The potemkin mains will see that flick input remains unchanged so their karas will have to fight the 214k input which will cause their karas to become exceedingly difficult like trying to do kara wild throw or kara bloodsucking universe This will make it so that temkin is harder than ever. Here's what's going to happen. STRIVE players are gonna whine instead of reflecting on themselves and pretend like they're still Guilty Gear players, when they never were.
The patch doesn't need to have a lot of crazy changes. No one needs new framedata or widescale edits to their kits, and the outliers just need reversions. 1. Nerf explosive damage moves on characters who don't need them, or are known to be on the higher end of the spectrum. 2. Nerf Guard Crush chip damage. 3. Revert Pot to S3, keep Armored Buster but balance around it. 4. Revert Ram to S3, keep new S Sword Toss but balance around it. 5. Fix new character's bugs and oversights. In this case, Dizzy's Ice Field needs to NOT max meter gain scaling. Arcsys does these 5 things and then lets the game rock for a bit and then we can assess where everyone sits and what ACTUAL changes need to happen in a later patch. Changes to Frame data, Move properties, Hitbox/Hurtboxes, Damage, the works. We just need time to cook with the S4 balance philosophies, but with the intended damage characters are supposed to do. Is Johnny too safe? Is Armored Buster a bad idea? Is S Sword Toss broken without Guard Breaks? Is Behemoth Typhon x3 crazy if the damage is heavily scaled down? Are characters like Elphelt and Happy Chaos problems when the damage ceiling on the better characters are worse? Is Dizzy actually bad if Ice Field isn't drowning her opponents in meter?
Ngl, the Pot change being just at his accessibility instead of his actual power level feels like the right move for the character on his current state. Like, current Pot has such a strict and solid game plan that you could literally have 6 controllers playing games at the same time on floor 7, and half of them would still win regardless of what they are fighting against, specially when they will all wake up Pot buster. If now there is a way to make his inputs miss, it wouldn't affect those who actually invested a lot of time playing with him, but it would keep Pot away from lower floors being as annoying as it can when you don't know exactly where to counter it (specially considering most people below Celestial probably do not lab each matchup, and whatever they learn while fighting him will be forgotten the next day).

2:41 as a May main i can safely say that May has been bottom 5 since they removed her ability to TOD people this game is so unfair why cant a character with a reversal one of the most damaging overdrives in the game good hp and hella disjointed buttons TOD this game sucks im dragon uninstalling
I feel acting on dmg changes will put us more aligned with the other top 3 fgs currently. Having these characters that output too much dmg when capitalising on your misplay leads to a duality of “why do I play X character when Y literally kills me in 2 interactions” and “nah I’m just gapper” for winning this. Also sin isn’t that bad lol it’s true, at the start of S4 I looked at his new conversions and was like “top 5 sin” but dude spends most of his bar to get those conversions/pressure sooo. Also also Domi pls fight me 😭🙏
Pot main here, I hate the new Pot, I know he is more powerful now but I feel like my wins were kinda cheap or if I lost I would get run over, it was never about how strong he is but about how fun he was
I actually love this patch despite its flaws. They definitely fucked up on the damage but I really like the way most of the cast plays in this version of the game. If this patch just tones down damage plus nerfs Goldlewis and Ram then I think this will be a fantastic version of the game. Also, praying that whatever they’re referring to with guard crush doesn’t apply to Bedman.
I hope Garuda is a strike again so IBFD is a valid option to deal with it. Hopefully FDB is less of an instant win tool against zoners too. Especially Asuka, playing Asuka into Pot is so ass this patch. Revert Jack-O 2D so old setups work pls.
2:24 sol's overall damage actually feels waaay higher this patch, stray chs/whiff punishes off pokes such as 2S and 6S feel much more deadly, and i'm not too keen on it
I just want to fight characters that aren't encouraged to use their most annoying and unfun tools over and over because that's optimal play. Make them fun to fight AGAINST, please 🙏
As a pot main im glad karas are coming back but also scared cuz it looks like the karas that are coming back are going to be significantly harder to do for some reason?? and also I feel like hes gonna lose some of the cooler shit he got in the S4 patch (faster hfb, heat tackle giving better oki, flicked projectile being plus, etc). I definitely dont want projectile garuda tho I want that completely reverted (hopefully with the big COUNTER effect too)

There is a way to kara inspite of this its just more difficult: 6k~214 p, because this method needs 6k to be inputed _first_ you have much less time to complete the motion on top of it being less fluid and cohesive overall. This is just my understanding of it though hopefully I'm wrong and karas are easier than this 😅

They fucked up this game too hard with these last couple of patches that took months to make. Why would a last minute unplanned patch that was whipped up in a little under a month fix those issues?
Vacuum wouldn't do shit but give her more pressure again which arcsystem already did despite not needing to do so with that new dash cancel. They need to revert it

But on hit it would bring the opponent closer for pick up on anywhere on the screen for an actual combo extension when minions are not available. The reasons the s3 combos no longer work(midscreen) is because 2D travel distance has been reduced not allowing for jack-o to pick up. But if the opponent is vacuumed combos would be possible, while not giving the option of a 4-way mix and instead 2 way mix instead. That is my understanding from the Jack-o discords and talking with other jack-o mains. But who knows maybe I do not know what I am talking about and will get my time to shine in bad takes video lmao.

the armour on the move is waaay too late in the move, kara adds 6 frames of startup making it less likely that the armour comes into play against mashing, still, i wouldnt mind losing pot buster armour if i can kara it
