i bought a few plants from the local fish/pet store. Im trying them in Dirt with sand mixed, from my yard . in a Clear storage container . im a first timer . hope they live, if not i just wasted 20.00 , and i have more plants coming in form a seller on Ebay. hope they make it to me alive .. and im using root tabs along with brine shrimp cubes. ill be getting the plant food soon .and ill change to that and do away with the root tabs and cubes. wish me luck ..
So glad that I subscribed to your channel. Always very informative and positive 😊
Awesome! Thank you!
I tried this method before years. It is amazing. No need to use aquasoil, just regular soil. The key is in the light! Put the plants in regular soil, give them very high light and see what happens after few weeks. I tried with hemianthus cuba, staurogyne repens, alternathera reineckii mini, lobelia cardinalis and more ... Amazing results for all of them. If someone want to see , just tell me, i will send you pictures.
Great! Thanks for sharing! Yes, I love to propagate my plants now - so easy and CHEAP! :)
@@AquascapingCube I want to share my results with you. How to send you a pictures :) ?
@@RockPaperScissors13yes but that plant grows faster underwater
Have you tried it with ABG terrarium soil?
Today is our lucky day! New subscriber after watching just *one* of your videos. Thank you!
Awesome! Thank you and welcome :D
Many thanks for your videos. I am enjoying them. And I am definitely going to try propogating my plants as you did here.
Thank you! Best of luck!

Very informative, thank you sir.
Glad it was helpful!
Very helpful video ☺️Great job👍please share active soil and light link😊thank you 🙏
Thank you!
Active soil: YOKUCHI Jiban Soil (bought in my local fish shop)
Light: CHIHIROS WRGB II SLIM 90 (a.co/d/fUYO4r7)
Today I found out your videos and now I am starting my journey propagating Staurogyne and Rotala Bonsai. Just a question thou, how often should I spray my plants?
Great, good luck! At the beginning, I spray them every day, but later I do it every 2-3 days and it works fine for my plants. Just be careful about temperature. Don't overhead them with your light, because at the beginning I had this problem.
Fantastic stuff! I knew that it will work for stems as well! :D
Yes it does! :)
Nice 👍🏻 thank you for the good content.
My pleasure! Thank you for watching!
Very useful! thank you very much.
Great! I’m glad you liked it :)
Fantastic. Thank you, I'll try this out!
Thanks! Yes, try this out - it works great for me :)
1 quick question. Can I put the container during the day in a room with indirect sunlight, and under the lamp during the night? Does it work too?@@AquascapingCube
Thank you!! Priceless info!
Glad you enjoyed it! :) 🌱
I grow tons of aquatic plants straight in outdoor sunlight.
Perks of living in a tropical Country. 😀
But I do always have to keep a chiller running in my tanks 😑
hello. thanks for the video.
1-How do plants get oxygen and co2 in an enclosed box?
2-why do this method instead of just planting the cuttings back in the tank or root them in a glass of water?
3- Whats the huge plant at 6:03 to the left of the tank?
No problem!
1 - There are small ventilation holes at the top.
2 - No water = No algae risk. You can use a lot of light and grow them very fast. And keep them for longer if you are not planning to plant them in the same tank. Very useful if you have more tanks.
3 - Echinodorus Amazonicus
I want to grow hydrocotila and eleocharis, love them. I propagate petunias, so I'm not a newbie. Maybe I grow enough to fill a small tank.
Yes, you can do this method with both - no problem! With eleocharis I already done that at least 5 times and it always works fantastic :)
I plan to do that for Monte Carlo, Staugyrone Repens and few other plants which almost went away after ending at wrong spot (shaded by other plants) or got eaten by Angelfish. Currently my tanks are low-tech with deep dirted substrate, so the plants grow at decent, but not furious pace.
Great! Keep us updated on how it worked for you! Staurogyne Repens grows like CRAZY with this method :D
Awesome! 👍
Thanks!
Incredible . Can you show how to propagate Pogostemon helferi and bucephalandra
Thank you! :) Helferi should be easy, I can try actually ;) Buce I'm planning to do, but it will take a lot of time, as they are very slow growing. I made similar video about anubias in the past: th-cam.com/video/IqJGYMTerk8/w-d-xo.html
Can I place the containers beside a bright window? Will that work as well?
It can. But you need to be careful with temperature. If the sun will heat up your container - it will kill the plants. Strong light is ok, as long as the temperature stays reasonable (below 30C)
very nice man but i have few questions! i have peat moss soil will it work alone? also do i have to fully cover the container and prevent air to come in? and finally do i have to spray with water daily? thanks alot in advance!
Hi, I think that peat moss might work on for plants that like very acidic soils and it doesn't have enough nutrients to work alone. You should cover it, but you can leave very small holes to let air go through. I spray mine depending on the humidity inside, but often only every 3 days and it works just fine. It all depends on specific batch of plants and container - just observe them and spray when you see there is no water condensating inside :)
@@AquascapingCube thank you for the tips i am going to start today actually i prepared all! it will be water westeria, yellow flame bacoba, cabomba and finally rotala which i think it needs more care but ill give it a shot anyway cheers!
Can we use garden soil?
How often do you spray water them?
Every 2 days is enough. Works every time ;)
Do you experience melting when submerging them back into tanks? Apologies if this has been addressed in comments already.
Only Alternanthera Reinecki is melting at the beginning, but once it adjusts to the water - it's growing just fine. Staurogyne and Ludwigia are adjusting the best and very fast.
좋은 영상 잘 보고갑니다❤❤❤
Thank you!
Can i do this with sunlight and not LED lights? Thank you!
Yes, but you need to be careful about temperature, because sun can heat it up very fast. And you can expect slower growth, but in general it can work.
@@AquascapingCube Okay! I am trying to grow carpeting plants in a small cup with just sunlight like indoor plants. I hope they grow. Thank you!
@Mr0712darwin Cool! Good luck!
would it be overkill to use root tabs along with the aquasoil?
No, go for it! I use them myself in my new projects for plant propagation. New propagation video will be out next week ;)
Where do you purchase those small propagation containers?
Got it on Amazon, I think those are the same: amzn.eu/d/2nVrGQV
Have you seen any effects from growing them like that then submerging them again?
No, they are doing just fine. Only Alternanthera Reinecki is melting at the beginning, but once it adjusts to the water - it's growing just fine. Staurogyne and Ludwigia are adjusting the best and very fast.
does.it.need.air.ventilations?
Yes, it has small holes at the top to let the fresh air inside. And I open it from time to time to have some air movement (during spraying).
Can we propergate in mud or organic soil??
Organic soil - yes. Just pick good one without any addons (REALLY organic). With mud? I have no idea :) Never tried mud before.
Hello can i use organic soil? Or aqua soil?
Yes, definitely. Just check if it contains any harmful fertilizers (just in case).
any amazon links to the propagation boxes?
Sure ;) I think those are the same: amzn.eu/d/2nVrGQV
That sustrate is free? Or why free?
nice
Thanks!
very cool
Thank you! 😁
