I was seriously thinking about that chain for days and when I worked out that solution, it brought me quite a bit of joy as well haha. Turned out much better than expected! So so happy you could enjoy~
wow, to say the detail in this is insane would be an understatement. great addition to the shelf! and glad to see the return of the ghibli cookie tin. your cinematography skills grow with every video, so excited for the next one!
It was a surprising amount of work to make all the tiny pieces that go on the shelves! It looks faster in the video because a lot of the work happens off camera, but every little piece had so many components to make. Thank you so much for the super kind words, I am incredibly honored you thought so! Always trying to learn and improve the videos as much as possible~
Apologies for the long waits as always, this was quite a complex build and of course I'm always complicating everything in the edit by adding extra things as per usual haha. Hope you can enjoy regardless~

I used that masking tape when I studied art!! You have to paint over the area were the line is gonna be with the base color, wait til it's dry, and then put your desired color for the line on top (if it's see trough, paint a second coat). That way the bleeding won't be noticeable and you'll save lots of time!! :)
Ah, the teeny basket! The corrugated paper is so good for that. And I'd rather have bread than a purse, too, at any given moment. Wonderful project! I have ordered the Kiki book to read before watching the movie for the first time. (Still on my very slow quest to watch Ghibli movies.)
The basket was so fun, the corrugated paper made it so easy to get the texture! Yes, always would choose bread any day haha! Kiki is such a wonderful feel-good story, I'm sure you'll enjoy it so much! I actually haven't read the book for Kiki's, would be interested to know what you think of it~
I'm with you on tacky glue, took me forever to try it but once you try it you do not go back (and yes, favourite glue is a thing lol) so happy to see the finished project (only a few minutes in so will edit when I see the end result!) Love the painting too! It's REALLY good! edit (as promised) - It's amazing and adorable and completely worth the wait!! The DETAILS! The MUSIC (sounds)! The TINY CAKES! The TINY STAINED GLASS! OMG!! YES! ALL OF THE YES!
Yes! Tacky glue is the best, I've gotten several comments about it in the past and knew I needed to give it a shot, but it took a while to get around to it. It's so much better for building things because it all sticks together and dries so much quicker! Ahhh so happy you could enjoy it and apologies for the super long wait, as per usual~
School's been so exhausting lately that I don't have the time for my favourite activites like making miniature versions of movies n stuff. So I'll console myself just by watching your videos ㅠㅠ
Stoooooop you are the gem my friend! So so happy you could enjoy, I have a blast making the videos as well, so that's truly the best thing to hear! Thank you for the super kind words~
This is so cozy and beautiful! A tip so tape doesn't leak - paint a layer of your base colour overtop of your tape before painting in your stripes. this seals the tape so your accent colour won't bleed through.
So precious! 💕💖💕 it gives a feeling as though Kiki has grown up a bit. Just a few years, but she now runs the bakery during the evening now to give Asano and her husband's growing family a bit of a break. LOVE ❤this so much! Youre very talented.
As a Dane🇩🇰 I just love that you are using our tasteful cookie box (which are sooo 😊) and that “bread basket” you’ve made is EVERYTHING, and why I love this craftsmanship, all in one thing!👍😀❤️
Ahhh so happy to hear that! This one was so much fun, lots of time consuming details, but definitely worth it in the end I think! Glad you could enjoy it, as always~
happy to see u again! i love ur tin projects n the tiny bows here were so cute. i always save ur vids for bedtime since it’s fun n calming. ty for ur amazing content n hard work :D!
You are so detailed. Really impressive! The stained glass lights turned out much better than I thought they would. What you lack in perfection, you make up 10 times more in original thought with this build. If you aren't an engineer, you should be. You really thought this through. Well done!
