People care way too much about staying relevant with creating drama these days and I believe a lot of the issue with all of it is the viewers who eat it up, they love it! I had a medical incident I was recovering for 6 months from work in 2018 and I was watching for the first time on TH-cam the Beauty Community like Patrick Starr, Nikkie Tutorials, Manny MUA, James Charles, Tati Westbrook, Jeffree Star and I thought to myself is there a beauty guru in New Zealand and that's when I saw YOU. I had subscribed to your channel since 2018 and watched a lot of your old content so I can understand you (I cried when you cried when something happen to your dogs, the death of your Grandparents, laugh when you get tongue tide, get envious when you open your PR packages, get hungry when you cook your dinners and make your endless coffees or smoothies) I've invested my time in watching you grow into "Adult Hood"as you mention in the video LOL. Shannon, can I thank you as a mum and as a follower for your lovely comments re all the drama. You are so right to be staying out of it and also to be fed up of it all. As you say, maybe the people involved need to ask themselves why they're always in the thick of the drama? The words attention seekers spring to mind.
As for yourself and the other you tubers who don't encourage drama, you are a joy to watch. You're a great role model, hard working , level headed and you care about your content and what your viewers and your business wants and can give. Struggling extremely here. Currently in Stage 3 lockdown here in Victoria, and cases increasing by the hundreds each day. It's really difficult for a lot of people, but I feel fortunate to be in the position I am, living at home and studying. My heart goes out to those who can't support themselves fully, or who have been severely financially impacted. And for those whose health has been impacted, it's horrible. You guys are really lucky in NZ, just make sure you're still careful. Because we thought everything was okay in terms of easing restrictions and then suddenly the next thing you know, the number of cases is climbing.
I adore winter though, the cold is so refreshing and just amazing. And honestly, it's a more convenient time for COVID to hit, when more people would be staying indoors anyways. But I'm glad you're all doing okay in NZ. Love the final look!

I live in Oklahoma. We have 3 seasons: hot, cold and tornado. There’s really not much transition, one day it’s 20 degrees outside, the next it’s 90. We don’t really get snow, we get ice. Rain usually comes in the form of severe thunderstorms, but it’s beautiful here, at least I think so.
We just now have cities declaring mandatory mask in public, 4 months into the pandemic, seems like closing the barn door after the cows got out, but okay, and people are losing their minds over it. My husband and I are both considered essential, so we’ve been in it from the get go, life is just really strange right now.
It’s hard to find positives, but I am thankful we are both still employed and our family has managed to stay healthy.
I have religiously watched you from pretty much 1 year in. The reason I stick around is because you’re to talented, so lovely, and just so authentic!! I am proud of you Shannon, and I admire to be as hard working, genuine, and awesome as you! Thank you for being so real and showing us the good, AND the bad, appreciate it. Definitely hire a day-of person for your wedding so your friend can enjoy the day and have someone else be the “bad guy” as far as making sure vendors are there and paid, people are in the right place for photo, and certain details that are important to you are in place!
You're so right about getting wedding done and not waiting for things to clear up cause nobody really knows when it all gets better. Some things shouldn't be put on hold because of that. Especially when it comes to getting married and starting a family the way you have envisioned for a long time. Getting together for the anniversary to party in some time when it all settles down is great. It is something to look up to. Good luck with all the preparations Shan! :)
I have been watching you from the beginning. I loved that I was supporting and watching a fellow kiwi. I felt like I could relate to you. We are the same age and it feels like we have gone through life together. My hubby laughs at me when I tell him you feel like a very old friend.
I have just 'popped' out my first baby, I understand the anxiety you talk about as I went through this myself. Just trust your body and try to relax and enjoy the process. The more you think about it the more likely you will be to struggle.

Shannon I have to say I absolutely agree with you!! I have followed your channel from the very start of your YT career. I am one of your older subbies. I found you when I was helping one of my high school aged daughters find appropriate beauty channels to follow. I was not allowing her to just have free range online bc I heard of how toxic it can get. Plus she was at that age where fitting in was crucial to having a smooth experience in high school. So I really loved your personality and the way you were very authentic. Here we are a decade later almost and I personally have followed you and watched each and every video you post! My four daughters ALL adore you and watch you still but I have seen you grow here. You’ve become such an incredible inspiration to young women. I adore the relationship you and Hamish have. It’s so healthy and you give off such positive energy and set great examples. As a Mom of all girls ages 26,24,17,12 , it really makes me happy to know that you’ve stayed in this for so long. I know you must gain new subscribers daily and I hope they actually go back and see where you started from and that they respect your hard work. Spring is pretty, but the sun gets to me and it’s often hot then as well since I live in Southern California. I have a condition called Porphyria, so I really can’t handle sun and heat. My parasol is both pretty and essential’

I started watching you when I was 14, and I'm turning 23 in a few months. You're my favourite TH-camr and the one person that I will watch every single video for. Over the years my interest in content creators has changed, but you have literally been the only constant one I follow. I never usually comment because I don't want to sound like I'm sucking up your ass or what not, but Shan, you're fuckin incredible.
I also grew up with you. You taught me how to do makeup and even though I watched you for YEARS before I even bought makeup, I somehow learnt skills and tips from you. When I ended up getting into it, I wasn't so far behind, and I felt empowered by your videos. Your brushes are the only brushes I have and they're amazing. Same goes for lashes, lipstick, and highlighter. I grabbed both your BH palettes but sadly wasn't able to grab HoS. I'm looking forward to your new stuff so much!!! I couldn't wipe the smile off my face when you were talking about it aaaah!!! I’ve published so many comments on this video but I just wanna say that you are constantly proving how incredible a person you are. you’re so down to earth and kind and generous and intelligent and skilled and I really relate to what you’re saying like I’ve been realising that I really am such an empath and I have for so long been hurt or gotten disappointed because I thought people were so much better or when people have drifted from me I’ve not been able to fathom how they could as the person they were when it’s really like how I saw them and that if they didn’t have reason to show a different side of themselves with me so I didn’t think that side existed and it’s like mourning that person that’s still alive but it’s just not who you thought they were or you thought they’d care more or try more or whatever and I know I don’t have a lot to say that’s really that supportive but you’re really an outstanding woman and it’s a pleasure being a part of your group of followers; you really are the real deal.

I’m glad you’re so positive about this! My cousin just had her wedding, they had to change the date twice but they couldn’t wait anymore. It was really stressful cause our entire family couldn’t come. But at the end of the day we had a great time and we knew everyone back home was thinking about her happiness.

I’m in Aus and I haven’t left home at all in 4 months as I have health issues. It must be amazing to be in NZ right now. Very jealous.. we were so close and I was just about to go on my teaching placement before everything started again.. it sucks that the majority of it was caused by the deliberate actions of a few.
