- Hello everyone! This is my first miniature/dollhouse room box built from scratch. The room box has a pretty bay window, and I'll show you how to paint the faux wood bench. It also features a mahogany parquet floor, antique cylinder roll-top desk, and of course a beautiful library shelf full of books.
Unintentional ASMR-Use headphones if you want to listen closely to the sounds of cutting, sanding, and painting!
Sit with me and watch the past few months’ work as I build this precious little library ♥

I love it when the algorithm throws up a new channel and it's run by someone so very talented!
Aww thank you! Glad you enjoyed 🥰
Yes! Me too. Brings me insane delight!!
You took the words right out of my mouth!! 😮 so true 👍🏼
Pure Perfection...❤
Same😮
You are incredibly talented. I can't even imagine how long it took to create this masterpiece and edit it.
Thank you!! It took MONTHS, I was definitely crawling towards the finish line at the end...
I've been subscribed to your channel for a while and often play your videos in the background while I work cos your voice is so soothing and nice to listen to! So thank you for all the amazing content you put out too :)
Hey Shyra, this was incredible wasn't it ? I just got this channel in my feed and was happy to see the creator watches you too, if someone this awesome follows you, and watches your videos whilst building, it one of the biggest compliments you could get, I can see why as we all love Queen City minis too❤
Hail The Queen! Oh my goodness - I ❤ your sense of humor.. i literally lol and smh. I love you videos and i especially love that the OOPS! stay in vs edited out. I gain hope for me yet! When making miniatures videos are perfectly executed, my fingers get fatter and my thimb grows another layer of crusted glue. Its a bummer. Thanks for posting your work!
@@mminmakes That's awesome! Thank you
I had a project like that. It was a monkey on my back toward the end. I just wanted to get it over with.
@@pibarrante6901 same 😆 I feel a bit self conscious over my crusty fingers when I'm editing
Honestly seeing that big case filled with all your specimens made me want to happy cry. I know my things I’ve saved and collected could be so lovely.
Aww thank you! I love hoarding little things too so I'm glad other collectors feel the same :)
Not only are you incredibly talented, but you made me chuckle throughout. I'm glad TH-cam put you in my algorithm; sometimes it gets things right! lol
I hope your channel blows up. You're definitely one of the handful of miniature artists that deserve the recognition.
Thank you! My projects take a long time to make so it means a lot when the video reaches people like you who appreciate it ❣️ Thank you for the kind words!
I was a creative little child and I loved to try all sorts of new ways to create. We couldn’t afford much so my mom would take me to Hobby Lobby and we would go straight back to the clearance section and I would get to choose one thing to take home. Right beside the clearance section, tucked away in its own little magical corner, was all of the miniature dollhouse items. I always dreamed of being able to afford to make miniatures as a hobby. It’s hard for me to work with miniatures now because of my unsteady hands, but I still love to watch others work. Absolutely gorgeous and I thank you for sharing your creations with us. It is like coming home ❤
Thank you for the sweet comment! I would've loved to look at little miniature dollhouse things but we never had a shop like that where I live. I'm glad you enjoyed the video 💕
You rarely post, but when you post, it's a wonderful piece of art ☺
I've been holding this precious comment in my heart all day. Thank you 💕
The secretary is incredible. I am amazed that you made it actually functional on such a scale. As a lover of Oeben & Riesener’s roll-top desk for Louis XV, I can only bow to the miniature cabinet making. The parquet is incredible too.
There is actually a miniature version of that exact desk! The miniaturist, Dennis Hillman, has since passed away, but you can see a blog post by his son here: keithsramblings.blogspot.com/2007/06/my-dads-model-maker.html?m=1
I can only hope that after a few decades of practice I might be able to achieve what he did 😂
@@mminmakes Oh thank you so much for the link. It's amazing !
I'm not a miniaturist myself so I can't really tell, but your attention to details and even functionality will definitively help you achieve that goal !
I simply adore the second collectors cabinet! It's just amazing. All the crystals looked like candy lol, no wonder you had to resist putting them in your mouth!
Right?! They are so small and colourful..
This was absolutely the best build I have seen! You are pretty picky with your library, and it shows. If we would take only one or two new ideas from you, it will be worth it. I will watch this again just to watch how you make this look so easy. I've made my share of books, and they aren't all that much fun when you do as many as you did. I can't really choose a favorite, they turned out perfect. My father was a master carpenter, and I remember watching him work. He loved the hardwoods, mohogany being his favorite.
Yes you're right, this is definitely one for the miniature library to watch again and again ❤
Aww your father sounds amazing! Mahogany is such a lovely wood 💕 Making the books probably took longer than anything else in this build.. I did develop a few methods to make them a little faster, I'll try to film it for my next video! Thank you so much for watching and commenting 🥰
Unbelievable, it must've taken weeks & weeks to create. Congratulations it is absolutely stunning!!❤❤
Thank you so much! It took months but it was worth it, I'm glad I persevered and finished hahaha
the absolute perfection of when you snapped on the pretty bulbs and lit up the room at the end! this was a beautiful build 💛
Thank you so much!! I was stressing out over the lights but it all worked out in the end 💡✨
I have rarely seen furniture with such a beautiful finish, it's just magnificent. 1000 times well done 💗
Thank you! 😊 The burl veneer was one of my favourite parts!
What a beautiful place, all my favorite hobbies in one place! It's stunning! it makes me want to be 4 inches tall! It's truly amazing!
You and me both! Books, pretty stones... Ah I wish I could live in this room too 😂
@@mminmakes right I have noticed that it forms communities that have so much more in common than we know! have so many things in common and it's awesome! Thank you so much!
Hello from Canada 🇨🇦 Your channel has become my go to at bedtime. I've even got my husband watching it! I put my tablet on a stand and we watch a listen to fall asleep to beautiful sights, sounds, music and miniature inspiration. Thank you so much for sharing your talent, your work is amongst the best I've ever seen❤
That is awesome! Hello from Singapore 🇸🇬 When I watch this video at bedtime myself I never make it past the cabinets before I fall asleep 😅 Thank you for your support, wishing you and your husband many nights of restful sleep 💤💤💤
I am in awe. Thank you so much. Absolute art, beautiful. If I might suggest something (though I’m totally unworthy) I would like to see the Lady’s library with a fabulously big squishy armchair
You will not believe it but I have half a dozen tabs open right now researching how to do miniature upholstery 😂 a fabulously big squishy armchair is definitely in the project queue! Though at the speed I work at it might take me a year to get there...
I used to watch a lot of these videos but I could never deal with the music they choose in the back, it never seems to match the project. Thank you for taking the time to create such a beautiful experience
Aww thank you! It took a while to put the music tracks together but I'm glad it worked out :)
I absolutely love libraries- In real houses and in doll houses. Beautiful.
Yesssss, libraries are absolutely my favourite room. I'm definitely going to be building more!
So impressive. I enjoyed every minute of it and like someone else said, I didn’t want it to stop. Well done and many thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment :)
tears slipped right down my face when you butted that first table legs 😂 (am usually quite the analytical type) Absolutely Enthralling! The entire thing is a work of art. Your improve is sensational. That floor!! That Lady!! It was like watching an opera. The highs and lows and laughter. It's exciting to hear people still read books. i have been watching James Herriot's All Things Great and Small on PBS and look forward to it every year. i again watched in .5 speed because the very best is in the tiniest details. BRAVO!!
Noo not that table leg hahaha I'm glad it gave you a good laugh 😂 I wish we had PBS here, I'd love to watch the James Herriot show! Thank you for watching and leaving such a lovely comment ❤️📚✨
