Oh, you must rewatch this and watch her at the end (you stopped too soon!!). She is so in-character, it takes her several moments to compose herself! Lara is just an absolute master of conveying emotion in songs. Dimash has looked up to her and and covered some of her songs. The piano intro, with its descending arpeggios, foretells the mood of this masterful song.

Lucky you - you’ve just discovered the queen of communicating emotions through music… she always gives it her all… (continue to see that performance and you will see that she’s still ‘in character’ about 20 seconds after her last tone - even though the audience is wild)
You can’t go wrong with any Lara song. Normally the most suggested will be ‘Adagio’, ‘Caruso’ and perhaps ‘Broken wow’ (in addition to her performance of ‘Je t’aime’ in Paris 2001). But if you’ll like to see one of the most passionate duets ever, see her in ‘Requiem pour un Fou’ with Johnny Hallyday from La Stade de France in 1998. A strong story also in ‘Llora’
    Love your reactions. 😊

“Je suis Malade” was written by famous French singer & songwriter Serge Lama together with composer/singer Alice Dona in 1973.
This is based on his own experience and he was the original performer, hence some lyrics are a bit male-oriented (eg my mother leaves me, whiskies, I pour my blood in your body, …).
When Serge Lama had a dinner with Alice Dona and told her about his obsessive love that was leading to a road block, she came back home and compose the music in a couple of hours.
The morning after, she presented him the music and he wrote the lyrics in … 20 minutes.
Serge Lama was the original performer in 1973, but a few months after, Dalida covered it and brought it to fame. She was an absolute mega star in France, another emotional powerhouse, and this song resonated very much with her own feelings. Her success with this song transformed it into a french classic, and started to make it famous abroad.
But it is Lara Fabian that really made this song a very popular song in many countries with her cover in the mid 90s.
At that time Dalida had already passed away, but Serge Lama was (and is) still alive. Dalida and Serge were two inspirations for Lara, so she sent an audio copy to Serge of her version. She was unknown at that time in France but he was so impressed with her vocal skills and her emotions rendering that he invited her in France to sing it as a duet. They became good friends.
Lara has made some subtle changes to the song that gave it even more power and Serge Lama adopted these in his later interpretations.
This 1999 version ("From Lara with Love" Concert in Montreal) is legendary internationally and has attracted many artists to do a cover, even from non french-speaking countries.
The most recent ones I am aware of are from italian singer Giulia Falcone, from the korean singer Choi Sung Hoon or from the korean band Forestella.

@@rosalieelliottofficial yes Serge Lama said that the words were spilling out of his mouth and head on the fly when Alice was playing the piano melody lines. And before hearing this music he tried to write a song but failed completely.
A side note: Michelle, the woman he was sick for was not abusive, not a narcissist type. Serge and Michelle both were deeply in love but they both were engaged, she already had a child and she decided to flee abroad. But 2 years later they broke with their respective partners, get married, had a son and were finally together during 40 years until her death in 2016.

Lara Fabian seems to have been rediscovered and quite rightly so.This is due to her association with the incomparable Dimash Qudaibergen. She has been a big influence on Dimash and it is easy to see why. They both put their heart and soul into performances. A chance to see them both singing, along with Aida Garafullina, can be heard singing Ti Amo Cosi.

when she went to america, there were two possible future stars, but the music company thought that there should only be one, and thus they dropped her in favor of Celine Dion. A random decision that left her maybe a little less famous (in the usa and thus worldwide, yet she concentrated on some other countries and got loyal fans there) although it's really worth it to listen to many others of Lara's songs. And without that decision she might not have done so much with Igor either. But now through youtube, Lara, Dimash, and Igor have millions of fans, hundreds of reactors to them, and many many millions of views worldwide.

So glad you found another "adopted" Canadian gem. She is absolutely stunning in all respects and although you may not realize it, she shares many a circumstance with another classic beauty... Faouzia. Born overseas and now living in Canada, both are classically trained, Lara in piano, voice and songwriting, Faouzia in piano with ancillary training in songwriting. Like you, Lara and Faouzia are polyglots that write and perform in more than one language. Both had success in local and international talent competitions early on. Like Lara, Faouzia prefers classical music to pop and it shows in their compositions and contributes to their rather cinematic stage presence. Both write intensely personal lyrics... often sad or dark and each considers themselves a songwriter first. While Faouzia was raised in Canada, Lara came to Canada seeking a pop career in North America when she was about the same age as Faouzia is now. Like Lara, Faouzia has cultivated a large non-North American fanbase. Faouzia has leveraged social media to cultivate her audience, while Lara has done it the old fashioned way, by touring and recording. If that wasn't enough, they both seem like truly warm human beings with an empathy for others and an honest love of their fans.
There have been so many excellent Lara performances recommended to you already. Any one of them is worthy of your reaction.

