Hugs and kisses always does the trick 😂😂😂😂😂
Oh that is perfect, I will remember that!!
Definitely
#4 is the key.
Using the drill to sink the netting poles is pure genius, you may have saved our whole netting situation!!!!!
If he did not mention the drill bit, its for masonry or setting driveway markers. Its possible to drill into a gravel road and set a fiberglass marker stick.
Great job on the turkeys... according to Pete on Just a few Acres Farm, that kind of clicking chirp is Turkey for "Hey look i found something new and good". Your turkeys got out of the crate onto the grass and first one, then another, then soon all of them were making that click-chirp. So cool!
At least you are trying to help them, what else could you do.
Good job!
I like the sounds turkeys make. Mostly soft and relaxing. I like your laying hens, new and old. They are so pretty.
The hugs and the kisses make the biggest difference! :)) Blessings!
So great to see turkey success. Scooners work well. The turkeys are enclosed and can roost at night while not crowded and are mobile. 🦃❤️
Turkeys make the happiest sound. looks like you are going to have a good year with them, provide some grit now that they are on egress. Be Blessed
I found that when I was raising them it was the heat that made the biggest difference. When they’re young, they get cold easily. I had a mama raise 14 of them last year they all survived.
HUGS AND KISSES always works for me. LOL
It’s definitely the hugs and kisses! Good changes.♥️👍😎
Oh, wow. I wish our low tonight was in the low 70s, lol. Ours is in the low 98's lol. North Central Texas btw lol
no bueno
😎 we are warm here in SoCal. But we are so happy to watch all you share.

You rock!
Yep, from the central coast of California near Vandenberg Space Force Base!!

Awwwww, hugs and kisses are the best! 👏👏🥰
Jason, thanks for making me laugh!
my pleasure
I love ALL Sow the Land videos!
The discovery of grass! The turkeys are looking around like ‘what’s this’. Love their chirps!
Very pretty laying hens. Glad your turkeys seem to be doing well for you...hope that keeps up. I'll bet it feels good to use that new fence you put up for part of your perimeter. I really does look professionally done. Y'all have a Blessed day.
You do such a good job with your channel. You have found your niche. I have a couple of favorites that I watch and you’re one of them. I just like the humor you add in.
Jason and Lorraine, your farm is looking GOOOOOOD! And if I can say that when you have been in a borderline drought, imagine how gorgeous your pastures will be after some decent rain. 😄👍💜
Justin Rhodes found another dead turkey so put them in the coop and closed it tight put goose outside of coop then fenced it very hot and the hawk had the nerve to fly down and sit by the coop trying to figure out how to get in but couldnt so flew away... that is one determined hawk hugssssss
You will be amazed at difference with the nutribalancer from Fertrell. I use it on my birds, heritage Rhode island reds and crevecoeur. Glad to see better results for your turkeys!
turkeys are a pain to grow, seems like every one says that, lets hope they stay healthy hugsss
We've had terrible survival rates from hatchery poults, but just had our first mother-hatched ones and they're at 100% so far 🙏🙏🙏
How's 🇨🇦 🍁
and you doing?
I hope I can visit 🇨🇦 again.
I was born in Toronto living in Michigan
Hope your Well.
Been awhile seen I've said hello. GOD BLESS YOU Tammy
Wishing you the best of luck with these turkeys. God bless.
Thanks 👍
💕💗💕🙏🙏🙏 Have a blessed week!💕💗💕
I love their chirping. Their sounds are soothing.
Hi..... Jason and Loraine thanks you for showing your video homestead bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋 bye 👋👍👍👍
Extra vitamins and minerals in your chickens means more vitamins and minerals in your family!
We use that nutra balancer for our pasture pigs too. Good stuff to help keep them all healthy and happy
Awesome video. Glad to see your success with the turkeys. Looking forward to more videos on them.
Thanks 👍
Glad you have found some ways to increase the turkey survival rate! I used to raise turkeys but the Toms attacked my children so I had to quit. Now the prices of ducks and turkeys are so high and the feed costs on top of that I am sticking to chickens and local ducks people give me.
Thank you for this update!
Good luck with the turkeys.
We too in southeast NC have a heat wave and no rain. Maybe tonight we might get a little rain!
Hi Jason we raised turkeys for the 4H fair. We found that if you raised the water and feed as they grow help them.
We had one that my daughter took for the fair it weighed 65 pounds. We were in pressed. Good luck
thx for ur video, it was enjoyable
Great information about raising your poultry; thanks for sharing! They all look very healthy & well cared for. Blessings to everyone 🤗🇨🇦
Your egg layers are pretty chickens 💜🦋
Hi, Jason! Glad to hear your turkeys are doing well. I pray for your family in the loss of your sheep as well as success with your turkeys. You haven’t lost a Turkey since I started praying for them to thrive.
Did you pray for the sheep as well?
Dry weather solves many problems that wet days bring. How are your in-laws doing?
Thanks for the video!
I bought (3) Bronze Dbl Breasted turkeys from TSC and feed them 30% GameBird feed. The best thing I do is feed [Vitamins & Electrolyte] in all my water feeders [Mann-Lake & some hatcheries sell these packets]. I recently saw another video advertising a poultry blend added to water, the guy said it helps with the uptake of nutrients. My chickens are doing very well with the blend of feed I'm using (mixing grower & Meat-bird in different ratios).. When I was a young man, my employer would feed minerals mixed in the salt and swears it prevents his cows from a miscarriage with a better calf crop, the same is true with all types of livestock.
Sow the land and roots and refuge Best on the tube
You still getting beefy boys
Good continued luck with the turkeys
We use Fertrell's Nutra-balancer and it is great. We use their beef balancer for our cattle too.
Is that hormones? Is it legal to use hormones to raise farm animals?
Another lovely video.
The property looks so good ❤😊
Good changes for both chickens and turkeys, should do it. Tks for video.Much love to ya.
Great video and good luck with the turkeys
Everything seems to be working ❤
Birds are looking good ... farm looks good .... family looks good ... dang Son you got the life! Enjoy your videos family
Turkeys are bunch of babies...our poults got pneumonia and we lost 6 out of 25...we have had to put them into our garage for a week because of the amount of rain...as soon as the heat came, they all went back into the pen and on grass...strange summer for poultry...Cheers from Maine.
Can you recommend to new poultry keepers that all chickens, turkeys etc need grit in their diet so they can digest their food ,it’s essential to grind food in the gullet.crushed oyster shells; buy it in big bags ,is traditionally fed to them .and it helps form strong egg shells for hens and ducks
QUESTION: are you feeding the supplement to your layer hens also? Great to see the turkey's thriving, I love the sounds they make.
The hand drill to make holes in the ground, that’s a crazy way to aerate your pasture, dude. Lol. 😅😂 whatever works.
🐝Thanks for the great video 🌻
thank you for sharing ❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
The chickens are so pretty.
Good day.
Have a nice day
Jason, how's your speech coming along on "PREPARING CHICKEN COOP" ???
PRAYING FOR SAFE AND FUN TRAVELING TO IOWA. 🙏 ❤❤Turkeys and chickens are happy.
I'm looking forward to 53
FRIDAY SHOPTALK.
Miss seeing Lorraines parents❤❤.
SE MICHIGAN 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏 🙏
Nutribalance also has probiotics! Read that label! So many good things.
I use the Fertrell breeder supplement and love it-- in fact I had to back off of it- it increased egg size x2.---
I learned quite quickly that turkeys don't like wind on them Air Force they don't mind a little bit of heat but blocked the wind otherwise they said the huddle and then make it sick and they go quickly
the farm is looking good. 🇦🇺🎸⚡️🤘🏾🤘🏼💋💜
Need to get some calcium spread out over your land that will soften your land up make sure you check your pH to know what type you need!
Fertrell is excellent. It makes a difference on egg layers and I noticed a diifference in my flock of American Bresse.
I’ll be curious to see what the numbers of cost versus production are in the end. Thanks for sharing!
🤗🤗🤗
Norfolk Turkeys Breeders UK are near me I am going to check out how they grow theirs on but i bet they are kept indoors till quiet big
rainwater is different as well, thought about that?
But my son introduced me to ground turkey meat in a hamburger. Very good, I'll bet fresh ground turkey would be great.
Has your dog pressure improved with the new fencing?
no dog in sight 👀
I’m worried about the wire spacing on the top half of that tractor. 😳
👍🏻👍🏻
😊😊
You can hydroseeding
Looking at your setup got me wondering if pulling your netting power from the "hotter" perimeter fence is what killed your sheep. I looked back at your sheep video and saw that you also drew power from the perimeter fence. Just a thought - I don't know how much hotter your perimeter fence is, nor if there is a better (lower) setting for sheep. Cheers.
You’re looking really great Brother and your spirits seem high which is awesome. I’m fighting the Big C battle as you have in the past and I’m always wondering how your fairing in that aspect of your life.
Last year you had some issues that you don’t seem to be having this year and I’m so happy for you if that’s the case!
Your wife seems to be doing well and I hope you all are and if so I’m so happy for you!
You’re moving forward with the homestead very well! You’ve got a lot accomplished and under your belt thus far and your property is doing great for you!
Your hard work is really paying off and not only for you but also for your Mon-in-Law and her husband although he hasn’t been in many of your videos this year so I’m wondering how they are doing.
Just know that I pray for you and all of yours as well so may God continue to Bless and keep you and yours!
I’m just so happy for you!!! Frankly I’m also very proud to see how far you’ve come along and have gotten accomplished . You’ve given me hope and the strength to continue to move forward in my own battles and life so I thank you for setting such a fine example!