This reminds me a lot of Aziraphales bookshop from Good Omens, and I mean that as the highest complement I could possibly give. It's so filled with love, care, and attention. This is the most spectacular miniature build I have ever seen, I love it dearly. Thank you so much for sharing!
Ooh, I went to look it up and it's so pretty! I loved the Good Omens book but never got around to watching the show. Thank you for the kind words 💕
that little aragonite crystal in the case. i want to absorb it into my eyeballs forever, the whole setup. it's so cute.
aww thank you!! i did spend a lot of time staring at this build...
I've been recommended this video so much this past month. I ignored it think I'd watch it later. I coincidentally watched the Collector's video earlier this morning, and this so happens to be the Lady's part. I just procrastinated myself up a sequence. 😂
Oh nooo hahahha the way I laughed at your comment... Thanks for finally giving the collector and the lady a watch!! 😂💕
@@mminmakes Your videos are mesmerizing! Thank you for such calm and beautiful art. 🩵
This is not only informative of your process but a wonderfully calming video, love your work!!
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for leaving a comment
You are so talented and funny… I’ve never seen someone so deliberate and delicate in the way that you are. I want to cry watching these videos, they really genuinely feed my soul like nothing else ever has. Thank you so much for sharing these builds in the way that you do. Doing things, even my hobbies, is so hard lately but this reminds me why I love these things. I only hope I can make such beautiful crafts and sets as you do someday. Cannot wait to see what you’re working on and working towards next!
Thank you for watching and commenting, comments like this feed my soul in return!! It does get hard to do hobbies sometimes, there's definitely been hobbies I dropped for years...One day you'll be able to pick something up again, whether it's a new or old hobby :) I hope you find that joy again!
Making that beautiful floor the way you did amazes me! Such talent!
Thank you so much! The floor was probably the most enjoyable part ❤️
I didn't want the video to end, it was so good! Thank you for sharing. It's perfection!
Awww thank you! I was worried it was too long so it's nice to hear you liked it!
I've fallen in love with your content and you got an immediate subscriber with your Butterfly Collector's diorama! The emotion, personality, and stories you put into this are very endearing to me. I really appreciate your outlook on life and how you notice those small things! I'm excited to continue watching and hearing those tales that inspire me in my life. Thank you for your content :)
Thank you so much (❁´◡`❁) I've been smiling all day at this comment, it's people like you that motivate me to keep making content :)
That room would be heaven to me. I love books!
Me too! 💕
I fell in love with this video.
I have to thank you a ton for the links to the supplies in the description because I’ve been looking into getting materials for some projects of my own, and this has me inspired to finally make those a reality.
I love this all so much. Amazing work!
Glad it was helpful! All the best with your projects too :)
This showed up in my algorithm and I have ended up watching all of your videos! I know this takes up a lot of time to do but please don’t stop posting 😭🙏 IM ADDICTED! You have a new subscriber 😊😁
Welcome aboard! Thanks for the support :) Don't worry, I'm already hard at work on the next video!
@@mminmakes Thank you so much! 😊 🙏 I will be waiting patiently 🫶
❤❤❤❤❤❤ ❤❤❤❤❤ 🎉 I have watched hundreds of videos on making miniatures. THIS ONE is by far THE BEST. Hands down/ thumbs up and salute! Wow. You go girl! Its beautiful, and I learned SOOO MUCH. Thank you.
Thanks so much, that's such high praise. Glad you enjoyed!!
So beautiful and the fact that they're all functional!!😻
I'd love to see a witches hovel or cottage for Halloween just think of tiny potion bottles, drying herbs, wee little cauldron and mortar and pestal! 💜
Oooh! I hadn't thought that far ahead but you're right, I do need a project to use up all the little glass bottles I've been hoarding...
I am in love with your room; with your lady; with the beautiful furniture you made. I was so worried when you cut the legs too short but your solution was marvellous. I know I will be watching your lovely video over and over. Thank you for sharing. (Australia)
Thank you so much! I'll admit I nearly gave up on the table legs, but I knew I had to persevere or the chair seat wouldn't be able to fit under it 😂
This is so wonderful, your attention to detail is perfect. Your filming is so real and good, when you were sanding and had some wood dust I automatically tried to blow it away!
Awww hahaha that is the sweetest compliment!
This is a masterpiece. Your attention to detail is unmatched. Thank you for sharing. ❤❤
Thank you! 😊
You and your work are phenomenal. You have such an amazing ability to create and the way you think is truly beautiful. Don’t ever stop doing what makes you happy x
Thank you so much! 😊
What a lot patience you have - very talented also xx
Thanks so much 😊
Lovely! Now I need to find a library laser cutter!!
You should! It's amazing what some libraries have--mine even has sewing machines!!
@@mminmakes my local library is pretty darn small - about 2,000 sq ft and just books and digital media 🥲
Every inch of this is absolutely stunning!
Thank youu
For applying glue, one thing you might try is a 'silicone brush', it looks like a fan brush but solid silicone instead of bristles. Hobby stores tend to sell them around where they stock casting epoxy and resin supplies. Similar premise to what a woodworker might use; though the larger tool looks more like a big basting brush or paint roller.
Upside is the flexible head makes it easier to spread out a nice thin and even layer of glue; and the silicone means you can peel the glue right off so cleaning the brush is a cinch.
I have even used this with epoxy in the past, and there are these clay tools that are like mini versions of this, they also work so long a they're silicone. They might be good for when you need to glue up really tiny pieces.
Also just another note since you mentioned how the wood glue is gritty - an old carpenters trick is to add salt to your glue; the added grit keeps pieces from sliding around when clamped up. No idea what Elmers glue uses, but it's doubtless why they add grit.
Thank you, this is wonderfully helpful!! I've got to keep an eye out for those silicone brushes. I tried using toothpicks but the glue does build up and it seemed wasteful to keep using new ones. I hate cleaning brushes and palettes so peeling the glue off sounds like a dream.
I do prefer the gritty texture of that wood glue over regular white glue! Makes sense to have it with bit of 'grip' so things don't slide around when you apply pressure.
@@mminmakes If you can't find the kind of brush I mentioned, you could maybe use a silicone spatula (like for frosting); I've occasionally seen small ones that wouldn't be too inconvenient to use.
You could also always modify the spatula; cutting it to a more useful size or shape. I did something similar with a basting brush, cutting the bristles shorter so they didn't flop glue everywhere
Best of luck, and good work!
Wow..that was fantastic. I had trouble keeping up with reading your comments at the same time as watching what you were doing. I didn’t want to miss a thing. How come I haven’t seen your work before? You are amazing. Well done. I now have to go and check out your channel and watch more. Cheers Robyn ❤
Glad you enjoyed it! Sorry about the subtitles, maybe I will try slowing them down next time.
This is how I like to make my miniatures. I would love to design my own rooms, and get the bases cut using a laser cutter.
Go for it! 💕
La visione di questo lavoro è stata un viaggio bellissimo ❤
Thank you so much! 💕
That would so be my favorite room in the house!! I love to read
Libraries are such beautiful things 💕
Ahh im so disappointed there aren't more videos on your channel!!! I really enjoyed this! ❤ please keep making more content 😊
Aww thank you! There's definitely more to come!
Beyond beautiful. You deserve way more views and subscribers, more people should see this!!
Aww thank you!!
The crystal cabinet is such an amazing idea!
Thank you so much! It's the first piece of furniture I designed for this build ❤️💎✨
This is so fantastic. I enjoyed every moment. I am so glad I have found your channel and I look forward to seeing more and catching up on what you’ve already done keep creating. It’s wonderful you’re very talented. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you so much! Your words are so kind, they make me very happy :)
This is absolutely enchanting
Thank you!!