Classically trained and an exquisitely nuanced vocalist and performer, Lara is way up there within a very small handful of the best female vocalists. Many professional singers regard her performances as Master Classes. She has worked with many of the greats, including the revered Russian composer; Igor Krutoy, and is a skilled songwriter herself. Enjoy your exploration of her work. 👍

even without subtitles it probably wouldn't be a big problem since many?most? people have listened to the songs already hundreds of times, and still enjoy reactors listening to songs or even singers for the very first time and be surprised by them :-) that's the next best thing to listening to them for the first time ourselves, because of course that was only possible once :-(
and besides 2 or 3 songs (eg "daybreak" and "autumn strong"/"ikanaide" by dimash) where you should know the background story before reacting, you shouldn't care too much to be "prepared" what to expect. the more genuine, surprised or even shocked (and enjoyable for us) will be the reaction. people then also will comment with details, and comments in turn also benefit the algorithm. i also think that nobody will be angry if you pause a video for some longer reaction (and that may also benefit the fight against copyright problems) as long as you skip back a few seconds to not miss some runs or other details at that point.

    More information on Lara Fabian:
Lara is recognized as one of the best vocalist ever seen on earth and all professionals list her in the top vocalist tier with Barbra, Whitney, Mariah, Celine, Lisa Fischer, ....
In my personal opinion, she is even the best.
There are a few vocal characteristics that are her signature: her famous resonance for instance that allows her to sing acapella without mic in venues with 8,000 attendees. Her nickname in the singing world is "the ring" due to this. I would also list her amazing phrasing, breath management and her pleasant tone even when belting in her upper register.
So she is one of the best vocalist ever, but on top of that, she adds a few things that make her an absolute package with no equivalence:
    • she speaks 4 languages fluently (french, italian, english, spanish), can speak a bit of sicilian, russian and dutch, and has sung in 12 languages in total
    • she is an amazing songwriter and wrote lyrics for most her songs, in the 4 languages she speaks fluently. She often co-composes the music with the composer.
    • she acts and performs on stage as nobody else, she colors and reveals the meaning of every single word in the songs, and her ability to emote, to draw you in is second to none
    • she is the sweetest soul on earth, very humble, down to earth and benevolent. She likes to meet others, and her fans are always pleasantly surprised when this happens.
A quick background on her and her career:
She is belgian, her father is flemish, but also has italian roots (her mother is from sicilia) and Americanroots ( her grandfather is from Detroit). She was raised in sicilia first then in Belgium so she speaks both french and italian as native languages.
She has been classically trained on vocal, piano and songs composition for 10 years ( from 8 to 18) in the Brussels Royal Conservatory.
She is still having vocal lessons and training several times a week today.
She started her career in Canada in the early 90s, more precisely in Quebec, the french-speaking part of Canada.
She now lives in Montreal and has also Canadian citizenship
She became very famous there and then conquered France in 1996/1997 (she topped charts there and some of her songs such as "Je t'aime" or "Tout" became classics of the french music).
In 2000, she was about to penetrate the US Market, with a lot of media initial interest. Her first english song (I will love again), a pop dance song, stayed number one on the US Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart for 58 weeks in a row and number 32 on the Billboard Hot 100.
Her Album ("Lara Fabian") was about to become a massive hit, and the concert "From Lara With Love" was recorded to be broadcasted everywhere in the US.
This concert is legendary and the song you just reviewed is from this concert.
But a dispute with Sony on artistry directions, and the will from Celine Dion's staff to block her progress in the US, completely broke this plan.
