Taking the time to just thank you guys for the support on this channel. Looking for ways to do these types of videos on a variety of yachts and see if we can make this TH-cam channel more of a full time thing. A reminder... I have close to 30 videos to release of daily life on board this yacht. Coming soon!

Would still like to see more of the actual yachts interiors he's caring for . maybe it be nice to have a short audio of his relation to other crew and maybe primary charter guest if allowed. I wish your crew cabin had a larger port hole. The most likely fire starts in the galley. The captain of Bonaire ordered all ports to be large enough to escape thru. After witnessing a yacht go down with all the crew trapped in the forward section (night time galley fire) in Baha, Mexico. keep a small chain saw in your cabin for emergency exit!

Hey Jared, really enjoying your videos. I have a request if possible. Can you do a video around the garage/tender area? I've always been obsessed with how these large yachts have mini garages and it is one of my favorite parts when checking them out. Unfortunately, I appear to be in the minority because most pictures/videos barely feature them. Barring any privacy concerns, could you possibly focus on this part, as well as the tender launch and recovery?

    • @jaredwatney
      @jaredwatney  6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

Hi Eric. Thank you so much for the compliment. With the video series coming up, I have quite a lot of footage with the garage being shown. I wont lie, we dont have a lot of toys in board. The owner is an older guy so toys arnt a priority. That being said, I will make sure I talk a bit on the garage.

    Hi Jared,
Although you do not have the biggest (cabin). I've actually been on new builds out of 2017 and 2018 about this size (30-40m) which have far - not kidding - far smaller crew areas.
From my experience the cabins actually don't always increase in size when the yacht increases in size, it really depends on the owner/designer of the yacht.
Keep up the vlogs, love it! If you are ever (dry)docked in the Netherlands, give me a shout if you need anything!

Universally _white_ -- brave or a challenge...
_I just had a positively brilliant idea:_ Affix an ultra wide angle lens to your camera (if it can accept replaceable lenses). This will make any space seem palatial. You on your 500 meter yacht....

Jesus, as a cadet I had a cabin 5x4 meters on a container ship. Ain't nothing super about these yachts as far as I'm concerned.

Kind of surprised to not see any hurricane straps on the racks. Granted I doubt you all purposely sail through storms regularly, but still having that strap on my coffin rack while I was in the Navy(U.S.) was definitely reassuring during heavy seas. Great videos mate!

Hey Jason. I mean this in the most respectful way ( to the boat builders ) If this thing had to hit weather that would require straps, i assure you this thing would go down man haha! Its a fair weather boat made only for the Med in my opinion

But I have one question: when the guests are not on the boat, isn't it possible for the crew to sleep in the guest accomodations? When you change the sheets afterwards they won't notice the difference right? For you it's possible to then sleep with your girlfriend. I am not saying you should secretly do this but just ask!

its really small! I had been in a boat, with horrible owners and horrible crew haha, and the only good thing, was the crew area with quite big cabins, beds were big and enough space to keep your things. Locker was big with 3 drawers and more space on the top, as well as a small desk. Then the batroom was separated in 2, the bathroom has a huge locker and then, the shower even had a seat to shower comfortable. The officers cabin were even bigger and crew area was below, with all 6 cabins together. Crew laundry was there and totally separated from guests laundry. Then crew mess was big as well. So far, was the best crew accomodations I knew. that was the only good thing...

Good day Jared, you have a suite compared to what I had in the 80's onboard a Coast Guard Cutter 😂😂😂😂 I was berthed with about 12 guys and slept on a middle bunk (three bunks). Be safe, best regards from San Juan, Puerto Rico.

I'm impressed by the freedom you have in filming on the boat. Is it something you specifically have to get permission from the owner to do, or is there some implied freedom because it's your "living area"?

You said 100 days. Is that the longest you stay on the boat before you get a break or vacation? What is the normal time a crew in on the boat before they break or crew change ( if that is what they do) if you made a video about this already then let me know or send me a link when you get a chance. Thanks and I will keep watching.

A very interesting video I always wanted to know how/where the crew lived on one of these yachts...although the setup is a bit claustrophobic for my taste. You seem like a super cool guy, I really enjoyed this video and rewarded with a sub. BTW is the accent Aussie or South African...? All the best Jared.
