It's pretty ballsy to be overspending/stealing like 200M in salary from the city you manage, then steal *MORE* from maintenance for a time capsule of all things, which doesn't need automated turrets for security lol

The 2076 World Series baseball bat has a 10% chance to send enemies flying I used it after upgrading it. When it hits, there is a sound of the crowd cheering. Quite fun.

Some.quite rare materials too, and you can simply rearm the lasers to loot again. Well worth your time, but bring power armour specced for carrying, you'll need it.

One day, a ghoul went to an underwater town named "Bikini Bottom".
He ventured into many places in the strange town, including a ruined restaurant that was once called "Krusty Krab".
When the ghoul entered, he saw a treasure, an untouched shipment of spatulas. When he went back to mainland Boston, he gave all of the spatulas to all of the ghouls in Boston. They say he now lives in a town near downtown Boston.
you forgot to mention if you get Preston Garvey as a companion when discovering the treasure he starts to laugh his ass of. Finding Hilaryous how the "trash treasure" took so many people in to a futile greed quest.
It's also one of the only times that he shows any real emotion.
He then marks a f**king settlement on your map.
I literally just did this quest earlier today with him as my companion,and his reaction made me laugh my ass off.
Yeah, he and I both laughed at how absurd it all was.
The only real treasures are setlements that need our help

I wish you had brought Preston along for this one. He easily had the best reaction to seeing what the treasure really was.
I liked Danse's reaction to the treasure, too. Everyone else looked at it like it was a big joke, but Danse was the only one who understood the meaning behind this time capsule. It's nice that he saw the optimism towards the future that was put into it.

ingasparrow I once did this will all the companions. And as much as I dislike Danse, seeing him appreciate it for its meaning and not the objects themselves kinda made me smile. He's a dick but he has his moments here and there

I came to the vault expecting treasure like everyone else, and when I showed up, I was dissapointed at first... then I realized what it was, and I wasn't so upset anymore about it. Sure it was meant for the future, and while it may not have advanced like they thought it would, it still served it's purpose. To remind us of what things were like 200 years ago.

what disappoints me more is the jamaica plain settlement is so tiny and to boot a house in there that you can not use when you should have the whole town to rebuild .

@@catsndogs98 I use Hangman's Ally as a feeder settlement. It's a good place to scrap the stuff you find around Boston. Assuming you have provisioners.
I only keep a few permanent settlers there, and move the rest to other settlements. But as a built up place it doesn't work very well. Not only is it small, but there's an invisible wall that settlers won't cross, making it even smaller.
@@christopherconard2831 I've built it up pretty nicely, a couple times... I like to stack it, make a layered, Megaton style settlement, where the floor for one house is the roof of another, tuck a little one room house in this crevice... I find it fun to see what I can squeeze in, and where

Yes! Add in that one house to build in and it'd be pretty great, central. As it is I made it a hub for caravans and RP it as just a place for merchants to work and sleep.
When I walked into the room, I looked around, smiled a bit, and left everything where it was and left. Maybe in a few hundred years if civilization rebuilds, they will find it and treasure it too.

I just kinda took everything in there just to display them all somewhere else (because, let's face it, in Fallout, no one would appreciate all that stuff except for SoSu) only to dismiss my companion that I had carry all of that stuff, who is also from a cheat terminal mod, who is also a custom companion which means once dismissed, they will disappear along with everything on them. All the hope of having all the settlers look at me like I'm crazy for displaying useless crap is all but crushed and in the wind.
I did the same. Left it all untouched and sealed it back up as best as I could.

and the story of a man who trapped inside the metro tunnel when the bombs drop. It cost me 1 MONTH searching on every millimeters of metro tunnels on Capital Wasteland to find his holotape and I found no shit except a tons of Ghouls
I'm always amazed how any random side quests can seem and sound so much more interesting and exciting when I listen to you narrate them :) If I've taken anything from your videos is that I should pay more attention to details and immerse myself more instead of just going through the motion the next time I play Fallout. Thank you for bringing a bit of life into, what I always considered, a bit of a story/quest lackluster game :)

There’s something I’ve always wondered about Jamacia Plain, so sure enough there was some security, but the main thing that was killing people was the Feral Ghouls yes?
Why didn’t a non-feral ghoul simply walk down there and try to claim the treasure? Ferals don’t attack other ghouls, a non-feral ghoul would only have to get past the security system (which given the condition of the building, is an easy enough thing to do, being a ghoul, you would have free reign of the town to search for the archives key) so why did no ghouls ever try?
Lore oversight. Stuff like that happens in a lot of franchises

@@Mobysimo Makes sense but word seems to have spread so I'm sure not all non pre-war ghouls had a pre-war ghoul to tell them it's just memorabilia and nothing of monetary value.
It's most likely lore oversight on the devs part. If it was a master locked terminal where you had to find the password in another location after some riddles or some such it'd make more sense and be more interesting. Maybe actually set up by someone pre-war who turned into a ghoul just out of boredom after 100years or so. I mean you could even make up a reason like they were looking for capable people or more pre-war ghouls. Have a little bit of a bigger story behind it without having multiple quests tied to it.
That way it makes more sense as to why no one has been able to get there and the group that tried either didn't know about the password or thought they could hack into it anyway. Regardless, seems more like a lore oversight than actual thought put into the reason as to why there hasn't been a group of ghouls who heard about it that have gone there in over 200years.

