You are the kinda person I need in my life. Good mindset, good personality, hard working, and you know how to learn. A lot of technically smart people never have to work at it or develop learning skills/habits so they end up functionally being much less capable than others. Honestly, i hope to be more like you.
Man you don't know how much your content is being helpful. Really thank you so much for being open and honest about such sensitive topics . Please consider having a blog ❤❤
Wow man I dont even know where to start, your wisdom has blown me away. As someone with learning disabilities, autism and BPD but relatively high IQ everything is hard for me and people overlook my issues because they dont see any reason why I should be stuggling. Keep doing what youre doing, you're a really great guy whos inspired me to keep going today.
“Try to be happy where you are right now. “ fantastic advice, even if it is hard for us to follow sometimes. You’re a great speaker and very inspiring, maybe you would enjoy helping others overcome challenges like you have already. Just a thought, like working with the mentally challenged or The elderly as a nurses assistant. Here in the states, there are not many prerequisites to becoming a certified nurses aid. You may even find an employer who will pay for you to further your education in a specific area. You’ve inspired me and I admire you. God bless and wishing you the best!
I work as an Auto detailer in a bodyshop. I love my job..But, I don't think I'll do any better. I'm afraid I'll do this forever. I'm getting bored. I don't want to flip patties again. Alcoholism is also an issue... 4 full glasses a night for sleep.. (wine in a tall beer pitcher) I Wake up, put fresh pants on and head for the shop. I don't see a happy future for me.
I can relate. I have been fired from almost every job I've ever had. Eventually I started praying. A lot. I pray every minute to God to help me in the smallest of everyday tasks in my life and in my job. I'm given nudges here and there, or sometimes, I'm supplied with the answer I need to solve the problem I have at my job. Life is still very hard and I will never rise higher than I am now. But I'm really happy. Please, look up the life of St Joseph of Copertino. Low IQ saint who eventually made it.
First of all, thanks for sharing. But alcohol-induced sleep isn't proper sleep. Alcohol and cannabis suppresses your bodies ability to go into deep REM sleep and if you aren't having restorive REM sleep with lots of dreams it's a problem. That and cognitive ability is affected in those that don't get enough sleep or enough quality sleep. Alcohol literally kills your braincells, affects memory and increases cortisol release (anxiety and stress). Alcohol is a depressant and studies show that when not drinking, drinkers have higher releases of cortisol. If you have too much cortisol activity it can cause weight-gain and stretch marks. You know alcohol is an issue but maybe you don't know, poor sleep is an major issue too. So, alcohol is actually destroying your chances of good sleep. No wonder you are going into work with low esteem. (by the way, I'm not a professional, I just listen to professionals) Two podcasts I recommend: Andrew Huberman who is a professor at Standford, and nueroscientist and Prof. And, Prof Matt Walker another nueroscientist and expert in the filed of sleep. They both are superb at explaining complex things in simple ways. both a charismatic and easy to listen to. Best of luck.
I hope you’re doing better since this comment. By the end of my drinking I was on a heavy usage of alcohol and edibles just to go to sleep every night. It gets progressively worse and just isn’t sustainable. Been sober since June of last year and life is a heck of a lot better no doubt about it.
From what I’m reading, your attitude is poor. Alcoholism doesn’t help. But, if you can work for someone else and afford the booze, what’s stopping you from buying some detailing supplies? Buy the supplies and start your own business detailing. Do it as a mobile type thing. Drive to office buildings and such, and offer your services to the people at work. You’ll have to hustle, but if you’re good at it, you can build a decent clientele, and they will do the marketing for you. They will tell their friends and family who gets their cars so clean. Your phone will ring. And it’s no different than what you’re already doing, except it’s your money, not the body shop getting richer off your back. Point is, you CAN always do better. But you can’t get better unless you want to.
Subscribed. I like you, bro. You seem like a good man, and honest worker. I don’t care about your IQ, if you’re a good worker, I love you as a bother/sister/comrade! We can do anything when we work together! Don’t worry about your IQ, it was invented by the people that lord over us and take everything we as workers make!
You are very positive, enthusiastic and driven, which is your true gift. If you didn't have these traits you wouldn't have gotten where you were. Even though you really struggled in McDonalds, you actually worked hard and made progress, and that tied in with your positivity and enthusiasm were likely, at least partially, why you were kept on. Also, don't be discouraged by the fact that you could only work on a few stations, I'm sure the stations you worked on you had mastered. Even smart people struggle with certain types of work. I am above average IQ (I forget the score) but I would really struggle with working at McDonalds, in fact likely have similar issues as yourself, however I have nowhere near as much drive s you do. Don't get discouraged, your doing great so far!

