it's actually insane how quickly the tables turned on Jokic. I was getting pushback for saying jokic was better than KD and Kawhi just last year after the '22 szn that he had lmao. Same. Ive been saying Joking will be one of the best centers of all time for like the past 3 years. People used to look at me like I was crazy lol But I'm easily taking Jokic over any center all time. Shaq being the only one I might wanna take over Jokic due to his pure dominance. But Jokics offense is damn near flawless and he can do it all. He's right up there as one of the best big shooters ever, as well as easily being the best passer ever. Also knows how to create space for teammates, unlike a lot of older big guys who just posted up. I've also been taking Curry over Magic since about 2015 or 16 lol another thing people slowly started to agree with over time. Which again just seems like an easy pick to me. He just tortures defenses and creates so many opportunities for teammates. Magic is obviously amazing and the better overall player because of his size and defense. But Currys shooting, ball handling/ability to create his own shots, and off ball movement are damn near unmatched. Curry, MJ, LeBron, Duncan, Jokic. Best all time team imo. I feel like shaq would be a liability in today's game that has tons of spacing. Centers need to be able to spread the floor. Something Shaq never did. With old school rules I'd probably take Shaq though. Always seems crazy when people pick lineups like Magic MJ LeBron Malone and Shaq. LeBron being your best shooter just seems like a terrible lineup 😂 yet I see this one a lot. Feel like they'd just get torched by 3s in today's league