Ahhh stop that's too kind, thank you always! And back to you as well, I've enjoyed all your recent videos so much! Always come away from them inspired by something new or unexpected that you're experimenting with. Hope your new workspace is treating you well~
You’ve probably heard this before, but a way to solve the issue with bleeding when using masking tape is to paint a second layer of the background colour in first. (On top if the tape) it fills in the air gaps where bleeding will occur, and you can go over it with your stripes colour to get a nice straight line! Aka: 1) paint bg colour on 2) place tape for stripes 3)paint bg colour where you want stripe 4) paint stripe colour where you want stripe 5) peel
That was an incredible amount of details, and all impressively done. That home-made chain was so clever! I always enjoy the editing information, too. Thank you for sharing another excellent cookie tin diorama with us. Your videos never fail to brighten my day.
As with most Ghibli spaces, once you start looking there is just so much to see! They really pack the details in there! Thank you so much! The chain was something I was thinking about for a while because I really didn't have any ideas for it for a long time. It was a relief that it came together in the end. So happy you could enjoy and thank you for the super kind words, as always~
Maybe one day! I actually did a Kiki's inspired witch's green house as the second? miniature I ever made many years ago, which is part of the reason I went with the bakery. But I love that space as well, would be a super fun build~
I just saw a great tip about bleeding masking tape! You put your tape down, do another light coat of the background color over the edges then wait and paint the color you really want over the top. Its supposed to give clean edges with no bleeding every time
Yes, the sponge ended up working quite well for the texture! Makes it a bit more uneven like how bread cooks! And the makeup sponges are easy to cut to tiny shapes and sizes, which is great for miniatures. So glad you could enjoy, as always 💜
Ahhh you are just too kind, thank you so much! I don't get a chance to paint very often, so when I can sneak it into a video to give me an excuse, I always do haha~
Literally the entire video was spent with me practically doing happy kicky feet from how overjoyed I was about this! I don't even go to Ghibli, I'm just psyched to hang out for a while to watch somebody work on something they're really passionate about and pouring their love into. I love your channel so much because of that! Also, I just discovered that they make tacky glue in bottles that are meant to be stored upside down, so the glue doesn't settle at the bottom! See if you can find it next time you're at a craft store!
I have printed Lily and Jiji and painted them. We love Kiki's Delivery Service. The two cats are upon my shelf where I can just look at them when I want. Thank you for the wonderful video.
Painting figures is one thing that I definitely need to work on, it's so tricky getting the tiny details right! Lily and Jiji figures sound adorable, I love that! So happy you could enjoy, thank you for the super kind words~
I love Studio Ghibli and in Kiki’s Delivery Service, a lot of the scenery is Inspired by “Gamla Stan” in Stockholm and “Visby” on Gotland, both are places in Sweden, where I’m from, and the cookie that was light and had a red-ish filling looks a lot like a Swedish classic cookie called “Hallongrotta”, it’s a really funny coincidence, you are so talented in making these miniatures and I love watching your videos!
Like you I have a Fondness for all of the Studio Ghibli films. And you do such amazing job of creating them in your Wonderful Cookie Tins. Thanks for sharing another one with us. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🍪🍪🍪🌹
Looks great and as always very A E S T H E T I C. I like the 3d previews and am going to assume I may have inspired that, since I noticed you found my channel because of my last video. I’ve been watching your channel for some years now so I feel honored!
Thank you so much! No way, I had no idea you watched miniature videos? Hahaha that's so awesome! Actually I've been watching your videos for a while and only just realized that I wasn't subscribed, I thought I was this whole time! There's been a bunch of reasons I wanted to start learning some animation and your channel was definitely part of it! I love all of the plans you include in your videos so much, thank you for all the wonderful inspiration~
Loved the behind the scenes segment! The process of making nearly anything is super interesting, imo and I love hearing how different creators approach similar projects. And a beautiful miniature as always!
