my equipment is like yours, it starts, when it arrives at the home screen of the wallpaper, it restarts on its own, stays in this loop, what can it be?

Hard to say really, could be a few things. Always look at software first, you don't need to do a re-install yet, just attempt to load the install media, if it loads, could be software. Still, not a guarantee though. If even reloading the OS, it still does that, it sounds like a power issue, either your power adapter is faulty and can't handle the load, or it is some power related issue on the logic board. Like mine, a faulty hard drive wouldn't exactly cause it to reboot almost as soon as the desktop loads. Beyond this, if there has been a liquid spill on the board, it can cause shorting, and the board will need to be cleaned with alcohol. Hope this helps

Interesting video, thanks. You don't happen to have a PowerBook G4 (with OS9) for sale do you? Alternatively, do you know what might be causing screen flicker on a 2006 G4?

I don't generally no, sorry. Screen flicker could be the backlight inverter

I have one "PowerBook G4 15" same issue as this one, I think the boot up disk is stuck in the CD drive

Please what architecture does the hdd use? I've taken mine out and want to connect it to my new laptop through USB.

I'm not sure what you mean... Are you referring to things like partition map? File system? If so, for PowerPC Macs, the hard drive has Apple Partition Map, and typically uses MacOS Extended (Journaled) (HFS+). Should work fine in an enclosure, and as far as I know modern Macs can still read all of that. Then again you could just reformat if the data on it isn't needed

No please. I wanted to know the type of hdd it uses. Whether sata, ide etc.

Oh right, well for these computers, they still use IDE, they switched to SATA when the first MacBook Pros came out. On my personal G4, I have an mSATA SSD in a 2.5 adapter case

Thank you Sir. Are there different types of IDEs. Because mine has a 44 pins. I have an IDE external drive case but it doesn't fit. Why is that so please.
