White allows you to see every single detail of the car's body. Every line, crease, curve, and panel gap is highly visible on a white car. If your car looks good, it'll look good in white. If your car is a confused mess of details, it'll look like exactly what it is. If you don't clean your car, white paint will rat you out there too. It's really obvious. You can't hide ANYTHING from a white paintjob. So if your car looks good in white, it's been done right.
