Hickory on the Split Force 13/20T Firewood Splitter

  • In today’s project, we're processing some Hickory logs for cooking/smoking firewood. We're using a Takeuchi TB 235-2 mini excavator to pick up and move the logs. The Firewood Pro Sizer laser and a Mingo Marker mark for cuts. Bucking with a Stihl MS261 chainsaw. The Split Force 13/20T firewood splitter turns the rounds into firewood. The conveyor moves the wood into NNZ firewood storage bags. And the Kioti NX 5510HST 4x4 tractor moves the firewood bags around the wood lot. Check out the firewood POV shot!

    How are you liking the split force now that you've used it more? How tall are you? Looks like it should be higher for best ergonomics

      I'm loving it. It works really well. No issues to date, other than the few flaws I addressed in my previous video. I'm 6' even, and 90% of the time, I'm happy with the table height. Really easy to adjust though, just drop a couple splits under the rear tires and back it up on them. Really appreciate you watching!

      Really appreciate your kind words! The splitter is doing great, and fits my needs perfectly. Only have 60 cord or so through it, so just getting broke in, so time will tell. Check out NNZ.com for the bags. There are ready made racks available, but with shipping and fuel costs these days, it's probably easier to make your own or have one fabricated locally. Thanks so much for watching!

      For sure. I paid just under $20k USD and not including freight. That was before the pandemic and shortages really fired up though. Mat at Empire Attachments can get you an accurate quote. His email is msavard@empireattachments.com Let him know I sent you. Thanks so much for watching!

    Save the bags & write the date on one of the split pieces then face it down to avoid sun fading.

    • @FoxfireProjects
      @FoxfireProjects  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great idea, will have to start using that! I normally use tyvek tags, but the restaurant that orders these bags requests a photo with the date visible with each invoice. Unfortunately, we don't get the bags back from this customer. Thanks so much for the advice, and for watching!

    What's the largest diameter you can split

    • @FoxfireProjects
      @FoxfireProjects  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not sure on the exact maximum. Have had some pretty large tree service rounds (30”+) on her with no issues. They hang over the edge of the table until split in half, but never had an issue. Appreciate you watching!

    Look for a battery fuel transfer pump for the gas can. So you aren’t lifting the can.

    Another nice presentation,
    Do those bags just roll down the sides as you remove the wood ?
    Do you ever dump the whole bag out when delivering it ?
    Where do you aquire the giant bags?

    • @FoxfireProjects
      @FoxfireProjects  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Appreciate the kind words! Yep, sides just roll down as the wood comes out of the bag. We’ve dumped a few, but most our customers like not having the mess and have adapted to just covering the top of the bag and calling it good. We order bags through nnzusa.com Thanks so much for watching!