I worked at Wendy’s for years before going to college. We had a guy who was an engineering student in University, he put an aerosol can on the hot grill… to which I quickly noticed it and knocked it off the grill asking if he was trying to make the place a shrapnel gallery… for those of you who don’t know aerosol or spray cans when heated can explode… you’d think an engineering student would know this, but turns out he didn’t. My sister is very book smart as well, while I struggle more… my sister also doesn’t have a lick of common sense while I have it in spades. The bookies don’t always know best and good for you, for trying and wanting better and wanting to work… which is so much more than a lot of people today! You’re awesome in my books and you have a really great attitude and you’re open about things! Keep up the great work, Man!
I think you would be a really good behavioral tech working with individuals who are neurodivergent sense you are able to relate. Just a thought. I am one at a facility where the patients are on the spectrum and every day is a challenge because there behaviors are different from day to day (obviously because we’re human) but it keeps things interesting. I really appreciate your videos and hearing things from your perspective. Keep up the positivity and the optimism. Sending much love from Erie, Pennsylvania 💜🇺🇸🏳️🌈🇦🇿
I just stumbled upon your videos. I have only watched 2 so far. You have such a positive attitude and clearly have a good work ethic. I hear you say you have a low IQ which may be true but you make me think of so many people I know that do not have a low IQ but are failing at life and unhappy. Just the fact that you can determine the small goals you need to accomplish and work to do so seems like a super power in contrast to so many people I know that are fully abled but falling short of their potential. I often find the extra thoughts and internal noise of my thoughts may be hurting me more than helping. There is a lesson to learn from your experience my friend and honestly it may be more of a challenge than I'd like to admit for a person with a higher IQ to step out of their own way and stop sabotaging themselves. I envy your focus and ability to simplify things and put them in perspective. To be honest the traits you are showing are exactly the qualities I repeatedly hear are the cornerstone necessary to reach high levels of success in life.
This is my uneducated opinion, but, I feel like even in your first video I do not truly believe your IQ was really that low? You were able to put together a video with a clear beginning and end, you explained well and coherently, you planned *and* you reasoned/could tell what effect your IQ had on your work and life. You realised that making smaller steps (reading for 30 mins) actually made you go faster! That's smart. I feel like I think you may have a bit higher IQ but also some issues like maybe learning disorder or attention deficit disorder which makes it more difficult for you to learn, especially on the job where you can't do it your way. But now you have learned yourself how to learn and thus a 'better IQ' Anyway, you additionally are a very likeable and positive person which are great characteristics too!
some ppl can communicate very well w a low IQ because that might be all they spent their time learning to do. IQ is kind of arbitrary and biased unfortunately
Having been at both end of the scales due to serious health stuff, the one thing I can say is that it often appears FAR easier to communicate to outside observers. When I talk about the fun stuff I like (Which is still pretty much all science/tech stuff), when my heath was good and I was talking with people, something like a social media post might take me a few seconds to a minute or two. That same topic/post can now take hours and even then it sometimes still sounds semi incoherent. People will often tell me that they don't see any issues, but then I ask them to actually pay attention and watch for how often I give up on explaining something or have to pause for extended lengths to get things sorted and they clue in. The same happens with my youtube video's I do. People probably think that I have no issues with dialog, but I do. I literally record them one or two sentences at a time and stitch them together (Takes about 12 hours of work to do a 10 minute video) and edit out all the stupid sounding "ums" and 30 second pauses while I try and figure out where I am. On the bright side, it's a lot harder to be sad about the world. Mostly because I can't remember what I'm supposed to be bummed out about. Lol!
@@WsciekleMleko: I got a pile of serious life threatening infections that lead to a condition known as CFS/ME. I had bloody dysentery for about two weeks, then I got a serious jaw infection that put me in the hospital for something like half a week. At least, that's what people told me. I have no recollection of most of it. But these all happened within a month or two of each other. I had mono the entire time on top of it. Somehow, it turned into CFS/ME and it's only gotten worse over time.
