Thank you for your video! I will be applying this Spring 2024. I am in the same position, I have a bachelors in health sciences and a dual masters in public administration & non-profit management. I am not using any of my degrees in my current line of work
Aww that's so nice of you to say that 😘! You know that old saying that we're harder on ourselves...it's easy to pick out every little imperfection. Thanks for encouraging me! 👊💯
i’m most afraid about money for the program! i start the ASN traditional program in the fall this year! my orientation is on july 7th really soon, thank you for these videos!!
Hi Sarah! Congratulations on your acceptance into the program. You are well on your way to achieving your dreams. There are many workplaces that will pay entirely for your schooling such as Orlando Health, Advent Health, Chipotle, UPS, Amazon, etc. You may want to look into that option. If you do not want to work while in school then you also may be qualified to receive grants through submitting your FAFSA to the financial aid department at school and filling out for the Foundation scholarship. I will be at the boot camp helping welcome students that will take place on 8/20. I hope to see you there! You're welcome and best of luck to you! :)
Hi 👋 I just applied to Valencia College nursing program for the Spring 2023 semester 🤞🏽🎉 I was wondering how long did it take for you to receive your acceptance letter? And what was the time frame to get all of the compliance information submitted i.e. drug screening, finger prints, vaccinations etc. My biggest fear is paying for nursing school. Thank you for posting these videos! I am always looking forward to an update from you! 🌻
Hi Zalie! Congratulations on your application! They won't send any acceptance letters until around 2 months before the term you applied for starts. For example, I applied for Fall 2021 and was sent an acceptance letter on June 18th, 2021 (classes started the 3rd or 4th week of August). They'll have a meeting to let you know the timeframe for compliance as it may change due to them continually updating the program although, for me, they gave us around 1-1.5 months to have all of the info complete. If this is your first degree, you may be eligible for financial aid so be sure to send in your FAFSA. Another way to get your school paid for upfront is to work part-time at Orlando Health. Part-time consists of working 2 days a week. It is very difficult to work and go to school though. One good thing about Orlando Health's program is that they'll pay for all books and tuition UP FRONT ( instead of waiting for reimbursement). I struggled my way through working full-time for most of the program but it's really burned me out. Everyone is different though. I'm so glad you are enjoying my videos and I'll be making my next update video soon. I was hoping to wait until they let us know what sites they've assigned us to for practicum which should be approximately mid-October. Thanks for all your kind words!
Hi, I am going to start the nursing program this fall, and I am very nervous. I heard from other students that the program is very disorganize. I am afraid to fail. Please I need help or tips how to study. Thank you.
Hi! First of all, CONGRATULATIONS!! I'm very proud of you for getting accepted into nursing school. Secondly, nursing school is very challenging but try not to be afraid because if we don't take the chance we'll stay stuck where we currently are, right?! Each class is different in the way you might study for it so I really can't give you any one-size-fits-all tips for all the classes. One tip I can give you is to teach back what you've learned to someone, anyone (even your cat). Talking out loud and reciting the information you have learned is likely to help you commit it to memory. I wish you all the best luck :). Remember, stay strong and don't give up!
Hi India! Valencia is one of the easier schools to get into. You are admitted on a first-come, first-served basis. Their website states that minimum TEAS score is currently 65 so you should be good. They do not place someone with a higher school in front of your application it is only based on who applies first. Please take a look at their FAQ page on their website: valenciacollege.edu/academics/programs/health-sciences/nursing/frequently-asked-questions.php . Hope this helped answer your question. So sorry that I missed your comment the other day.
@india I want to edit my last comment by saying that I just saw on the FAQ page that they will NO LONGER admit on a first-come basis and it will now be admitting based on a points scale. Please see these two docs for more info: valenciacollege.edu/academics/programs/health-sciences/documents/program-guide-as-traditional-nursing.pdf valenciacollege.edu/academics/programs/health-sciences/nursing/frequently-asked-questions.php
@MDtoRN Hi, my daughter is to start at Valencia but she is a bit confused on to wether go for her AA or ASN. She eventually would like to continue for her BSN. Any suggestions or which would be best. Also do you know would she be able to go for the concurrent program if she goes for her ASN. Thank you
Congratulations and so sorry for the delayed response!! The evening program runs a little different than the daytime one. I was hoping to get into the evening but got offered daytime so I took it. Screening for what exactly? Do you mean when are your vaccinations due or something else? They will likely go over that in orientation. I think ours are due by the time we start classes on 8/23.
Hi! It took me about a month to hear back. Well, I originally applied for the Summer 2021 term (in December or January I believe). On March 5th, I was put on a waitlist for future terms. I finally got in on June 18th for the Fall 2021 term. If this is your first time applying, there is generally a 1-2 semester wait due to the abundance of students applying and the limited seats.
Hello! I noticed this same reply on all three of my videos so I will just reply to this one :). Valencia is one of the easier schools to get into. It depends on your goals. My thoughts are to focus on your AS degree first and get hired on with a hospital that will pay for you to complete your BS degree so that you don't have to pay for it. You most likely will have to complete a BS degree at some point though so you could also opt to just do it all at once if you have the money. Once I am done with my AS degree I will seek out a Master's degree direct entry program because I already have a Bachelor's degree (and Master's) in another field.
Hi Isabella! You should check the Valencia website for the most up-to-date information but at the time I enrolled (August 2021), they only required the TEAS exam.
What time is the daytime program and the evening program? Looking to start soon!

Good luck to you!! It's hard to go back to school but it can be worth it.
You’re so eloquent and good on camera! I suppose all that VIP kids stuff helped you with this. You’re a natural!
Aww that's so nice of you to say that 😘! You know that old saying that we're harder on ourselves...it's easy to pick out every little imperfection. Thanks for encouraging me! 👊💯
Hey girl hey 👋🏽 love that you’re documenting this journey this time next year we’ll be nurses 💃🏽
I knowww and I can't believe it! I'm so excited to be starting school with you 😊🎉

For the day program, what times of the day did you have classes? also clinicals?
Amiga cuanto saco en el examen para el programa de enfermeria
Thanks for sharing this. Question: did you do your prerequisites at Valencia?
Hi! You're welcome. Yes, I took my prereq classes at Valencia. All of them were virtual classes though.
What was your GPA and TEAS score? Pre-nursing student at Valencia here!
I’m wondering the same thing, I know they require a 3.0 gpa and a minimum score of 65 but I wonder exactly how hard is it to get in?

Hello hi, I’m on the same confusion and wondering the same thing, please reply to this if you see this.
Hi, I got accepted into Valencia college evening program. When it’s the screening and all? My orientation is on Monday, can’t wait to know
Congratulations and so sorry for the delayed response!! The evening program runs a little different than the daytime one. I was hoping to get into the evening but got offered daytime so I took it.
