Great video! You machinists can do just about anything with steel or metal. I am blown away with your talent, thanks for sharing, really fantastic. Don't let others belittle your work.--Joe
It seems like every time I check this gun out on UT, someone has a new upgrade for it. Fine job, your the first I've seen making his own parts. Talent!!!
Very nice job. Lots of work went into it. doing it as a passion must have made it all fun when you say your finished product. You got the pretty now get the power
I did similar work to mine and it does add more back pressure to the pellet. I have now added a 18" Barrel to my 2240 and the difference is I shot at a concrete wall 30 yards away and the Crossman hollow points are embedded in the wall where the smaller barrel only chipped at it. I am going to do a video soon.
Well done with meticulous attention to detail. I got my 2240 from MountainAirGuns and it's definitely badass...not THAT badass, though. They say the devil is in the details and I think you got it all covered...even down to the safety bar! Definitely something to be proud of. I know the law is tight on air guns in the UK, but all it needs now is a custom ported valve and a couple power mods to double the muzzle energy - do it justice and make it as dangerous as it looks!
@the1stbuilder65 Hi there. Happy you like it, The carbon fiber barrel shroud has more than just an aesthetic purpose as it now houses a sponge tube towards the muzzle end giving a good degree of sound suppression.
Thank You for your words of kindness and interest. As far as its value goes, I would say "priceless". It holds too much sentimental value to put a monetary figure on it. Thanks again....
@slaskespann : Hi. the crosman 2240 barrel is 7/16 inch ( 11.05 mm) diameter so you wont be able to put a complete depth cut thread on with 1/2" thread. i use 11mm x 1mm metric fine thread.
@FinalFightMedia Hi there. i bought this model makers lathe for £400 / $580 new with accessories. Its not the most precision tooling known to man but it does the job pretty good if you take small cuts.
@ritchierich777 thebarrel on the 2240 2260 2289 1322 1377 are auctually just a hair under 11 mm i make a ton of mod parts for these guns .. 7/16 is to large and 11 mm is just right for brakes with less then 2 thou of play so that is acceptable, but the auctual barrel OD is approx 10.45 mm to 10.56 average sizes i have seen
not bad at all mate, i like the breech, i myself am not a huge fan of those style bolts on a pistol, id rather a straight pull bolt but it does look nice on that pistol i gotta say. tbh i would have done the end caps and center bushing for the shroud on a 4 jaw chuck or without turning the bit around, 3 jaw chucks even when brand new can be inaccurate up to and even sometimes over 0.15mm if your taking something out then putting it back in. if the pellet is not dead center when it reaches the end cap hole then it could ever so slightly effect accuracy, all tho in saying that, if that's a stock crosman 2240 barrel then the bore is probably off center in the barrel anyway. not saying you done a bad job at all, just saying. i know this is an old video to comment on but what the hell, i can't sleep so this passes the time LOL
@deanshazramone Hi there. Thank you for your interest, unfortunately I am not making any parts to sell at the moment due to family commitments. As soon as more time for me comes available I will probably do small quantities of custom parts. Thanks again for your interest, it is much appreciated.
and someone mentioned a 12ftlb webly raider? lol my custom 1322 is hitting 13ftlbs with just a 14" barrel, still in pistol form to :) my next build will be a custom 2240 carbine with 18" barrel and every part money can buy, lol...these crosmans are expensive down the road but they turn out to be amazing guns that hold there value well
Congratulations that thing is gorgeous. If you were asked to put a $ figure on it what would you be thinking. I ask because I am very interested.I have a collection of high end and custom made air riffles and normaly pistols don't interest me much. Until I seen this one that is.
Just a suggestion... why not make it 88gram co2? Also a external hammer adjuster for velocity would just make it wild and formidable... and always have the option of the stock... and a magazine mod (sold on ebay) for led ball ammo ...sorry you just got my mind flowing...excellent mods you've done beautiful gun. Thanks for sharing. Let me know if you try any of my suggestions id love to see it.
+FedeKode ,i know that in the UK they have beautiful made air rifles n pistols. But how would anyone know if a person modded a air gun ? Really, you mean that someone is going to take apart to check the guts? i also know that in the great UK people got to do " the proper way" for some reason. i doubt anyone would take a bb or pellet gun and rip it apart. cheers.
@ritchierich777 Hmmm, looks like you had quite a bit of length after the end of the barrel, inside the carbon fiber tube. Did you fill it with...baffles? b/c that is what I would do... ;-)
Superb machine work! SOme guys call theirs 'custom' by just swapping parts. Yours is truly a custom gun! I am just getting started, with a stock 2240 and a Crosman Custom Shop 2300KT. Both needing some 'TLC'. You have raised the bar mighty high! Have you done a video of shooting it yet, accuracy and chrony testing vs a stock 2240? That would be most cool.
@SoCoMzXeLiTe HI. As far as I know you cannot buy silencers in US, but only barrel shrouds. i am in UK. You might want to try sd custom design or gmac custom parts both are UK based companies and send orders worldwide. Hope this helps...
Anyone know if a silencer/ suppressor would slow down the pellet on a 2240? does it? or hardly? anyone who knows 100% that it does or does not, please feel free to answer my question. thanks :)
I am only taking a guess here, but I would think that any device that has internal venting intended to absorb some of the discharged air pressure, which reduces noise, would slow the pellet. Reason being, is that a percentage of the pressure is being re-routed into the shroud or silencer type device. If all the air was forced directly out of the muzzle it would have greater pressure as it reaches the conical chamfer and propels the projectile. Again, not 100% but to me, it seems to make sense.
ApacheBows I don't know about air, but in firearm tests it actually increased velocity with 22LR. The reason behind it is it soft of extends the barrel, I think same applies to airguns. It would be hard to test with CO2 anyway.
nice! y dont you make it a PCP (PreCharged Pneumatic) so you dont need to buy co2 and it can also be potentially a lot more powerful! - although that would require some adjustments to the valve and trigger springs.
:-) to be honest I had a feeling you would say that. If I like a gun enouph to buy it I will never part with it. Oh and good call by the way that thing it awesome. I have a Welby Alecto .177 that works pretty good (full power) but nowhere as cool as your pistol
@SoCoMzXeLiTe I’d be very cautious about silencers if you reside in the US&A. The ATF may catch you and charge you for owning one. They will claim that it can be modified to fit a firearm. - totally wacked but true. The legal consequences are insane. They have no jurisdiction over air guns (neither are there any local laws) but anything that resembles a silencer will be prosecuted to the fullest federal extent. It would be the same as making a gun without a license. Check online….
I don`t seem to understand your logic...In what way would a barrel shroud, stainless steel safety bar, steel breech and customized wooden grips do to increase an air pistols power. As i said in the vid, no valve mods were undertaken. (hint hint)
Very nice job. I'd be proud to kill a tree-rat with that. Now all you need is a PowerMax-HiPAC to add power to the pretty. Check out the chrony numbers on the PowerMax-HiPAC Owners Forum
@citic101 THE ORIGINAL IS FULL OF IMPERFECTIONS , NOISY AND INACURATE PAST 20 YARDS , MY MODS HAVE MADE IT VERY QUIET AND FAR MORE ACURATE THAN STANDARD OUT OF THE BOX WOBBLY GRIPS AND ALL...
bkr360 your talking bull a 12ftlb webly raider carnt even do that and thay are a lot more powerful than your 2240 fair anough your 2240 may be powerful but not to embed a pellet in to concrete wall come on pal tell us somthing we might believe lol
Great video! You machinists can do just about anything with steel or metal. I am blown away with your talent, thanks for sharing, really fantastic. Don't let others belittle your work.--Joe
If I could turn back time I would want your knowledge and that CNC, then I would learn to weld, there is no limit. Very nice work!
It seems like every time I check this gun out on UT, someone has a new upgrade for it. Fine job, your the first I've seen making his own parts. Talent!!!
Bonjour de France 🇫🇷 super réalisation le canon avec le carbone est vraiment top bravo A salute
Very nice job. Lots of work went into it. doing it as a passion must have made it all fun when you say your finished product. You got the pretty now get the power
Great work and beautiful 2240. ...
You did an amazing job on this one and I hope you still have it and show it again.
i just started to mod 2240s and your work is awesome......
vert nice machine work man , good work allaround , i love these 2240 n 1377 s theres alot that can be done with them
Beautiful work and craftsmanship...well done
Very very nice. This is the sort of thing my brother would do. Very much respect dude.

