When I do these jobs I use tap water with an l5 heater and constantly fill tank from customers supply Gives me a reason to have a break while it fills up lol Got one to do Tuesday with only a 450l tank so gonna have a couple of breaks I do spray cladding first with screwfix no nonsense degreaser with a backpack while tank is filling up Then 2nd day is windows and pressure wash pathways so will use pure then
Thanks for talking this through Dave, it’s always a head scratcher trying to work these things out but glad to see you came up with a great plan and ended up with a great result
Maybe used the pressure washer as a rinsing tool . regulate the pressure right down or use a large nozzle orrifice ( black tip or pink tip ) or a soft wash pump or similar delivering 4 gpm plus.. you could have used softwahing for large parts of that building
Not bad ideas. I did consider those options but with using low pressure hi volume pump the water was only available from one very slow tap so I don’t think it would have kept up and I would have needed at least 200meters of hose. I couldn’t have Softwashed it as they didn’t want any harsh chemicals going into the drain system.
@@squeakycleandave1 you made a good decision dave... This is where maybe having a a big water tank available like they use for solar panel fileds may have been extremely beneficial. but these big jobs probably do not come very often .. come .. I think a lot of people learned something here about the ebenfits of heated water .
Excellent idea Dave using that water heater, it have the very same heater on my campervan back door, for washing the dog. They work so well don't they. Great video really enjoyed it,. Thanks for sharing this .
Until you get used to pricing these types of job always go in higher then you think just in case anything goes wrong, time spent waiting for money, time pricing and doing RAMS etc. It also depends how badly you want the job.
Spot on job Dave I have the 6lpm lpg shower I'm gonna upgrade to the 18lpm one and use it in conjunction with jet washing as my machine runs at 15lpm it's gonna be great for wet pour ect
Be careful as drawing water through this type of boiler may cave in the core. Check your machine can use hot water as it may affect your seals and hoses
Great job Dave I’ve done quite a few jobs like that are tough on your body.. I pre wet the areas, I use a injector with the slightest amount of vision added litre water and 10mls of vision will provide 200 litres of water.. on a job that doesn’t have water drainage issues.. I add titan green to the injector at 100mls .. a I would rinse off cladding with hose after you’re scrubbed down 👍 deserve a beer or 2 👍
Old water went into the heater from a hose. The hot came out and into the tank in my van. Since the van tank is insulated it kept it warm. It was then pumped through my hose reels
What a great job, I bet that took it's toll on your body. Great to see a gas boiler used outdoors in a safe way, great idea. Did you do a test to see how long it would take then multiply up your hourly rate and the square meters? Nice to see something more unusual. Well done, I hope you had a good rest to recover.
Love your thought process, you look to do your jobs not cheaply but efficiently. Couple of questions: Would propane be a good fuel as well or do you use the gas for another reason? Would soap that is environmentally friendly have been usable? Have thought of doing this for a couple of years now, think I will give it a go this year. Thanks for the personal experiences and tips Pyramid Window Cleaning
Hi Leonard I used propane as it was easily available and a much cheaper set up then using diesel. as this is the first one ive done in 15 years and may not be asked to do another I didn't think it was worth a massive outlay for one job. There are environmentally products available which may have helped slightly but when I did the test panel the dirt came off so well I decided against using any. It was a much harder job in terms of wear on the body compared to window and it defiantly made me ache but if you price it right it can be a good earner. Hope that helps Dave
Gi mate how much would it be per qm? Im looking in to doing this as a add on to my window cleaning but wouldn't know where to start with pricing. Any tips would help massively 🙏
It can alter massivley depending on the area you live, how dirty it is, the amount there is to clean, access and restrictions etc so you can't really put a price per meter that would be right for every job. The best thing to do is when you go and price the job do a test patch. make sure its a big section and time how long it takes. Then work out how much you want to earn an hour. Remember when you do the test patch you are fresh so will be faster. Add in time for site visit, writing risk assessments and method statements, time traveling, Fuel etc and you should be able to come up with a price.
Hi Gordon. The shower was producing about 6litres/minute and that was going into my tank then with 2 poles it was going out at 5 litres/ minute so no problem keeping up
Dave, id like to get one of them boilers for my static home, where can i get one from and what make is it ? and can i use your name as recommendation ?
I use a Canon 200d, a GoPro Hero7 and my iPhone 12 for filming. I use iMovie for editing. I use Epidemic sound for music and I use Canva for thumbnails. Hope that helps
I worked out the area and tried to work out how much I wanted per square meter then added a bit to make up for time spent visiting site, extra equipment I needed and time spent doing RAMS

Absolute back breaking stuff dave! You deserve your wage for that one! Brilliant video, one of the best I've watched. 😍☘️

Done a job just like this (2000 square metre) last week, find it difficult to price it per metre.

Fantastic job dude!! Hard graft that. Cracking stuff

It's a graft isn't it. Especially horizontal cladding! I always price more for horizontal. Vertical is lovely to clean.

can you explain more about the hot water process

hi dave how did you split the hot water coming out to your 2 poles thanks
The hot water ran into my water tank so it worked as a hot water buffer tank