Working a minimum wage can also be challenging for people with a high iq as well knowing it can be boring/repetitive and exposed to the worst human behaviors as well as being too self aware enough to accept those realities…
My advice is to apply for next level well paid challenging jobs anyway even if you don’t meet the criteria in the listing. A lot of the time you can get hired without a degree or experience specifically in that job, if you can interview well and come across as potentially a good fit for the role. Maybe study the basics of it beforehand, as you do have to know enough to give a good impression and have some relevant skills. Then you can quickly try learn a lot if you get it. People get hired all the time for jobs they’re not actually qualified for and some can then make it work, others not. I worked at a company where a marketing director got hired on for a very high salary and after a few weeks on the job it turned out he knew next to nothing about what he was meant to be doing. But had he studied more after landing the job he might have been able to stay on and make it work.
Watched a bunch of your videos this evening. You are a smart guy. You should look into how IQ isn't the overarching benchmark of intelligence it's made out to be. You are clearly proving this by being a bright, engaged and involved person. Never forget that a happy life is of equal value, so make the most of it and have fun.
I’ve managed to keep jobs that I was in no way qualified for by working harder and having a better, more positive attitude than the rest of my coworkers. Many bosses will work with you and help you learn if they see you really want to do the job and are willing to put the effort into it.
Do NOT NOT believe you were mentally disabled. You're well spoken and clearly have reasoning skills ... if you increased your IQ then you're the first human to do that... it's not like behavior change is going to fundamentally change brain chemistry.
Did you read "flowers for Algernon"? Your video reminded me so much of it, it's about a guy with low IQ that starts working in a bakery and writes about how he likes it and etc. I won't spoil the book but it's really interesting for me to watch your videos after reading that book
As someone with an above average IQ, you have taught me a very important lesson: you don't have to be smart in order to be happy and wise. I totally agree with what you are saying. I have often thought in my life that I would like to be a helicopter pilot, but that this would not challenge me enough in order to feel satisfied. Right now I'm in college trying to become a physicist. The work is challenging to me and I'm very glad to be where I am, but damn it would be nice if it was simpler and I could just get any job and not be bored. Thank you for being so uplifting.
I’m curious about that as well. You bring up a valid question. There’s a lot of outside factors that can severely impair the brain’s capacity to learn, retain, and develop. Like a lack of nutrition, lack of sleep, psychoactive substances, maybe even medication that’s prescribed, and overall lifestyle.
It is not luck lol No matter the job, normal people like hard working, willing to learn, loyal folks who leave the ego at the door. Plus after watching your vids I'm guessing you scored 100% on demeanour and customer service, you got that secret sauce of good energy. Can't learn good vibes
Why you need to constantly remind yourself that you have a low IQ. I think this makes the situation more complex. See everybody is different and have different ways of thinking about things. You don't fill yourself fit in a situation means you may be shy. And people who thinks differently are often shy. The term you can use is lack of self awareness/ lack of clarity in thinking. Everyone needs help and you are no different.be proud of what you are and truly explore yourself.life is to be cherished not to be worried brother.
Mark needs to forget about his I.Q score, it just pattern recognition which anyone can train for. I hope Mark retests with a psychologist so he can get over this psychology bump that is holding him mentally.
It's like being overweight. Part of working on it, is being aware of it. He is not making it a negative/depressing thing - quite the other way around. He keeps a great spirit! Lack of self awareness would be the result of forgetting one is overweight. That you feel the need to euphemize/sugarcoat it is what gives it a bad connotation! I feel one of Marks amazing traits is being so positive! There's nothing wrong with having to wear glasses, or not having a high IQ! I hold him in much higher regard than a lot of smarter people that use their intelligence to take advantage of others.
Can I ask about some of things that you did to improve your I.Q.? I believe you mentioned reading 20 min a day. What about physical exercise or other activities?
Bless your cotton socks. My IQ is borderline r*traded but I have a knack for medical stuff. Like medicine. Can’t do maths to save my life and I’ve got ASD as well so I can relate. Bless you for being so honest about the struggles. Sometimes I’m more scared of succeeding than of failing because you always have to do better and what if your best is it. Nothing more?
follow online free courses and read at your library or buy books if you have the money also get a job which encourages you to think very logically like a programmer you can get payed for setting up someones software and the best thing is you can get the text from the internet
I think I might be a bit ignorant of the situation. Is having a low IQ considered a mental disability? I always assumed it was more like a mental disability would potentially cause someone to have a low IQ. How did you start rehabilitation?