👍
Never grew up eating turkey meat
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
The first year we grew birds we didn't really consider how much freezer space were going to need
nobody ever does 🤣
Question...Do you compost the birds that die and if so does that cause predator problems? And...Our "Little Nasty Squad" (Cornish cross) do not get hugs and kisses. I feel like they've been neglected. 😂
Do you give them a dust bath?
I have seen videos where folks were raising "exotic poultry" and they all died - turned out it was mites that killed therm.
Do you give them grit?
😁
Are y'all doing any Jersey Giant chickens?
Where do u get ur minerals for ur birds????
Jason I don't comment but maybe some grit would help your turkeys. if you have not already tried it.
yes, always
where do you get the high protein feed and minerals from?
Now I know where my food comes from. I usually eat my dogs bun-less. Thanks to electric fencing
🚛🚛
Will the extra protein help the chickens get their feathers back. They seem to be lacking something
that is normal for that breed.
💝💞💕💖
I am increasingly not in favor of those electric fences anymore. Animals get tangled up in them and die a terrible death. Today you mentioned the dog, other times it was your lambs, but I also hear that from other channels. Perhaps they could be used in conjunction with some other fencing, sort of like a back up to keep predators out.
Our first time we lost 75%!! We have not tried again.
I raise chocolate turkeys. They seem pretty tough in my experience.
is that dark chocolate?
I have no idea why some of the homesteaders we watch have difficulty raising these type of turkeys, I find them quite easy, and not as fragile as the cornish cross chickens honestly.
good for you
☁️ There is a vast difference between observation and intention. 🌦️🌨️💦
🛢️💃
Do turkeys need grit??? Kinda like trying to chew your steak with your dentures still in the glass on your nightstand! 😆🤣
yes, grit
🤣😂🤣