This makes me the happiest to hear, I always love talking about the process, so it's wonderful to hear that it could be interesting~ Glad you could enjoy and thank you so much for the kind words, as always!
if you want to avoid bleeding with tape, you can 'seal' the tape edges with the original colour (yellow, for example, with the wallpaper), then paint over it with the colour you want - that way any initial bleeding is the same colour as the background. It's a trick i learned for actual wall painting, but i bet it works just as well for crafts! 😅
If you can figure that out we're so close to having our dream house! I'll build us a little miniature home complete with art space and pet space and then we can shrink down and live happily. It's the dream~
Oh my goodness you are too kind, thank you so much! I think miniatures are inherently multimedia projects for the most part, that's what makes them so much fun to work on~
@MechanicalFiend I'm a miniaturist myself. Therefore, I know what it is like. I realized that being one gave me so many different artistic talents. I love your work.
Wonderful work, D! Lighting and music will always make a scene, for better or worse (look at the old silent film era). Catch you later "Party Monster".
Absolutely, while as I mentioned it's best if everything is great, I definitely think you can get away with mediocre visuals just a tiny bit more than mediocre sound. I always tend to notice audio issues in things I watch way more than visual issues. Glad you could enjoy and thank you for the kind words as always~
@@MechanicalFiend I think desynched audio is my biggest pet hate (to the point where sometimes I'll queue up in different tabs, the same video and mess around with the timings until the 2nd one's sound matches the first one's video... I realise that's a little insane but it eases my brain). So I 100% agree with you that mediocre sound can break the immersion completely whereas mediocre video can be more acceptable (and can always be lifted through editing as well). Love your attention to detail in all things on your channel - just as much detail in the making as in the editing - you ROCK!
Oooh I love your miniatures and I love that you do a painting before you start. I always feel heaps of inspiration watching these. I can't even count how many times I've watched your Howl's Moving Castle one
Thank you so much! The lighting built into the project was actually one of my favorite parts of this, those pendant lights were such a lovely piece to work on~
Try painting over the tape in the cava’s color to prevent leaking (it basically seals the tape and you can paint over it then with whatever you prefer without it messing up)
DANG!! I love it, eventhough I'm not familiar with these characters, or scenes. I have made the round "roombox" with a Christmas lit scene on the inside, and a decorated wreath on the outside, for the entrance door to our house. Love your work!
Thank you so much! Apologies as always for the super long wait, this one was just absolutely packed with so many details! Quite a lot of time consuming pieces to work on! Really relieved to hear you thought it was worth the wait~
Ahhh thank you so much, really happy you could enjoy it! The paintings are so much fun, I try to sneak them into projects when I can to give me an excuse to spend some time painting haha~
Woah! It's always great to see one of your videos popup in my feed, and I hope things are going well behind the scenes. This was another very enjoyable project to watch come together, you could almost smell the freshly baked bread. I really wish I had a bakery like this nearby.
So it's not a German New Years pretzel in that case I'm guessing hahaha, that's my bad! I was looking it up trying to figure out what it could be and that looked the closest! Glad you could enjoy regardless~
i DO have a favorite glue thanks for asking. i really enjoy titebond wood glue. it does discolor but it does so in a naturalistic amber colored way that i like anyway for my significantly less meticulous work lol. it also makes for excellent wheat-paste!
The tiny details brings me so much joy. I've never been so delighted to see a little piece of cardboard turned into a chain.
I was seriously thinking about that chain for days and when I worked out that solution, it brought me quite a bit of joy as well haha. Turned out much better than expected! So so happy you could enjoy~

if you want to avoid bleeding with tape, you can 'seal' the tape edges with the original colour (yellow, for example, with the wallpaper), then paint over it with the colour you want - that way any initial bleeding is the same colour as the background. It's a trick i learned for actual wall painting, but i bet it works just as well for crafts! 😅
Shoooot, girl. I want to live in the miniature breads. I think I'm gonna shrink down and do it, honestly.
If you can figure that out we're so close to having our dream house! I'll build us a little miniature home complete with art space and pet space and then we can shrink down and live happily. It's the dream~
You are a very multi medium artist, with a beautiful singing voice.
Last night, I went on a binge of all of my favourite Ghibli movies.
