I bought the ZV-E10 mark I and bought 3 better lenses for the price of the mark II. The mark II for the price I would jump for A6700. In my opinion. Or choose Mark I, if I was concerned with the budget. It is a very good hybrid camera. Have a mechanical shutter when Mark II does not.
Kensei what you with about buy Sony 24-105 f4 for ZV e1? I have 74 with tamron 28-75 g2 and want more versatility at focal range. And I think tamron is more yellow l, Sony is more natural. I shoot business interview and podcast at studio
The main appeal of the A6xxx series to me was their compact design. If you bulk it up then you might as well get a high resolution full frame body and shoot in crop mode. I was going to get this when it came out - I had been using a6000 for donkey's years as my go-to travel camera. But having had a look ended up getting an A7R 4 second hand for the same price instead.
Oh yeah I totally forgot to mention it but it tends to overheat. Well not exactly overheating which makes the camera stop recording but it got easily high temperature.
Since u have extensive experience in shooting video with the Sony FX30, do u feel that the Sony a6700 can actually compete with long term video shoots? Have seen other reviewers who mentioned numerous problems of the Sony a6700 overheating & shutdown. 😎😎

With a6700 and fx30 being so similar in terms of specifications, I am interested to hear your take on which camera is for whom, especially since you have shot a photography project on an fx30, and I feel very wary about the absence of the mechanical shutter. I am currently a film student with aspirations to work on video projects, but my current job is mainly concentrated on photography. My current ZV-E10 has served me well so far, but I am looking out there to see what is available. A6700 seems like a great choice for creatives like me, but I am worried about lack of 2 sd/CF-express type A cards and micro HDMI port with raw output (IDK, might want to have an option of using it in the future). Equally, on a FX-30 I am worried about the lack of a mechanical shutter and I am wondering whether viewfinder makes a big difference for photography (for video I will likely purchase an external monitor soon, so not such a big issue. I would love to hear your thoughts in regards to these differences, since you have had both, and your thoughts in regards to how important those differences are in a professional workflow of different types of productions.
I bought one in japan for 170 000 yen so about 1100€ (damn its 1700€ in France wtf). Even though it's only on japanese language, i did some tricks to get all the languages so no warranty but the warranty is Japan only so heh. :DDDD

It is a perfect mid-range camera that people expect to compete with bigger, more expensive full-frame cameras because it is not Fuji.

How often does it overheat for you?
Difficult to say how often but when I kept doing record and stop for about 1h, it showed the overheat warning

welp, to resolve the exposure problem on apsc, I bought 1.2 lens… Never had problems since then
