Prince Solomon, with his closest man, Ibrahim Pargam Ibrahim receives the bad news in a hunt. His father Yavuz Sultan Selim Khan passed away. Prince Suleyman sets out for Istanbul without waiting. Prince Süleyman quickly reaches the capital. He attends the culus ceremony without waiting. His life changed in one day. He started his life as Sultan Süleyman.
Meanwhile, a galley loaded with slaves coming over the Black Sea is heading towards Istanbul. The hottest of the slaves is not yet aware that he is on a journey that will change his destiny. He is rebelling helplessly to return.
Sultan Süleyman wants to show what kind of sultan he is by the commands he gave on the first day of his sultanate. But not everyone will like these decisions. Sultan Süleyman does not hesitate to challenge all of Europe with the messages he sends.
Alex, despite all his rebellion, is brought to the Topkapi palace. His attitude attracted the attention of Valide Sultan from the first moment. But it won't be long before Alex learns the rules of the palace. He chooses a great target. Alex, Sultan Suleyman's first night on the way to attract his attention. Sultan Süleyman olarak padişahlık hayatına başlamıştır.
Bu sırada, Karadeniz üzerinden içi köle yüklü bir kadırga, İstanbul’a doğru gelmektedir. Kölelerden en ateşli olanı ise, kaderini değiştirecek olan yolculuğa çıktığının henüz farkında değildir. Geri dönmek için çaresiz bir şekilde isyan etmektedir.
Sultan Süleyman, padişahlığının ilk gününde verdiği buyruklarla nasıl bir padişah olduğunu göstermek ister. Ama bu kararlar herkesin hoşuna gitmeyecektir. Sultan Süleyman ise gönderdiği mesajlarla, tüm Avrupa’ya meydan okumaktan çekinmez.
Alex, tüm isyankarlığına rağmen, Topkapı sarayına getirilir. Onun bu tavrı ilk andan itibaren Valide Sultan’ın dikkatini çeker. Ama Alex’in sarayın kurallarını öğrenmesi uzun sürmez. Kendisine büyük bir hedef seçer. Alex, Sultan Süleyman’ın karşısına çıktığı ilk gecede onun ilgisini çekmeyi başarır. Sultan Süleyman’ın eşi Mahidevran ise Manisa sarayından yeni gelmiş. Eşi ile görüşmeyi sabırsızlıkla beklemektedir.

He was jealous of his own son, even when Mustapha was 5 years old! He didn't accept that, there was someone more skilful and powerful than him! Mustapha was, Suleyman deeply knew it, but he didn't want to accept it! He saw his own son as an enemy! So pity!!

It really bothers me seeing how many people are saying Süleyman was so terrible for being jealous of his son. The way I see it is obvious, he wasn't jealous, he was scared of Mustafa and he had every reason to be. Before making comments like that, you should look into Süleyman's earlier life and you would know that he saw his father dethrone and kill his grandfather. He witnessed first hand what a motivated prince with wide support among the military, like his father, could do to an elderly sultan that chose to close his eyes, like his grandfather. And he was right to be scared of Mustafa, because he was so popular with the janissaries that if he had woken up one morning and decided to march to the capital and overthrow his father, he would've been able to do it easily. We can't judge this with modern eyes. Süleyman needed to protect his life and his reign or he would've ended up like his grandfather.
That's a well judged comment. I've seen many people criticising something that happened 100s of years ago from a modern perspective. It is totally wrong to kill your own children but when you put yourself in his place, then you'll realise that you'd have done the same to avoid being humiliated by your own son and knowing what he'll do to your family once he ascends to throne. Also some people make this argument that mustafa's kindness and good conscience would not make him take that extreme decision but if you see death on your right side and evil on the left, then evil will definitely overshadow conscience

You know there were many valide sultan before Suleiman reign they didn't run empire like women after Suleiman still there sons ruled the empire much better than the ones who were ruled by women ... Might be mahidevran wasn't.. but Mustafa just like his ancestors wasn't influence by anyone.. especially women around him .. Mehmet 2 made some rules for women and Suleiman broke them probably he predicted the future... If you read ottoman downfall then it's started since end years of suleiman, you can say empire lasted for centuries after that but it lost it's shape ... Before that men ruled and conquerored the world, after that women , haseki , valide ruled over sultans, they were influenced by vizier Murad 4 tried hard to be the real sultan but sadly!!!!! After that they started losing everything slowly., But the system started ruining since that time
