Thanks for the video. Pep Boys recommended the filter be changed on my 2010 Town and Country, bought one myself and when I went to change it I found this. Some models have it some don't. For models that do you'll see a flat cover that isn't screwed in.
I own two Dodge Grand Caravans (2008 and 2015). Both have two glove boxes. The 2008 has no cabin air filter, but the 2015 does have a replaceable one behind the lower glove box.

Which I should have remembered. The VW Routan (which is really a Chrysler Town & Country, just rebadged) did not have one either. But yes, Advance Auto will gladly sell you a cabin air filter that they say is an "Exact Fit." Really?

I was looking for the cabin filter went and could nit find it went to AutoZone they told me that it could be located somewhere left underneath the dashboard which I was not willing to open up your video helped out since you mentioned that these do not come with a cabin filter. The interesting part is that the manual that comes with the 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT shows that there is an cabin filter underneath the dashboard behind the glove compartment. This is kind of strange that they would provide a manual showing that it has a cabin filter however it does not have a cabin filter behind the glove compartment. I will return this cabin filter back to AutoZone
Well, dang it! My doggone mutt had a case of the runs, and now my dang van smells worse than a skunk in a barn. I reckon I had to double-check if I got that SXT thingamajig in there. Turns out I did, but I had to make darn sure anyway. And you're spot on, there ain't no filter to be found. Now, I'm scratching my head over that there string or spring thingamabob. My best reckonin' is it's some kinda counterweight contraption. Now, ain't this just peachy? Gotta mosey on over to TH-cam and figure out how in tarnation to kick that stench to the curb.
@@zuzannamilewska9215 So, REGARDLESS of the trim, there either is, or isn’t a cabin filter. My guess is that it depended on which line it went through when the van was assembled at the factory. Kinda like checkout at the supermarket, anyone can go to any cashier. So the bottom line would be to remove the glove box and check before buying a replacement filter.
2009 Chrysler Town and Country Touring also looks like yours behind glove box, no cabin filter! You'd think it would be standard on this top of the line model with MyGig navigation system, DVD, power heated seats etc but Chrysler pinched pennies.
FYI the 2009 Grand Caravan has the same cabin air system. Now. Does anyone know how and what to clean it with before I go electrical spray wild man on it
That's a great question. Sorry I don't have the van anymore. If it's not as cold anymore your freon may be leaking or low. Recommend you take it in to shop....DO NOT try to refill with the self bottles. I killed an engine doing that once.

I looked at several videos like you and saw that my setup was completely different and was about to go ripping further into the dash until I thankfully came across your video. Thank you for saving me a ton of time but what I don't understand is if this doesn't have a cabin filter then I have another issue with it blowing hot air. Any thoughts or suggestions? I thought it was my cabin filter plugged up
I have the 2010 Chrysler Town and Country Touring. I ran into the same problem. I bought a “cabin filter” from Advanced Auto, and it turns out...there is not one🙄
The one thing I despise about my van is that it does not have one. Especially since we are rural. The grids are awful without a cabin filter. Mine is SE trim.
Except it does have a cabin air filter option, yours didn't come with the option. Same with my old Galant. They don't know until they open it up, they recommended it based on mileage.
You’d have to know what type cabin filter you have. If you buy an upgraded one they can be cleaned. Cabin air filters come in cloth, carbon and paper. Paper filters should always be replaced, never cleaned. Some cloth and carbon filters are reusable and can stand up to a wash. Using a hose on low pressure, direct water from clean side to dirty, sweeping top to bottom.
Spoiler Alert: This caravan doesn't have an in cabin filter even though the stores and shops will sell you one. :-(

Your evaporator is probably loaded with dirt and dust. You'll just have to find out how to clean it. Good luck. I have the same problem.

Removal of it completely and use an air compressor to blow it out. You can also use ac coil cleaner on it too
