Technically it was accurate but only if you caught that he hated "Opie" as his character's name because of the teasing he endured at school from his classmates. If you have ever read much about the show, you already knew that, except for the tension between Andy and Aunt Bee because of his unprofessional behavior (jokes, etc.), the relations among the crew were all good. TO ALL VIEWERS: We MUST start recognizing these clickbait videos before we move forward and watch them. Pages with titles like "The Ultimate Uncovered" are a big hint. There are a lot of these pages popping up. I know it's becoming more and more difficult to recognize that the narrator is AI (artificial intelligence) generated ("bot"), but if you listen carefully, you can tell that human qualities are missing - everything is so even sounding, relatively flat, and the rhythm is robotic. No humor, no irony, no variety of expression. Then there is the writing - it sounds directly lifted from perhaps a book about the series. The writing for these videos tend to jump around, without great logic, very much like someone who cuts and pastes paragraphs but doesn't carefully smooth segues to help the reader (or viewer) organize the information. This sounds just like a giant dump of info from books, magazines, the internet (and probably some of it is just fiction to fill up the video). Next, listen for repeated words -- the narrator here, says "Interestingly" NINE times (that’s eight times too many) - I searched the transcript. This is ONE of many reasons that AI is not ready for prime time, it doesn't edit itself well. Someone here pointed out that the narrator states that Andy often used the catch phrase "That's the time" - three words that make zero sense unless other words follow it. The person commenting here suggested they must mean "That's the ticket" - however, I can't find any evidence that was used as a catch phrase on the AG Show. However, it IS the catch phrase of Jon Lovitz's liar character on Saturday Night Live. That is how absurd these videos can get. The narration states the phrase, “carries a range of meanings including expressions of approval, affirmation, or agreement, akin to saying “good,” “okay” or “that's the right thing to do.” Approval, affirmation, and agreement are basically the same thing, and “good,” “okay,” and “that’s the right thing to do” are not examples of a range of meanings. Let's take a look at this particular segment of narration: NARRATOR: In addition to its entertainment value, The Andy Griffith Show offers viewers a fascinating glimpse into Southern culture and language. One notable aspect of this is the phrase “that's the time.” Frequently used by Andy Taylor throughout the series, this phrase originates from old southern vernacular and carries a range of meanings including expressions of approval, affirmation, or agreement akin to saying “good,” “ okay,” or “that's the right thing to do.” As you watch the show you'll likely discern the intended meaning of “that's the time” based on the context of Andy's usage. It serves as a subtle nod to Griffith's own Southern upbringing, adding authenticity and depth to his portrayal of the character. There we have inflated, flowery wording intended to make the analysis sound sophisticated. Words and phrases like “fascinating glimpse,” “discern,” “intended meaning,” “context of Andy’s usage,” “serves as a subtle nod,” “authenticity and depth.” This is The Andy Griffith Show, not Long Day’s Journey Into Night. As many here have pointed out, there are also repeated segments (like the rock-throwing story). It’s like a child who is desperate to reach that 150 word requirement for a book report. Additionally, actors’ names are OFTEN mispronounced in these videos. I’m not certain that’s the case here, but it’s a common AI problem. Also noted by others commenting here, look for incorrect photos. I recently watched a video about Desi Arnaz, Jr. - a ton of the narration was flat out incorrect, and about five times, they used images of Donny Osmond instead of Desi Jr. There are many incorrect photos in this video. These things happen (wrong information, mispronunciation, incorrect photos, etc.) because AI is literally doing all the work - the person/people posting this can't be bothered to edit, double-check or correct mistakes (which they are probably incapable of, because I doubt very much they have any interest in the subject matter). Laziness and greed fuel this engine. Documentaries (even "mini" ones) are challenging to make - the excellent ones require careful, painstaking research, looking through hundreds of photos, verifying information and then of course a careful, meticulous editing process. These videos are popping up left and right and clearly there is very little effort or artistry behind them. Gather the text, have the AI narrator speak the words, gather a big bucket of photos, and then - and this is the MOST important part - title the video something irresistible, and always misleading. When I think of the cumulative waste of time caused by these videos, click baiting viewers who are sincerely interested in a topic, it makes me furious. The more we all reject these vids, there will be less created. It would be great if TH-cam removed vids like this - but that won’t likely happen because they don't technically break any rules. I think they will take down "misleading" videos if the information is about politics, health, science, perhaps history - but not vintage sitcoms. If they took down videos for misinformation, probably 30% of TH-cam would be gone - so it's our job to walk away as soon as we sense the empty, useless quality of these vids. It might sound silly to make a big deal of this, but I believe these videos are so off-putting they make the TH-cam experience less reliable, and less enjoyable, not to mention young people who, without any personal memory of a show like this, will watch and probably believe all of the content. They will think, "Wow, Opie, Beaver and Eddie Munster were all played by the same kid." WHO ARE THE 2,500 PEOPLE WHO HAVE "LIKED" THIS VIDEO THUS FAR???
