I lived him from that one weird superhero show were he was a weirdo. He's definitely a very good actor. One of those who just change completely in each role
Simon from Misfits was a lot more than “the weirdo.” He was a complex character. But yes Iwan Rheon has played many different characters, and characters that can also be the polar opposites of him and each other, and has a whole range.
There tends to be a real double standard when it comes to how viewers treat actors playing the worst deplorable characters, in this case how people are tempted to treat Iwan Rheon and Jack Gleeson terribly vs how much they'd worship Heath Ledger, Daniel Day-Lewis, or Austin Butler for playing some equally worse scum.
They made him become too much of a caricature at the end, gave him ridiculous armor to defeat characters that he shouldn't have only to die in the dumbest of ways 🙄 So anticlimactic, Jon and Sansa's victory rang hollow considering they got the plot armor Books are way better, if the old man would ever finish them 😭
I don't get it why actors are always asked about former shows when they just want to promote their new one. And it's not like these questions have been asked a hundred times before.. when the show was still running. Just make 1 or 2 comments about how you loved the performance in the old show/s and show more interest in the new one. Iwan is a great actor and showed it on more shows than GOT.
Hearing him talk about playing Ramsay and GoT or other work of the past like Misfits is always interesting, and he’s always very nice about it. I think he’s said it’s more annoying when it feels like some of the best know, most popular things take over. And he’s right. Since sometimes it’s all people want to talk about. I think it’s maybe more annoying when people pop up under all his posts, comment sections with GoT comments, memes, etc and ignore everything else, when he’s talking about other things he cares about or other projects.
