- Finger Coils is the perfect protective style for short natural hair that's not quite long enough for other protective styles. This style not only protects your hair from the elements, but also gives your hair a break from daily manipulation which is important to retain growth.
The Finger Coils lasts up to three weeks with minimal maintenance. I simply oil my scalp once a week, gel my edges when I feel like it, and sleep in a satin bonnet. I use to do finger coils every 2-3 weeks years ago..then I grew my hair our...cut it...grew it again etc...I recently cut it again and I tried to put in crochet braids for an upcoming trip. However, it's just not working...My hair is so short my cornrolls aren't really tight..the edges are strong enough to hold the hair...I'm loosing hair left and right and it's causing my too much stress and I haven't even left for the trip yet. I decided to take my crocher braids out...4 day before i leave for vacation and I'm going to wear my twa...wasn't sure how it would look coiled...but I found your video and I love it. Thank you for confirming my decision to rock my twa with coils for my vacation!

It looks great! Glad I found this. I'm going next week for loc consultation and my hairstyle is similar to yours. However I've been growing it out so the sides and back have about an inch or so, so hopefully it can work with comb coils or something to start my locs.

Wow I loved this!! I know you said it took about 2 hours which doesn't excite me but the fact that it last about 3 weeks, not bad!! I'm debating between doing this and comb coils. Thank you!!
You’re welcome. I find that it’s easier to use your fingers for really short hair. I actually prefer using my fingers to do the coils over a comb ❤️
@@GlamMzMore I tried the comb on my little brother and it was an experience. Took about 2.5 hrs and it wasn’t bad! I might try the finger coils on his back park next time bc it was so short

Okay thank you. So moisture and twisting is the key... Has anyone ever used that Gorilla Glue? I dont have gel like eco gel . Also, the only thing i have to lock in moisture is a coconut oil/tea tree, lavender mix i made.
You’re welcome. I wouldn’t use Gorilla Snot Gel to do finger coils. I only use it for edges as it’s pretty thick and flakes a lot. I feel like it will look bad fast

My fingers cramp up these days too, so I get it. But it’s worth the effort since the style lasts about a month

@ladyxx5385 nope. I just start washing and detangle with a wide tooth comb. The coils wash right out