@RodentsRapture Thanks man. I am working on another 2240 project 2 at the moment. HiPAC looks great.

dude awesome i wish i had one of those machines ..GREAT FREAKING JOB UR A PRO
@TheJohnnyairgun : Thank You. I have so many ideas in my head but my pocket won`t let me express it all in one go. haha
You are truly a craftsman!
Really nice work! Good job.
you should show it firing. thats badass by the way
this is very cool. its too bad a lot of people cant do this cause of the fact they dont wanna buy a multi thousand dollar lathe. but still bad ass
Thank You for your kind words.

Love it, why did I get rid of all my tools. no fun without tools.
Well done sir!!

@dman72799 Hi there mate...these are laminated wooden grips made by RB Grips in U.S.A. .These specific ones are RH (right handed) Target style.

Holly Shit Shoot! Is your daytime job at Smith & Wesson?
excellent precision and style dude!

love that 2240, the grips are to die for! how much were those exact grips? shroud looks amazing as well, great job on the build!

beautiful 2240! its just wat im looking for,can u tell me exsactly where to get those grips! i need a pair asap!
archer airguns
I think the best thing to do is sit down with your dad kiddo for a chat for him to explain the difference between a barrel and a barrel shroud.
Don't mind that music , tried to get up with crooked barn air guns , home phone works ,shop phone is not in service. I he still alive .
Very nice clean work....
I love the background music what is the name of that song..????
nice! y dont you make it a PCP (PreCharged Pneumatic) so you dont need to buy co2 and it can also be potentially a lot more powerful! - although that would require some adjustments to the valve and trigger springs.
So this pistol is all over the net..is it really that good??
@kriegmeister3000 Thank You for your comment, it means a lot..
hey you ever thought about marketing that??? I know I would buy one
nice. 2240.. I modded my 2289 to fire at 880 fps with $150 worth of parts lol
AMAZING!
man that's fucking sick!
Awesom
Very nice, but i cant help thinking id want a stock on it.
you are a god!!!
Imagine this: file the frame seam off and cerakote it and the air tube flat black.
the barrel is a fair amount longer, which probably added 50+ fps
Omfg TATU

Should made something to add a magazine
That's what I call true "custom" 2240!

Cool vid. Too bad about the music.
How much would it cost me to let you make me one of those

wow! I dont need viagra- I just watch this video!! nice Work man!
@kikstikdrum I wish it was ....
It is UK legal at 6 ft lbs.
with all those mods, how could it still be at 5 ft lbs?
my bad, i mean how could it still be at 6 ft lbs?

That song? really?????
Music is irritating
prove it
all good video,s spoilt by music
К сожалению, это не для продажи
A bit of narration would be preferable to the awful music. A nail pushed into the eye would also be better than that irritating music.
bkr360 your talking bull a 12ftlb webly raider carnt even do that and thay are a lot more powerful than your 2240 fair anough your 2240 may be powerful but not to embed a pellet in to concrete wall come on pal tell us somthing we might believe lol
The noise is terrible
mute it.
Music makes video horrible.
