Just found your channel today, enjoying your videos. I use the TFO DR9 Downrigger-Mooching Rod while kayak fishing the West Coast of BC inshore waters. I like the sensitive carbon fibre tip and S glass back. I can either mooch or troll and can bend under pressure.
Love your videos and big fan here. On the Rode mic, does that keep your GoPro water proof? I want to get the Rode mic, but I’m seeing that one on the doors need to be removed for this to work. Any suggestions? FYI: I fished that area for about 10hrs on my hobie looking for halibut and no luck.
Sucks about losing that fish. I agree with some other other comments - like to see the rod action on the strikes. Thanks for the report about halibut. Hoping to hit the bay again soon. Open ocean eventually.
I actually moved my transducer to avoid hitting rocks on landing, although I strictly use the kayak in fresh and brackish waters. Good job, spot lock is great but a bit noisy in fresh water. Great video, educational for me! It's a great little kayak.
Awesome video Adam, the tutorial was very to the point, espeacially for those wanting to launch from the beach for the first time. I really wish you would've landed that monster. Again everytime you eat the fish wanna eat lol. Great job and stay safe out there. Aloha from Kansas
Please do me a favor and buy one of those 4 for $15 paddle leash and tie it on your rod so you don’t have to worry about your dropping your rod overboard. Another great video!
You have proven you can catch ling, salmon and halibut. How about making 2021 the year of the “ghost”? Time to catch the elusive WSB - White Sea bass! Know you can do it!
Damn it sucks to have lost that giant fish! The worst part is will never know what it was😭. Hopefully it wasn’t something ridiculous like a White Sea bass. Have you ever caught one btw🤔?
Love the gps spotlock on my bass boat. Game changer . Spotlock is gps trolling motor able to hold you in one spot once you set it.
Adam, thanks, nice video!! Great info.
you need a longer paddle for that high seat.
A trailing hook added is a good idea.
Great vid!
Wow technology changes so fricken fast lol. I think my favorite piece of tech was my first iphone...ahh such memories. Great job on your video!
Shouldve used the spot lock next to the pier and tried for halibut there, ive caught a few right off the beach, some short and 1 keeper
Nice test!
Could you do a halibut pier video ?
You prefer the old town auto pilot over a hobie mirage?
Looks cold
what model x-11 lamiglass is that rod?
Thought that was you in capitola
Sounds like you have reverb on the overdub at the end
My favorite spot!
The Pacific, mine too!
whole time im watching the surf at the end and i did not see any crashing wave.. its almost glass flat.
Any kelp in the area?
Hi Adam, any thoughts if I would I be able to put a Minn Kota Power Drive V2 54" in to an Old Town Sportsman 120?
Your living my dream
Paddle is upside down

You always give it your all... 👍. Thanks for posting and wish we could’ve seen that first fish!

That's stupid using 2 rods makes it illegal
What was that you were eating out there? Looked like you were really enjoying it.
Chicken and rice!
Love that new kayak bro!!!!
totally agree; guarantee that i will eat real good and 3L of water minimum (might not drink all the water but the food is hi sto ree
All a story
That kayak looks top heavy.. looks like you sit really high up
The first one might of been a bat ray or something similar
Your voice has some distortion at the end before landing
Adam! Fix the camera angle. I liked seeing rod action 😞
Got you on the next one!
It's still too early fishing halibut in Santa Cruz
When will it be good?

I think I know where this is and I wanna try that spot for rockfish, so this was helpful. That audio tho 😆
Looks like Capitola to me. Can see the pink and blue buildings in the background when he launches.
@@jiguana7334 dude you are right lol
Did you used to carb load the night before for salmon fishing when you used the Hobie?
Bummer Adam losing that Fish. But Nice launch from the beach and a return landing.👍
Great videos but also would like to see u catch White Sea bass ! I’ve never cought one myself tight lines
I want to catch one too!
I bet i can take a nap with that kayak while fishing.
Hi hi what rod are you using with Lexa?
I'm not liking the new camera angle. I like to see the rod tips.

Didn't explain what Spot Lock is. Audio goes weird at the end. Still I enjoyed this video 👍
Nice new mic! makes huge difference
How deep did you get that first bite Adam? I'm hoping to catch my first hali of the season this weekend out of Capitola
Around 50 feet
So how do you go to the bathroom? Seriously. And not the easy one. I tend not to eat much when I'm on a charter.
Secret methods I can’t divulge😏

Nice yak,Adam!! Buuuuut i miss watching ur rod while ur talking n showing!! Luv ur videos and channel, tight lines from the 619!! 👍😎
Great content as usual. The new camera angle does not show the first bait.

He's done it already
@Three Aces Not sure what you mean but BSB is a protected species so targeting them is illegal...so....🤷🏻♂️
Do not pick up the rod on the halibut to set the hook, let them take the bait and swallow it, give them line for longer than you want, just suggestion

Gotta love the anchor spot lock feature

Went on a skiff for the first time ghe other day. Got so seasick i had to retreat. What do you do to deal with seasickness?
Love your vids ADAM! You're a goofy dude! Lol I'm the clumbsiest guy I know but eff it! Lol
Dude I was out there on Tuesday the waves were huge I was on a dinghy boat awesome video🤙
💛...loading carbs with rice balls...
Sponge Bob
I love how comfortable he looks in the kayak. He’s just sitting back, relaxing watching his rods. 😂
Man dat was heartbreaking being able to see da fish on your fish finder. I think your right it was probably a ling hitchhiking 👍🏽
Let’s see a surfing video lol
Love the vids !
I hate big wave kayak launching