Best scorer has just turned into an aesthetics conversation, which "looks" the best. It's why KD is held in high regard for being able to hesi tween splash (lmfao), when guys like Jokic, Luka, and to a lesser extent even Giannis won't get the credit for their offensive production. Which is crazy because Jokic and Luka are offensive HUBS. Luka is way more heliocentric, but those guys are walking high level offenses.
I would say KD has an argument over Luka because doesn’t need the same heliocentric system for his production. Also does it at a better efficiency than Luka in terms of scoring. But Luka makes it close with his playmaking but KD can pass the rock too. But as for Jokic? Nah KD’s not better. Jokic is up there with Steph offensively.
@@AstroSullyKD definitely is not on the same level of playmaking like Luka and throughout his career most def has not shown the same level of playmaking that Luka had shown, as scorers they are comparable but playmaking Luka easily takes it
@@isaactutu3490 Of course but Luka is not on the same level as KD in efficiently scoring the ball. Also Luka’s numbers comes from his heliocentric play style. I think KD’s argument can be made from the fact he can produce his offensive game more naturally than Luka. I’m not saying Luka is definitively worse just that it’s very close when you analyse it. Sometimes we get too infatuated with the 30/9/9 statline. Cause I personally think KD and Prime Harden (Very Similar to current Luka) were neck in neck in offensive production.
As a Celtics fan absolutely sure Tatum is a great player and the Celtics are 7-2 rn but mostly our offense has been incredible because of everyone not just Tatum but I'd never put Tatum over Luka because Luka is carrying that Mavericks team with alot less
Ok ur point means nothing bc what does carrying have to do with anything he’s the best player on that Celtics team he’s averaging 30 and has the highest plus minus in the nba so what’s ur point
Man I totally agree Believe or not with everything you say and KD was one of my favorite players of all time but he's far from the best offensive player right now Luka hands down
Well, Perkins is hired to make bad takes that could take our minds blown. He's the token hire in espn. His takes were so bad, it could be in the headline.
First of, for getting Jokic and Doncic right i give u A+. Secondly, for being reasonable in your assessment i give you A++. I think it`s sad that you people find more accurate information and more sane commentary on the NBA on youtube than on ESPN and other `professional` media outlets...
Personally I think Durant is the most overrated player in NBA history. He is a great offensive player, but not to what these “analysts” push. If Durant was that good he would have lead his teams better. OKC with Russ and harden, Brooklyn with Kyrie and harden. He can score, that is it.
You are 100% correct, in my opinion. You called it. Tatum is a poor ball handler, poor passer, good scorer. KD is better - but not enough to make a top 5 offensive player. I think Jokic edges Curry for one important reason: turnovers. I won't give Jokic extra credit for his size - though it is incredible that a man that skilled can do all that he does. But GSW might be able to beat the Nuggies in a seven-game series. Jokic will get his, but the Warriors will know to tire him out. Steph has better endurance, and his insane gravity and movement without the ball do as much for the Warriors' offense as Jokic's elite passing and offensive boards. Either way, those two guys are at the top. Luka is a close 3rd. Tatum and KD are elite scorers, but they are not top 5 in general offense. How's this for a controversial statement: Chris Paul deserves to be in the top 5. He has taken one of the worst benches in the league and, with only a couple of role player roster tweaks to help him, turned it into what may be the best second unit in the NBA. 38 years old and still hooping at an elite level, unlike LeBron. Paul sees all, makes great decisions and doesn't turn the ball over. Perk is an embarrassment. I might be one, too, with my Chris Paul pick. Oh, well!
But guys. II know that Perkins doesnt means as he talk. This is everything for the show. One guy thinks in one direction, other in oposite... Without confrontations, simpel no show. Sorry about awful English.
Stephen a smith is even worse he hates Luka 😭😭 he tryna push the Tatum narrative on TV because he’s American. Yet Tatum is on his 3rd superteam already & now has 3 OTHER All Stars lol
In all of Tatum's years, the Celtics have never been a super team. A super team configuration is two superstars + 1 or more all-star level players. I think Tatum is a superstar now, but Jalen Brown definitely is not a superstar. Even when they had Kyrie, they weren't a super team.
@@QuestionEverything562 you don’t have to a be a superstar in your eyes ,I bet he ends up averaging just as many points as Bosh did though and KP is definitely a factor and right now he’s averaging 20 ppg 6 rebounds and 2 blocks a game
Jokic at 3, and Luka not there is an abomination. I think I’d say it goes Jokic/Curry, Curry/Jokic, Luka, Haliburton. These are the top 4 guys that I think *guarantee* high quality offense no matter what. The best combination of floor-raiser and ceiling-raiser (many call it gravity, latent value, generation etc…). And the role players around these 4 guys are elevated to much greater offensive value, because the defense is forced to over-help on the one superstar. Curry, Jokic, Luka are all obvious, but I think Haliburton deserves to be here. He has no weaknesses on offense based on the things that you can expect from a point guard. Embiid? KD? Booker? Lillard? Trae?
Perkins is only on for the controversy. Gets views. He isn’t a good analyst. The league is more and more like pro wrestling. Not a game so much as a show. The rules aren’t even enforced anymore unless it helps the spectacle
As. Mavs fan the only reason Luka gets disrespected is because of this incompetent franchise I bet we'll regress again next season I'm going to enjoy this season tho
@@Tophergr8if you’re talking about his defense please pick something else more relevant. He’s been consistently getting better and he’s arguably having his best defensive year this year so far.
Can we talk about NBA players privilege. There is ZERO, I mean NEGATIVE chance that Perkins gets the platform to talk about basketball if he wasn't in the NBA. So many relatively unknown articulate people with better ball knowledge and conversation skills can't get a position as a basketball analyst anywhere, much less ESPN.
@@UnoDinero95001 Giannis is definitely better than Embiid offensively. Embiid is more versatile as a scorer sure, but Giannis can score just as much as him with "less of a bag", plus he can lead the break and constantly put pressure on defenses and he's a marginally better passer than Embiid. We've been seeing this in the playoffs for years now where Embiid doesn't play up to his regular season standards whereas Giannis almost always exceeds his regular season performance.
Just my humble opinion from what I've seen, but I'd go #1 Jokic with a significant lead, #2 Luka, #3 Curry (But Luka and Curry could easily be flipped. Too close and too early to tell ), #4 Haliburton with a clear gap between the top 3, #5 Lauri Markkanen. I could definitely see someone picking Embiid at 5, but KD on the list, especially at 1 is just hilarious. A lot of season left. I guess will see. Do you think ESPN pushes Perkins to have ridiculous hot takes and be arrogant about them or at least put him on the air because that's what he does? Maybe he does it himself, because he knows it's good for views. Or maybe Perkins is just a stubborn buffoonish idiot and ESPN has a knack for hiring clowns. Him and Stephen A make Americans look bad. Like we don't understand basketball or basic logic. At least Stephen A is occasionally right. I don't know about everyone else, but that's not who I want having an impact on and voting on MVP.
Top ten offensive peaks no order steph, mj, bron, Kobe, Larry, magic, joker, KD, harden, luka… Harden should get an asterisk cuz he’s the biggest playoff dropper on the list.. but undoubtedly had one the best offensive peaks in the regular season….
Luka is the most complete offensive player in the game. Great passer, great vision, extremely high basketball IQ, plays at his own pace, can get to the basket whenever he wants, unlimited range, the best footwork in the league and it’s not even close, wants the ball in the crunch and delivers. Perkins was an underachiever as a player and is even worse in his current role.
Comparing peaks doesn’t work because the way defense is played is different. Difficult to compare eras where one you could rip somebody head off and the other you tap somebody and it’s a foul.