@@MechanicalFiend Anytime and always!
OMGGGGG soooo happy to see a video from you!!!! So excited!!! 😃
You and me both, this one was such a long time coming! Hope you can enjoy it~
@@MechanicalFiend ALWAYS BEAUTIFUL WORK 😀
Love ❤️ love 💗 love 💕 it! All the details! Ahhhhhh
So glad to hear you could enjoy it! This space definitely was packed with so many tiny details, a very fun one to work on~
Oooh I love your miniatures and I love that you do a painting before you start. I always feel heaps of inspiration watching these. I can't even count how many times I've watched your Howl's Moving Castle one
✨Everything✨ is so cute 😍
Honestly if it's Ghibli, it's pretty hard for it not to be cute simply because of the designs haha. Hope you could enjoy it~
It looks really cool, I absolutely love it. Can't wait to see what you do next.
Thank you so much, really glad you could enjoy it! I'll be starting on the next part of this asap!
you are so talented with a heavenly singing voice! Thank you so much for sharing!!!
this is adorable edit: the lighting turned out really lovely!
Thank you so much! The lighting built into the project was actually one of my favorite parts of this, those pendant lights were such a lovely piece to work on~
Try painting over the tape in the cava’s color to prevent leaking (it basically seals the tape and you can paint over it then with whatever you prefer without it messing up)
I love this kiki's bakery diorama and I love your VDO . I have never been bored to saw it in many artist version
Love the view out your window! ;-) Great detail!
If you gotta block out the window, may as well make it Kiki's beautiful home!
This is so cute!! I love miniatures so much they bring me such joy. Thank you for sharing your process!!
Gorgeous
Thank you so much 💜
Everything is soooo beautiful.. but I'm kinda scared of Kiki herself 😂😂
You did it again!!!! Beautifully crafted and detailed cookie tin!!! Love it! 🥰
DANG!! I love it, eventhough I'm not familiar with these characters, or scenes.
I have made the round "roombox" with a Christmas lit scene on the inside, and a decorated wreath on the outside, for the entrance door to our house.
Love your work!
As a french, your bread looks very yummy !!
And she's back :) Great! Love your miniatures and the whole building process.
The amount of detail... Wow
So incredibly detailed wow!!! Been waiting for a new video for so long and this was defo worth the wait!!
Thank you so much! Apologies as always for the super long wait, this one was just absolutely packed with so many details! Quite a lot of time consuming pieces to work on! Really relieved to hear you thought it was worth the wait~
This is amazing! Great job! I also love your original painting 😍
Ahhh thank you so much, really happy you could enjoy it! The paintings are so much fun, I try to sneak them into projects when I can to give me an excuse to spend some time painting haha~
Incredible work, so delicate, the wealth of details is impressive. Congratulations!!
Woah! It's always great to see one of your videos popup in my feed, and I hope things are going well behind the scenes. This was another very enjoyable project to watch come together, you could almost smell the freshly baked bread. I really wish I had a bakery like this nearby.
This came out so amazing! I love all the different jars and things.
Love this ❤ but as a german i'm a little bit confused about the german New years Brezel 😂
So it's not a German New Years pretzel in that case I'm guessing hahaha, that's my bad! I was looking it up trying to figure out what it could be and that looked the closest! Glad you could enjoy regardless~
Amazing and skilfull hands for sure 💯
Ahhh well that's so very kind of you to say, thank you! Still a lot to learn, but every project helps a little more~
Love this! The set, the food, the lighting, the production - amazing😍
Looks awesome! So many little details ❤
So many! They really pack them into the Ghibli spaces, there's always so much to see! Thank you, so glad you could enjoy 💜
i DO have a favorite glue thanks for asking. i really enjoy titebond wood glue. it does discolor but it does so in a naturalistic amber colored way that i like anyway for my significantly less meticulous work lol. it also makes for excellent wheat-paste!
What am I doing on a Saturday night? I'm watching you make tiny bows haha