She thus refocused back on Europe and made huge success there, extending her reach to Eastern Europe and Central Asia where she became an absolute superstar thru her collaboration with Igor Krutoy during several years.
She is also a star in Brazil as her song "Love By Grace", used as the soundtrack for a very famous soap opera, topped the charts for months.
Many of her songs became classics and were covered by the other singing legends: Barbra Streisand, Shirley Bassey, Josh Groban, …
With her success in Europe, Brazil and part of Asia, she is the inspiration of the new generation of vocalists: most of them are coming from there.
Thru their covers of Lara Fabian songs, USA and many other countries are now rediscovering her.
She is Dimash's idol: I’ve read somewhere that, when he was a child, he was listening her songs every night to get asleep.
He covered many of her songs (that she performed originally ; she also wrote some of these).
Out of my mind I can list:
    ○ Adagio,
    ○ Mademoiselle Hyde,
    ○ Know/Vocalise/Ascolta La voce
    ○ Love of tired swans
She also wrote the lyrics of his song « Your Love ».
And she covered « Love is like a dream » before him (song from Igor Krutoy originally performed by Alla Pugacheva).
They also performed Ti Amo Cosi together with Aida Garafulina: this is a song that she performed originally with Dmitriy Hvorostovsky and Alina Yaroyava then again later with Dmitriy and Sumi Jo, before this new trio with Dimash and Aida.
Dimash is now also working with Igor Krutoy who came back from retirement and composed severals songs for him.
Many other top vocalists from the current generation covered her songs:
    ○ Floor Jansen (Adagio),
    ○ Polina Gagarina (Adagio, Je t’aime),
    ○ Diana Ankudinova (Tomorrow is a lie, Know),
    ○ Morissette Amon (Broken Vow),
    ○ Gabriel Henrique (Love by Grace),
    ○ Cakra Khan (Broken Vow),
    ○ Katrina Velarde (Broken Vow),
    ○ Regine Velasquez (Broken Vow),
    ○ Giulia Falcone (Adagio, Caruso, Je suis malade, Je t'aime),
    ○ Daria Bentsa (I guess I loved you),
    ○ Julie Anne san Jose (Broken Vow),
    ○ Rimar ( Adagio, Broken Vow),
    ○ Sarah Geronimo (Broken Vow)
    ○ Laura Bretan ( Adagio, Caruso),
    ○ Jackie Evancho (Je t’aime, Caruso and Broken Vow, BV rewritten as « Imaginer » by Lara for Jackie),
    ○ Almira (from 4th Impact band) (Broken Vow),
    ○ Amir (Je t’aime),
    ○ Choi Sung Hoon (Je suis malade),
    ○ Forestella (Je suis Malade),
    ○ Petra Berger (Adagio, Broken Vow),
    ○ Katerina Maslova (Je t’aime, I guess I loved you)
    ○ ....
Today, she still has an amazing voice and tone and can still reach the 5th octave with resonance ; she still offers these emotive renditions that are her unique signature.
In June 2022, she kicked off a WW tour and stunned her fans once again with 5 magical concerts in Canada.
Sorry if I was long, but I hope this gives some context on Lara.

One small inaccuracy Eric, At the age of sixteen she won a singing competition
in Brussels and was able to record her first single....th-cam.com/video/a4_gm8yocNo/w-d-xo.html.......Lara's career really started after participating in the EUROVISION song festival where she represented Luxembourg in 1988.. ....However, that same year Celine Dion also took part in the Eurovision song contest as a representative of Switzerland .... Celine won the festival, Lara came fourth!! ...That was the real start, but then she met in 2019 the singer/pianist/composer Rick Allison in a piano bar in Brussels. They became ""lovers"" and they left for Canada together because there were more ""opportunities"" there for singers like her..

Now regarding the Eurovision, there were a lot of political games between countries and jurors at that time and no public votes. Lara was representing Luxembourg, a country with no power in this game. Compare the two songs: on my side, I know which one I prefer.

@@ericsicard910 ""shortcuts"" ?? haha, the rest of your explanation was not so short.🙂...Lara's song was a ballad .... Celine's song was much more a sing-along and more rhythmic and that's why Celine won, nothing political ...Luxemburg won the festival a few times before the hole east Europe also joint the competition ....... Celine has had better song writers and a manager (later her husband) who had much more influence in the music world specially in the US........ But the song festival of 1988 gave Lara the first fame outside Belgium ...

