That cat though! He looks very comfortable in there 😹 Hope you finish this project sooner than later, the birds are going to be very happy and thankful for your hard work, I look forward to seeing how it all turns out 🐦
Thanks very much! I don’t have much time during the week to do anything with it, and sometimes weekends get busy. I really want to finish soon though, getting tired of looking at it just there. The cat was really loving it ☺️
So cool Bro! I have this birdbath as well. The bottom part stayed in pretty good condition, the top bowl weathered with all of the paint dissolving leaving the cement surface which cracked and pitted areas. I ended up painting it with a high gloss white Marine paint used on boats which seals it, fills in the cracks, and makes it waterproof. it's supposed to be safe for birds as well.
@@Zapowerwithin What? You have this same birdbath? Okay, tell me something, is an actual birdbath or was it a water fountain at one time? It took up so much of my time to get it to where I have it now, I knew nothing about what I was doing as this project was not planned at all. This is the kind of advice I was looking for and trust me, I looked everywhere and many of the information I got was contradicting, so I decided to do it my way with the bits of information I could extract from the many I looked up. I think removing he paint was the worst part of it, oh well. Thanks for that information for future reference! 🙏
Oof! So many layers. Hang in there! Hopefully it will be done before you know it. Thank goodness it’s structurally sound. The birds will love a clean place to drink and bathe. ❤
Yes, it’s in quite good condition for its age and I guess the paint conserved it to a point, just some minor cracks here and there which can easily be patched up. Thanks very much for the well wishes and can’t wait to see the birds enjoying it!
Just a suggestion if the paint doesnt completely come off... You can rent a power washer from a big box store. You should be able to power wash it safely using water. Also, there's a rubberized black spray which could conseal and seal the bird bath. Anyways, good luck with your project! Im sure it will be FANTASTIC 🖤🌹💀🌹🖤
Thanks very much for the suggestion! Have you ever used a power washer before? Does the paint fly all over the place? I will look into it, otherwise I will leave it a little rough looking, my main concern is the bowl part and I might have to build it up a little as it looks a little rough, and plan to seal it with either tung oil or a type of sealer, never heard of the rubberized black spray, but sounds like sealer that could work as well. I plan to stain it and maybe use a little paint as well. Thanks very much, I will post something when I’m done with it. 🙏🙏🙏
@@RavenPoe-bz7qx You know... The power washer does make a mess but for me it worked! I can't wait to see how your birdbath turns out. Oh! I don't know if you have a Jo Anne's Fabric store where you live. If so, they have brought out their Halloween merch. The weird thing! It's already marked down in price🤨
@@TheEnchantedWoodnymph1111Thanks for the tip! 🙏 Okay, now I have to check out Joan’s, I was actually going to take some paintings there to get framed, but ended up go to Hobby Lobby for the lower cost 😁
Thank you for sharing Birds will glad 😂 So nice video 😂😂
