I miss his reviews, and I've said before,..Rest in everlasting peace Kenny! I came here again to watch this one as I'm doing some work on my 2240 and maybe buying the 2300.
Nice video .I am a 71 year old vietnam veteran . I just got the 2300s with all the goodies on it .I worked at crosman in the very early 70s a few years after my return home . I plan to teach my grandson how to shoot .I have been in to air guns for many years . red rider at 12 years old I even got rabbits with that .I also have 2 of there real old 45 22cal peace makers .can't hit anything with them but they sure look good lol .I have the 1317 as well .. I live 4 miles from cross man I soon plan to start a golden age veteran air gun shooting team .well that's about it .enjoy all until later your friend Tim 👍🗽🇺🇸
Absolutely great video thank you very much I heard that you have passed. God bless I will say a prayer for you. Considering starting your channel exactly like yours but for all things of fun. Dirt bikes anything you know that makes the old people feel young again.
I've been wrestling with the decision to go with the 2240 or 2300KT for quirte some time now, and I came across your excellent video. You saved me some heartache, my friend, not to mention some money. I am in your debt!
I got a 2300KT with Williams peep sight, Lothar Walther barrel, walnut grips, long breach and compensator. It looks really awesome and accurate. I think I'll get some checkering on the walnut grips. They will also etch your name or whatever you want on the right side for not extra charge. They had a 20% sale and free shipping so it was $220 delivered.
I just ordered the Crosman 2300KT as per your video advice. Large scope, large breach etc etc came out to $225.00 from custom shop. I look forward to receiving it. Thanks for your review.
So sorry to hear of Kenny's passing. I sure appreciate anyone who can tell me how to stretch my now fixed income and get the quality that I miss from my powder burning firearms.
I actually tried to order one but Crosman refused to ship it since I share a zip code with Cleveland Oh. It didn’t seem to matter that I don’t live in Cleveland and we have no shipping restrictions. Iown about a dozen or so crosman and about half had quality issues, but I was willing to roll the dice on a custom build even though I’ve heard horror stories about Crosman customer service. I decided to spend my money on a air gun from Japan, and go with Pyramid Air who is actually near Cleveland but does not have an arbitrary "Zip Code" shipping policy.
Just did all these mods except scope and power adjuster. Put on open sights and BOSS RP valve and opened port up. Love it, like building it myself, however price is not cheap.
i just got a 1322 with the rifle stock, an 18" barrel and a fiber optic front sight, will probably put it together soon. thinking about a 2240 to go along with my vigilante, maybe get a longer barrel than 18".
Kenny I’m planning on ordering a 2300 kt with 10.3 barrel but in .177 , will the FPS be faster than the 460 FPS you got and will accuracy improve.? Thanks Rogerk
Couple of things you didn't point out about the 2300KT that make it an even better starting platform for customizing than a stock 2240. The grip frame on a 2300KT is ground down and finished whereas the one on a 2240 is rough and unfinished...it looks horrible and would take quite a bit of work to smooth it out to 2300KT standards. A second, and major difference, is the 2300KT comes with a two stage adjustable trigger with a built in travel stop. Neither of those options come on a 2240.
Wish I would have jumped on this when you posted this 9 years ago but I wasn't in the air guns because they're not even on Amazon anymore and if they are they're way over a 150 $200
It’s ok. We all continue to benefit from the library of work he left us. As for sights. The 2240 has the same sights as the 1377/1322. They are ok but limited in their adjustments. The 2300 series can accommodate a number of systems from traditional open sights to rail mounted optics.
Mike Bass, Now you’ve started it. I’ll go first. The simple answer is both. It is likely to cost you more to get a basic 2300/2400 and purchase the upgrades over time. But you can spread the cost over time as well. As Ken points out in the video you will save by buying a complete gun set up the way you want it directly from the custom shop. Time has passed since this video was made and even a basic custom version is around $99.00 (2240XL) but the cost of buying all the mods individually has gone up as well. I’m torn. I want a backyard shooter but already have a Big Box Store 1377 and would like a little better grips, and sights on my .22 version. I have not bought one yet (.22) but love the 1377. I would like .22 in my next purchase and to avoid the need to pump for each shot. I’m looking to create a backyard experience mor like that I get from my Powder Burners. I think Crosman is sold out right now but you can still get pretty much anything from outfits like Pyramid Air or Airguns Depot. Do some research. I got an email from Pyramid Air just today tempting me to buy a 2240XL.
My new 2300KT and 2400KT show the same frame mould lines and rough finish as my 2240 - no improvement here. Maybe they are skipping this procedure now? Triggers are no better - still need to do some smoothing of them all. I'm a bit disappointed as the guns do cost a lot more than the standard 2240.
Seawolf1090 how do you like the 2300 vs the 2400? I'm either getting a 2240 and keeping it stock or getting a custom with 14.6" barrel. I'd use it for backpacking out and just fun at home so I'm leaning towards the 2300 since I hear it's adjustable. can I just ad a screw to the 2400 to make it that way?
Check out Eagle View HD channel on TH-cam. I posted a video on how to make for less than $10 a very effective silencing barrel shroud for your modified 2240 or your custom shop 2300Kt or 2400KT. I am waiting for a new 2400 KT that I ordered.I might try using a carbon fiber tube instead of PVC tubing for the silencing barrel shroud this time.
What a waste of time and money. I got the Crossman Silhouette . I can shoot aspirin's at 25 yd with a 3 to 9 scope, worth what I paid for which was I were $325.+$90 for the scope.
It's the opposite buddy obviously the Silhouette is a big waste especially as a PCP but only giving 450fps very low for a pellet pistol that's 500 bucks that money could've been donated to a much needed charity ! On the other 2240XL or 2300kt hit much harder & cost way less & can always be modified as in looks & velocity power! Next subject!
Mr. Kenny R.I.P. His awesome airgun skills he shared will go on for a long time.
I miss his reviews, and I've said before,..Rest in everlasting peace Kenny!

I find it both sad and funny that when I am researching something I still end up with Kenny. I’ll save up a little more and order the 2300.

You did a great job. The price is very reasonable (cheap!) compared to some of the pcp's I've seen. Tack Driver. Thanks for the info.

Couldn't the crude writing be filled and sanded then painted, like bodywork on a vehicle..?
Great Job, i was thinking about buying this exact one so thanks for it.
Always great reviews my friend!

Great review. Thank you 👍😊
where did you purchase the scope &rings and what are the names of both of them . Or did they come together as a bundle.
I'm waiting on mine from the custom shop. total cost is 189.00 with shipping.
Is there as tell breach can let you use a magazine from the marauder pistol

How many foot pounds of energy does that 23 shoot or the 24 you have
6.26fpr with stock breech and barrel, and 6.72fpe with a 10.5" BARREL AND STEEL BREECH
Wish I would have jumped on this when you posted this 9 years ago but I wasn't in the air guns because they're not even on Amazon anymore and if they are they're way over a 150 $200
can you tell me how much difference there is between to stock 2240 and 2300T sights, please?
Kenny passed awhile back.
@@Tilbily I'm sorry :(

Was just wondering if you were from Canada because why would shooting a 22 in the yard be a problem as long as you have a trap and are safe
Sorry to tell you that he passed away a while back and cant answer your questions , cancer won .

I agree 100 percent. If you are going to modify your 2240, better to buy a Custom shop 2300 or 2400KT!
Thanks for the video.
with the steel breech did it come with the extended bolt which pushes the pellet in deeper
you should take a look at my custom 2240 carbine on my survival channel