Kinda tells you how IQ doesn't take into account the person’s education and/or culture which means it can give a false interpretation of the individual skills
Hey bro, Get yourself a Bible and read or audio a part of the book of Proverbs a day. Take it slow and understand it. So much wealth of knowledge for everyday life that will help you on your journey. Give your life to The Lord and he will help you. Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
i have news for Mark: you're not mentally disabled. you can talk, walk, film yourself, read a book, do a job. if any body is rooting for you, i am. i have an uncle on one side of my family that's a Chairman of the Board at JP Morgan, on the other side of the family, an uncle who's a Mechanical Engineering Professor. My own father is a retired doctor. my IQ is almost exactly 134 - no exaggeration. that means i'm 1% of the population in IQ. but, there are a lot smarter people on Earth, as well as real aliens (watching us - not crazy talk, either; i do not believe in God). i don't see much difference between Mark's ability to talk, and express himself, and my own words. he just keeps using too many 'Ahms' in his speech, is all... as per Mark's difficulties when facing new challenges - that takes patience and preserverence, something Mark seems to have in abundance, greater than average - by a lot; it is strength.
Dude, I saw the video where you've called yourself stupid but it's not the reason to be upset about. Look at the president of the USA and his vice. You are genius compared to them. Don't give and maybe one day you will become a president too

Did you read "flowers for Algernon"? Your video reminded me so much of it, it's about a guy with low IQ that starts working in a bakery and writes about how he likes it and etc. I won't spoil the book but it's really interesting for me to watch your videos after reading that book
eye opening, thanks
As someone with an above average IQ, you have taught me a very important lesson: you don't have to be smart in order to be happy and wise. I totally agree with what you are saying. I have often thought in my life that I would like to be a helicopter pilot, but that this would not challenge me enough in order to feel satisfied. Right now I'm in college trying to become a physicist. The work is challenging to me and I'm very glad to be where I am, but damn it would be nice if it was simpler and I could just get any job and not be bored. Thank you for being so uplifting.
That’s where the phrase “ignorance is bliss” applies.
The lower the IQ, the higher the chances, you are depressed... @@southerntrendkiller2632
Do u feel like any internal factors influenced ur IQ result when u took it in high school? Less sleep? Just wasn't feeling up to it?
I’m curious about that as well. You bring up a valid question. There’s a lot of outside factors that can severely impair the brain’s capacity to learn, retain, and develop. Like a lack of nutrition, lack of sleep, psychoactive substances, maybe even medication that’s prescribed, and overall lifestyle.
gigachad! keep up the good work sir.
Rehabilitation after a head injury
Having a learning disability is the medical condition for having a below average IQ to a point where it becomes significantly challenging.
mark. Do you have a witter account. If so put you that and any other social media you have in the descriptions. Keep up tje great work.
Did you really improve your IQ its impossible to improve your by 20 points in just 15 months IQs only improve 3 points per decade!
My guess is that he initially took the IQ test through a psycologist, and then re-took an online one. Online IQ tests are inaccurate.
IQ test is lie 100%
@@timmothyjennings that's the only rational explanation I have I could see for these radically different results.
@@greatgreat601 IQ is only a small portion of intelligence anyways.
Myth
It's not only about IQ. I think I have extremely low EQ. And having low EQ is much more dangerous than having low IQ.
Facts 👍
Average people have an iq of 85-115. You just learn different but big up yourself doing it. (:
Only just found your new channel. How tf have you got so many subs and comments now
Try hyperbaric oxygen chamber treatment
holdup ive eaten at that exact mcdonalds
Also a little more Sunday sunshine
Wonderful advice, you sound like a decent person.
Kinda tells you how IQ doesn't take into account the person’s education and/or culture which means it can give a false interpretation of the individual skills
But, you are able to put sentences together. Where do you get thrown off? How can you get confused?
Hey bro,
Get yourself a Bible and read or audio a part of the book of Proverbs a day. Take it slow and understand it. So much wealth of knowledge for everyday life that will help you on your journey.
Give your life to The Lord and he will help you.
Proverbs 3:5-6 NKJV
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
i have news for Mark: you're not mentally disabled. you can talk, walk, film yourself, read a book, do a job. if any body is rooting for you, i am.
i have an uncle on one side of my family that's a Chairman of the Board at JP Morgan, on the other side of the family, an uncle who's a Mechanical Engineering Professor.
I doubt everything you’re saying.

Are you doing the IQ tests through a psychologist, or simply through google?
Online IQ tests are very inaccurate.
He's said he has done it through a licensed professional. He mentions not having done any online tests.
Reference from another video of his.
Dude, I saw the video where you've called yourself stupid but it's not the reason to be upset about. Look at the president of the USA and his vice. You are genius compared to them. Don't give and maybe one day you will become a president too
how do you improve your iq???
I read for 30 minutes a day 6 days a week.
