  • The phenomenon is called the Fujiwhara effect. Named for Japanese meteorologist Sakuhei Fujiwhara, who originally described it in 1921. If two cyclones pass within 900 miles of each other, they can start to orbit. What happens next depends on the size of each storm.

    Soo...they either end up 1) ball dancing
    2) fornicating and creating a super baby or
    3) avoiding each other like past lovers with a history. Got it.

    I think we can learn a lot from black holes by studying hurricanes. Think of water as matter in space and the hurricanes as black holes. If black holes don't eat matter they eventually die, same as hurricanes, when they don't swallow water (the ocean) they will eventually die out over land. Of course black holes are much much worse and way bigger haha. Still, there are some parallels between the two systems.

      The math is similar. Both are chaotic systems orbiting a central attractor. For galaxies, it is the supermassive black hole. For hurricanes, it is the low pressure zone. Similar math leads to similar structure and behavior. There are important differences, of course, like the Coriolis effect and dark energy, but the briad spiral structure is similar.

    "Climate change will affect the hurricane season. How it will affect it no-one knows"
    Wait... What?
    Did that little piece of info mean anything?

    • @arkwolfluis
      @arkwolfluis 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Kobus Downey nowadays from September untill the end of the year is considered to be the Storm season as most of the strongest storms registered happen during this time.
      But with small changes on the weather (specially longer Hot seasons) it may cause drastic changes at long term for these kinds of Phenomena.

    • @Re1ikGaming
      @Re1ikGaming 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    • @LincDN
      @LincDN 6 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Re1ik except that we know that man made climate change is causing more frequent and stronger hurricanes. Don't try to equate baseless idiocy to proven science.

    • @seahpo6737
      @seahpo6737 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Re1ik Ah, you don't understand how hurricanes are formed.
      Hurricanes form when they are over warm water for a sustained amount of time. The hotter the water, the stronger the hurricane. The longer they are over said water, the stronger the hurricane. Climate change is causing the oceans to warm up. Thus, warmer oceans = more and stronger hurricanes than before.

    • @kobusdowney5291
      @kobusdowney5291 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      BobsGuns except that we dont know if its man-made or not.
      I know of many dissenting scientist who dont subscribe to that. We know too little about the weather. For all we know, it may just be a cycle. Besides, a small temperature change on the sun may change our climate, which may explain why we see warming temperatures on mars, pluto, neptune etc. I doubt you could blame man for those planets.

    Can two hurricanes cancel each other? If one spins clockwise and the other counter clockwise?

    • @globalcitizen5768
      @globalcitizen5768 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The answer is it won't happen. Two hurricanes with opposite rotating directions won't be formed side by side. The direction of hurricanes in northern hemisphere is anticlockwise and in southern, it rotates clockwise due to the coriolis effect. And since coriolis is a must for hurricanes to be formed and coriolis is absent in the equator, hurricanes cannot cross the equator and travel to the other hemisphere.

    If Hurricanes Colide. it will get increased of Stronger force of Winds like 190 milles or more 200 and powerful like 900 milles as a Category 6 or 7 and 8.Unless there no catagorys like this only to 5 as The National Weather Service said.We will sometimes in our future Hurricanes might collide or merged.Thank you Tech Insider I've seen the Video when it was Uploaded.