Hi, I enjoyed the video very much. One thing that you didn't mention about Ron's career is that He played the little boy taking piano lessons and singing Gary Indiana In the movie version of The Music Man, before he got the role of Opey He did a pretty good job of singing for such a young boy. I have a copy of the vinyl album called songs themes and stories of the Andy Griffith show, which contains the vocal version of the theme called the fishin' hole. I have had it since it first came out and is is still in nice condition I also loved the performances of the darling family/ the Dillards, on the show. Griffin also did a great job as Matlock, Thanks for the great overview of the Andy Griffith show. Darryl
Well actually I know a guy who once did some interior work on Andy Griffith's house and he told me that Andy was actually an absolute A-Hole so I firmly believe that this is absolutely true ! I'm almost 59 and my friend, though sadly he recently died of a heart attack but he was in his early 80's and even I was blown away from all of the mean things that he told me about Andy ! I loved The Andy Griffith Show when I was very little and like Bill Cosby, I thought the world of him but my friend never lied to me about anything ! Don't think that how a person is on a TV show and/or movies is exactly like the way they are in real life because you too may find yourself severely disappointed.
Listen to Ron and Clint Howard’s book. Listen not read, the two men reminiscing and recounting in their own voices is GOLD. Yeah…. Ron Howard hates/ hated no one.
I am truly amazed at how many people totally missed who Ron Howard hated! It is there, folks, if you listen. It is the name "Opie" he hated because of all the teasing he received at school because of the name. Those familiar with the show - and many interviews - already know the only tension on the set was between Francis Bavier and Andy Griffith because of her professionalism and his constant practical jokes. It is testament to them both that none of that was obvious in the films. Sooooo, for those of you saying the title is "click bait" which often titles are, this one is not if you paid attention to the narrative of the video!
You're really assuming that *all* the people complaining about the clickbait just missed that part of the video? In no way is the title describing how Howard hated his character's name. If that were true, why doesn't it simply say, "Howard Hated the Name Opie" or at the *very* least "Howard Hated Opie." - "Howard Hated Him" with a picture of him and Andy Griffith 100% intimates that Howard hated Andy Griffith, which is a lie. That's blatant, easily spotted clickbait which insults the intelligence of the viewer, thus the comments.
@@crashburn3292 I did not deny it was clickbait and nothing else. In fact, many of these are just that! I'm sure you also seen video titles "The Tragic End of ...." insinuating the person has died when they have not! As fo reassuming all people missed it, I did not. Many people have commented on it because they didn't catch it in the video. Just for the record, I rarely "assume" anything - none of us should.
This is the best review of the Andy Griffith Show I have seen. Of the the greatest TV shows ever made. Definitely in my top 3 after 73-years. Andy Griffith #1, Honeymooners #2, and All In the Family #3.
You missed that the whistler of the theme song actually and literally was able to whistle the duet with himself. As a kid I was able to go to a school program where he performed, and met him afterwards.
The title of this video is vague, thus inducing curious people like me to check it out and find out who hated whom. However, in the early introduction the narrator says we're going to hear 30 facts about the show. I'm betting you that the question I want answered will be number 30 in that list. In other words this is clickbait. They want you to watch to find out the answer to the question but they wait until the end to tell you the answer. I'm no longer wasting my time waiting for a setup like that so I won't be watching this video. The creator of the video should learn that we're getting wise to these tricks and the number of Tricks is limited so we get exposed to them multiple times all the time. Give it up.
I love this show and never tire of watching the episodes over and over. It's an epic example of how simply wonderful life can be and it teaches us that we should all be grateful for the little things in life, which can actually be the most meaningful!

Let's take a look at this particular segment of narration:
NARRATOR: In addition to its entertainment value, The Andy Griffith Show offers viewers a fascinating glimpse into Southern culture and language.