I really like this quest more than most. The irony of the whole thing appeals to me. All these years people have been after this "treasure" and all you get is a baseball bat. While the bat is good only getting a t-shirt would have been hilarious. (I did this quest and all I got was a lousy T-shirt!) LOL
If Sal had made it all the way down and was in the treasure room, mortally wounded, and found out what she'd been planning to betray others for. Then she screamed obscenities into a holotape before she died.
Everyone was doing everyone else down and in the end, they all got done in by their own greed.

it's actually interesting, but outside of synth tech, the institute hasn't really advanced much. even the reactor they are building is basically pre-war. if anything, the institute only just caught back up with pre-war america.

I remember going into Jamaica plain's thinking wow this is going to be a great treasure when I find it. Just a bunch of junk. I remember being really let down over that. I must have spent 30 minutes walking around that basement trying to find a hidden door or a trap or something to open up another area, nothing.
at least that swatter worths it, and... a distant settlement... wooohoo...
At least you can take solace in the knowledge that you were the only one capable of getting there

I'm surprised I haven't seen anybody mention the Sunset Sarsaparilla star bottlecaps quest from New Vegas. The reward in that vault was hilarious.
This is one of my favorite quests because it shows how time/lack of information results in legends being built up through mystery and interest, especially around treasure.
it's kinda like the sierra madre. 'a treasure that has not seen the light of day for more than 204 years "fallout new vegas starts in 2281 and bombs dropped in 2077" and that has taunted treasure hunters leading them to there doom, that has also seduced people, inflaming there own greed leading to treachery and death,' but that was also important to the people who buried it and the treasure had significant value too, but the major difference is that the sierra madre was suppose to keep two treasure, but actually killed one because one was living and needed the basic things that the security system could not provide, such as food, water, and sanity, and the sierra madre had a tad bit o' gold buried in it.
Yea but it was a sham lol except for the bat, antique locket and pocket watch. Sierra Madre literally had riches galore.
Companion reaction to the treasure room is hilarious especially Cait and McCready. Dance is the only one who sees it as treasure.

When I got there, I wanted to disarm all the laser trip wires to farm the junk.
Halfway through my companion decided to stroll on in and set off the alarms.
...and Skull & Bones symbol at the end of the Treasure Room kinda explains it all.
Its just amazing how many videos you upload and how long they are. You really put a lot of effort in it. You're doing a damn good job!!!
Well, it was pretty much what I was expecting from the terminal entries and such. The janitor at the right of it though. The whole thing was a boondoggle: a wasteful or impractical project or activity often involving graft. If you could trace back the money spent on this, I'm pretty sure the mayor had some connections in construction and security firms. Which would explain why the whole thing was so over built for a time capsule, and why it cost so much. She gets her good friends in on a nice cushy construction job on the tax payer's dime, they donate generously to her re-election fund or something similar.
The funniest part of the quest is listening to the various companion's reactions to the 'treasures'. Hancock thinks it's hilarious. Some of the others are.. not so amused.

Anytime I find a long lost treasure in a game that ends with an empty chest and a note that "the real treasure is the adventures you had coming here", I want to find a necromancer to resurrect the person who left that "treasure" so I can murder them all over again multiple times.
It was never about the treasure, it was about the enemies and deception encountered along the way 🤗

Makes sense the brotherhood seems to also hold historical documents in high regard.
Hey, Oxhorn, maybe you should take something from every location, put it on display in your main settlement, and, when you discover ever piece of lore and do a video on them, take us on a visual tour and recap every location. Just a cool thing for us to look foward to.
I love the reveal only because of hiw hilarious the "fools gold" really was there, always makes me chuckle thinking that raiders were so desperately trying to get in there
Bring Cait with you when you do this quest. Her dialogue when you enter the vault is gold.
The first thing that went through my mind when I stepped into the exhibit was "oh! A camera, score!" I was pretty hard up for crystals at that point in my play through and I guess I didn't have very high expectations of this supposed "treasure" to begin with.
I like how Danse and Curie are the only companions who appreciate the treasure for its historical value.

Correction, the janitors I.D. does not deactivate the tripwires. However if you have picked up the Mayor's card from Luke Silverhand then activating the card reader will use that card instead, deactivating the outer security. As the security system says "Welcome Mayor" when you swipe the card, either you picked up the Mayor's I.D. and forgot about it or your game glitched in this instance.

I never sold the bat to Moe. Being something of a hoarder in game, I went and used one of the vacant lots in Sanctuary where I have my main base, and built a large concrete structure I dub the "Vault 111 Museum" which basically amounts to a place for me to store and display all of the unique legendary items, surplus power armor, and other items I find in the game (I even preserved Shaun's crib, Codsworth's Mr. Handy Box, and Nate and Nora's rusted station wagon in the museum along with a couple of decently preserved cars from around Sanctuary). But the 2076 World Series bat is on prominent display in the Vault 111 Museum in my playthrough. Figure someone who actually knows how baseball is ACTUALLY played, should be the one to display it.
I stumbled upon JP by accident... And after fighting my way down, and opening the doors, only to see the treasure was in fact a time capsule... I honestly felt humbled... I didn't take anything from there that first time opening it, cause I felt like I didn't have the right to take it... I just left it all there. A capsule of a bygone era.
A capsule that will likely be buried in rubble and dirt within the next few decades.

Frank Woods well, typically, by the time you have 50 stars, you probably have a few thousand caps already. Besides, with a high luck stat, you can make caps as common as spent brass.
