Bill and Sue: A Co-therapy Team Approach to Conjoint Sex Counseling (Ortho Pharmaceuticals, 1973)

This presentation demonstrates a co-therapy approach to conjoint sex counseling with simulated interviews with the couple and the aid of diagrams and graphs. This program stresses the importance of each member receiving support from the therapist of his own sex. Drs. Avinoam and Beryl Chernick, in addition to their role of sex counselors, also assume the roles of the patients, Bill and Sue Williams. The Williamses have been married three weeks and were referred by their minister for sex counseling. In the initial interview the couple discusses their courtship, marriage and honeymoon, along with their current problems. The doctors mirror and model their actions during this interview. They are interviewed separately by the therapist of their own sex to explore their feelings and to receive reassurance. The doctors then discuss their findings from these interviews to determine the ego strength of each member and to determine whether or not to continue with the counseling. The results of this discussion are explored with the couple and the vaginismus-impotence cycle is described. In the second interview, the couple are then taught basic anatomy, sex education, and the principle of pleasuring as outlined by Masters and Johnson. In the third interview the physiology of sexual response is explored in detail and methods to achieve relaxation and ejaculatory control are described. The couple describe their experiences and are given further encouragement. In the fourth interview the Williamses describe their improved relationship with each other. Two additional counseling sessions are requested by the couple. The importance of maintaining their effective pattern of communication is stressed. The therapists briefly summarize the results of these sessions.

I am watching this because I am fascinated how this subject became the most important thing in our lives/relationships.
What feelings is "having.s.x"? People can go to woman and pay her to have s.x. What feeling is involved here? 🤔
S.x should be love "in motion". Thats how I see feelings are involved.

You needn't concern yourself with those feelings; they'll never be your burden. This Bill Williams, though, has been married three weeks before starting therapy, and prostitution's illegal in the U.S. That said, it's a pity more single men can't just pay for sex and get it out of their systems, versus stewing alone all bitter and turning psychotic.
