I tell you what else they're good for.. Starting the car up on a cold morning then going back into your warm home whilest the car warms itself up lol I wonder how many other people use them for that.
that is fairly normal as these cars will have a built in check that prevents the alarm from being armed with the engine running. Depending on your year and model, there should be a bunch of write up's on how to disable that feature so you can arm with the turbo timer counting down. I would search for something like "HKS turbo timer alarm bypass" or something like that. Hope this helps! Thanks, Rick
Don't Coolant temps generally go up when Idle? I Know when I'm driving around, its about 185 degrees, and idle, its about 197, ...I do understand this will work better to cool off the oil.
In regards to the coolant temp, it will depend on the car, and the setup. But generally speaking when you are moving, you are getting much better airflow though the heat exchanger than the fans can provide while sitting still. Now when it comes to the turbo, this is not about absolute temps, it's about letting the turbo have time to "cool" off to prevent stationary oil and coolant from boiling inside the CHRA. So let's say for example you were just putting around the neighborhood with virtually no load on the engine, pulled up to your house and shut off the car, these timers would be worthless as your turbo is about as cool as it's going to get. But let's say your house is at the top of a mountain, with the high loads and therefore high EGT's you will be seeing, something like this can come in handy if you don't want to sit in the car and wait for everything to cool off. These are for sure, more of a "convenience" than anything else, and most modern turbos don't suffer from the same issues that the older ones do, but one thing is for sure. If you are driving hard, don't immediately shut the car down, let it cool off a bit. It just depends on whether you want to do that manually or with one of these. :) Thanks, Rick

turbo timers what if u dont have a ebrake and u have a foot brake does it wire to the same source
As long as it has a signal wire going to it(which it should) you would wire it in the same way :)