How is Curry not minimum top 2 is beyond me. Curry not close to these guys? The greatest shooter ever? Best off ball player on the offense? Has a TS% that rivals a efficient machine big man like Jokic? Come on man. Offensively Steph got no holes.

Tatum is not top 5 I'm sorry
I use to agree with Big Perk on almost every thing he says but today u lost me bcus u got it all the way WRONG here. Htf is Kd the best offensive player in the League and most of all. Luka not even on the list when he should be 3rd at least or number 1. U tripping Perk😮😮😮

Only us white peoples are racist.
Bro, its useless to even ask that question. Youll never know or have any proof so why even bring it up? It just riles people up
The fact that Perkins wasn’t included in the ESPN layoffs this year is a crime against NBA media
Let's be real, Kendrick Perkins would not have put joker in the top 5 if he wasn't a center
He just has to cause he won the title with one of the most dominant playoff runs in history
Perk would not consider to put any person that has a pale skin on his list if it would not be regarded as xenophobic and he knows that.
@JohnnytNatural like when people say Harden is a better offensive player than Wade? Scorer? Maybe but not overall
@JohnnytNatural that's some shit we do in soccer to prevent a Handball..it was wild seeing that in BBALL
@@johnmorales6281Harden did lead the league in assists twice
There is a reason why people like Perk work for the media and not for basketball teams.
Luka is way more heliocentric, but those guys are walking high level offenses.
no lets get this straight at his peak he is one of the best scorers of all time but right now him being this high is just straight lying
@@AstroSullyKD is not better than Luka
Perk had to have meant scoring, there’s no other logic. And even then he still missed Luka
"No marcus smart, no problem."
He's saying thay like they downgrade.
They traded him for Holiday amd and got Porzingis now.
Tatum isn't carrying
As a Celtics fan absolutely sure Tatum is a great player and the Celtics are 7-2 rn but mostly our offense has been incredible because of everyone not just Tatum but I'd never put Tatum over Luka because Luka is carrying that Mavericks team with alot less
Ok ur point means nothing bc what does carrying have to do with anything he’s the best player on that Celtics team he’s averaging 30 and has the highest plus minus in the nba so what’s ur point
@@hunternichols9463exactly I’m a Celtics fan too and definitely wouldn’t put Tatum over Luka. Perkins is an idiot
They should play the song "send in the clowns" as KPs intro music.
Kendick sets the race back decades.
Man I totally agree Believe or not with everything you say and KD was one of my favorite players of all time but he's far from the best offensive player right now Luka hands down
The white hatred in the NBA is getting ridiculous lol jokic also gets ripped
Well, Perkins is hired to make bad takes that could take our minds blown. He's the token hire in espn. His takes were so bad, it could be in the headline.
First of, for getting Jokic and Doncic right i give u A+. Secondly, for being reasonable in your assessment i give you A++. I think it`s sad that you people find more accurate information and more sane commentary on the NBA on youtube than on ESPN and other `professional` media outlets...
The biggest problem i have with this aside from Jokic not being #1 is Giannis being left off the list entirely.
He’s not top 5
the problem for perkins is that the other guys came from europe Its every time the same
No Antetokounmpo is crazy ‼️😩🤦🏾♂️
Giannis is a complimentary scorer
Giannis is not a great half court scorer but he would be 5th on mine instead of Tatum and KD, while SGA, Curry, Jokic and Luka would be the other 4
European tip of the week: If you want to heal your country you need to call out racism from all ends... 🙄😬
Perk is not top 100 during his time
Personally I think Durant is the most overrated player in NBA history.
Oh, well!
you had it until that chris paul statement 😭

Stephen a smith is even worse he hates Luka 😭😭 he tryna push the Tatum narrative on TV because he’s American. Yet Tatum is on his 3rd superteam already & now has 3 OTHER All Stars lol
3rd super team? Don’t get me wrong Tatum for sure doesn’t belong in a convo offensively with Luka but to say he’s been on 3 super teams is crazy😂
In all of Tatum's years, the Celtics have never been a super team. A super team configuration is two superstars + 1 or more all-star level players. I think Tatum is a superstar now, but Jalen Brown definitely is not a superstar. Even when they had Kyrie, they weren't a super team.

Being disrespected by the worst NBA analyst isn't too bad.
Love your analysis. You should be working at ESPN instead of Perkins and get paid millions.
Jokic at 3, and Luka not there is an abomination.
I think I’d say it goes
Jokic/Curry, Curry/Jokic, Luka, Haliburton.
Embiid? KD? Booker? Lillard? Trae?
Gianis Jokic Embid tatum and shai is the current top 5

Replace KD with Nash and this list is perfect🔥