Thank you so much 😁
This was absolutely breath taking!!!
Thank you!
A masterclass in miniature, thank you for sharing 🙂
Glad you enjoyed it, thank you for watching and commenting!
Omg! The care you took at crafting the books is so mesmerizing ❤ i love this miniature place! Thanks for sharing ❤
Thank you so much!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE your work!!! I'm in awe of how you build each piece from scratch! And the fact that you designed your own room and built it to scale is just inspiring! I am a book maker and binder, and junk journal maker too. So I want to make some tiny book charms and pieces to be a background for my video flip throughs of books. But I'm nervous to start making a miniature bookshelf since I've never made one before. I'm sure I'll be very slow. Maybe I'll start by making the stacks of books. That, I can do! Thank you for the inspiration and resources list. I'm not a new subscriber!
Thank you for watching and commenting!! I'm sure you can start with the books and eventually have a whole miniature bookshelf. Bookbinding and junk journalling are so cool!
This is absolutely stunning!! I'm so impressed with your construction of the furniture most of all.
Thank you so much! The furniture was really challenging but fun!
You're making me miss my old room it had a bay window 😭😭😭
Awww hahaha I miss my old room with a bag window too!!
@@mminmakes it's where I spent most my childhood too so like augh. I had bookshelves there for a bit before I replaced it with an art chest and mornings were always so bright
I thoroughly enjoyed watching your build and reading your notes throughout the process! I learned a ton and it was also really relaxing to watch! 😄 thank you for sharing all of this with us! The result is absolutely beautiful❤
Aww thank you! It takes a lot of research and work to make these miniatures and the videos help me to record the techniques I've tried. I'm really happy if other people find them useful too! 💕
Watching that was a true delight! Thank you 😊
Glad you enjoyed it!
This is one of the most beautiful, satisfying, and relaxing channels! Amazing detail, very lovely. I love the story about The Lady throughout. I actually want a room like this!! Amazing artistry!
Thank you so much 😀