Hi,
I enjoyed the video very much.
One thing that you didn't mention about Ron's career is that He played the little boy taking piano lessons and singing Gary Indiana In the movie version of The Music Man, before he got the role of Opey
He did a pretty good job of singing for such a young boy.
I have a copy of the vinyl album called songs themes and stories of the Andy Griffith show, which contains the vocal version of the theme called the fishin' hole.
I have had it since it first came out and is is still in nice condition
I also loved the performances of the darling family/ the Dillards, on the show.
Griffin also did a great job as Matlock,
Thanks for the great overview of the Andy Griffith show.
Darryl
Me too. Who was hated?
Ron Howard & his father who was also in this series.... absolutely loved, respected & grateful especially to Griffith.... & also some others.
Am I the only one who can't understand why the narrative goes back about half way and then restates things that have already been covered?
I noticed it in several spots. Guess the idiot narrator lost his place and picked up in the wrong spot.
Did you know the Sheriff drove a Ford?
I enjoyed the comments more than........
In 1981 I saw Ron Howard drive a convertible Rolls Royce into Gower Gulch in Hollywood.
Gower and Sunset. 1 block east of Sunset and Vine.
And it's made you into the man you are today...
Who did ron howard hate , for petes sake
Nobody. The title is click bait.
The pickle. He hated the boy pickle.
That's the only conclusion I can come up with.
I love Andy Griffith show and I i still watch it to this day.
Some of those pictures of Mr. Schwamp remind me of Jerry Mathers of Leave it to Beaver.
Ron Howard hated getting called Opie at school.
A couple of those "Mr. Schwamp" pictures were actually of Jerry Mathers.
Why was Jerry Mathers pictures show up in this video?
Because the person that made this vid is 😅 dopey, rhythms with opie
If you actually WATCHED the video, you'd know the answer, Slick.
Yet others speak of the opposite. Sometimes gossip is up and sometimes down.
TITLE IS A LIE CLICK BAIT !!!!!!
Listen to Ron and Clint Howard’s book. Listen not read, the two men reminiscing and recounting in their own voices is GOLD. Yeah…. Ron Howard hates/ hated no one.
Just give us the hated person's name We don't want to waste our time..
I read somewhere that the real Aunt Bea was hard to get along with and caused the most drama on the show.
This is fantastic!
Bait and switch? That’s usually how these stories go.
You missed that the whistler of the theme song actually and literally was able to whistle the duet with himself. As a kid I was able to go to a school program where he performed, and met him afterwards.
Mr.Schwamp (12:35) looks like Jerry Mathers from Leave It to Beaver.
Seriously all this and it’s PICKLES 🤦🏽♀️🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Give it up.
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Please do research!!! It's Boo-vee-ae.!!! Why are you showing a picture of Jerry Mathers??? Why are you repeating info in the same vid???
They repeat stuff to make the video last longer. Short videos don't show up on TH-cam's algorithm.
Great Bio. Thank you 😊
Who did Ron Howard hate?
Even though the title is pure CLICKBAIT, I enjoyed hearing the ins and outs of this show.
@hale: but can we trust any of it?
Meh. They repeat multiple points and some of the information is wrong.
Andy Griffith played a very nasty villain in Murder In Coweta County. A fine and versatile actor.
They got along great and I miss them all , Howard is a genius film writer/ director- just wish he would remake the movie Grand Prix.
I’ve always been a big fan of Don Knotts
Figured out the scam too far into watching this. "The Ultimate Uncovered" is now one of my Never-Watch channels.
I'm glad I read the comments before wasting my time watching this video. Thanks, guys.
Lest we forget, Andy also played Matlock for 181 episodes, contributing to his amassed fortune.
Don and Andy being true buds. That's such a cool fact to learn.
i find it hard to believe that Ron Howard could HATE anyone
Ron is a great actor
Ms. Bavier's last name is pronounced "BAH VEE AY"!
I love this show and never tire of watching the episodes over and over. It's an epic example of how simply wonderful life can be and it teaches us that we should all be grateful for the little things in life, which can actually be the most meaningful!
Why did the video show Jerry Mathers (Beaver Cleaver) at 12:45?
Inaccurate story even though some is somewhat true. The still picture of Mr. Schwamp (12:46 and 13:10) is actually Jerry Mathers of Leave It To Beaver.
Why is Jerry Mathers shown as Mr. Schwamp in some of the pictures?
