked up sidewalk but definitely pretty sluggish in the street. Air tires provide better grip though. More work to kick. If one has a powerful e-scooter, air tires make more sense especially riding on a lot of bumpy sidewalks. I ride like 98% of the time on the street. I also like to ride fast. I average like 10-11 mph and 18 mph max. No way I am going that fast kicking with air tires.