This is so beautiful and your attention to detail is amazing. I love the flooring. That must have taken quite a while to complete, but it was definitely worth it for the way it turned out. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much! It did take a while but it was also very relaxing in a way 🤭
So beautiful and relaxing to watch, I am so envious of your skills. I really need to try something like this myself. I have always loved Miniature things.

Awww hahahaha thanks for subbing anyway!! I'm too shy for voiceovers, it'll have to be subtitles for now...
I wish one day to have your still and patients to make things like these.

Such a beautiful vides and creations ❤ love the collectors cabinet!!! 💕💕😄😄
Thanks so much! 😊
The commentary is so funny!! Amazing work :> I love the little books but the disorganisation and clutter would drive me nuts if I were to actually use the mini space lol

Wow 😲 this is so beautiful and delicate.
Thank you! 😊
Absolutely beautiful work. Excellent.
Thank you so much 😀
Completely charming! Thank you for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I have two things to say
1. If you hadn’t mentioned some of the floor tiles being “wrong” I never would have noticed!!! Any perceived mistakes make it so much more meaningful. Beautiful project!
2. That quote at the beginning about learning languages was accidentally one of the most profound things I’ve ever heard… “saying too much and sounding too formal, trying again and saying too little.” Can I use that in a song lol
Thank you so much! Sure, go ahead and use it 💕 I'm always really happy when people appreciate both the craft and the language!

You do magnificent work!! I would love to see you make a Wooten desk! I have an N scale railroad layout and I interior detail all my buildings. Keep up the great work!