For curious Americans who know where Europe is, Lara Fabian was born in Belgium (Wallonia region).
    Belgium has 3 official languages.
    58% are Flemish (speak Dutch)
    32% are Walloons (speak French)
10% are German speakers (speak German)
So she speaks French, but she is Belgian.
Just like Celine Dion or Mylène Farmer who were born in Quebec and sing in French,
they are successful but are not French.

Hi from France ! Lara Fabian is truly a good choice.
For me , the best live duet of the GALAXY is "Requiem pour un fou " by Johnny Hallyday and Lara Fabian. The video has been shooted under the rain. It is a dramatic song. Originaly , Johnny song alone "Requiem pour un fou ". He has killed his girlfrieng. It is the night. The lights of the Police are outside the house. He won't surrender. So , the night will be bloody.
Johnny Hallyday was our French Elvis Presley. He lived 20years , in Los Angeles , with his wife , Laetitia and his adopted daughters , Jade and Joy. Lara Fafian is AMAZING in "Requiem pour un fou ". She sings STRONGLY these words " AMOUR " ( LOVE ) and "TOUJOURS " ( ALWAYS ). Amoouurr ! Toujoouurs !
Your follower Eric Sicard who is everywhere on Internet , when Lara Fabian sings , will give you the good video link with the translation. Take a little look of the translation , before playing the video. Thank you !
Have a great day , Rosalie.

Rosalie, thank you for your reaction and proper pronunciations. Lara is underappreciated, particularly in the U.S. - but hardly unknown as there are a billion hits on youtube. - LARA with links: Lara Fabian is a Canadian of Belgium birth and Italian/Franco/Flemish cultural heritage. Lara spent a decade in a Brussels Conservatory studying piano, composition, and voice. Lara is a full lyric soprano with a vocal range that spans three octaves (A5, B4, BB4, C3, C5, C#5, D5, E5, EB5, F5, F#5, G5) in live performances. She is multilingual; in fact, she speaks Italian, French, Spanish, and English and has sung in 12. Lara, who describes herself as a songwriter/singer creates a high level of emotional connection with the listener. She has a discography of over 400 songs, has sold over 30 million records, and plays to sold-out venues worldwide. She lives in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, with her husband and daughter. A “50 at 50” - fifty live performances celebrating her 50th birthday had to be cancelled due to COVID-19 but has been rescheduled as “The Best of Lara”.
The reason why I’m a ‘fan’ is her high level ‘EQ’ emotional intelligence expressed in the text of her songs. La raison pour laquelle je suis un « fan » de Lara Fabian est son « QE » élevé, qu’elle exprime dans le texte de ses chansons.

Rosalie I am so happy that you have discovered the great Lara Fabian. I know you are going to be so happy to hear some of the incredible voices that are out there right now. First try Morissette Amon. From the 107.5 WISH bus try "Never Enough" and "Akin Ka Na Lang". Next up, Angelina Jordan. First catch her at 9 yrs. old doing "I Put A Spell On You". Then watch when her world changed with her audition on America's Got Talent where she does "Bohemian Rhapsody". Next try her "I'd Rather Go Blind where she is 13 and just sitting on a sofa singing a song. They are two once in a generation talents that the whole world deserves to hear. If you want to go down the rabbit holes they both have extensive catalogues on TH-cam. Since reaction channels are suppose to be fun you should then listen to KZ Tandingan. Either or both versions from the WISH Bus or from the The Singer 2018 competition will do. Much success on the channel and happy hunting. BE WELL

You are great coz you can discover great artists within several days! Whoever discovered Diana, will soon discover Dimash & Lara too (or the other round). Coz they are among the best singers nowadays. Lara is the best story teller singer🤗

Lara is fantastic! A must listen is “Requiem pour un fou” from Lara with Johnny Halliday. It is out of this world! Thank you for reacting to her! I know you just reacted to a Dimash; Lara is one of his idols, he got to sing with her in “Ti Amo Cosi”, and she wrote the words for Dimash’s song “Your love”. Here are a few more artists you may want to react to, also amazing! Forestella, Diana Ankudinova, Angelina Jordan, Morissette Amon, for a start!

Yeah Lara Fabian is a beast when it comes to singing and sensations. I adore her. It has a completely different taste when you speak French you feel the sensations 10 fold. Basically all her other songs are worth listening to.
If you'd like a combination of French and Arabic there's an outstanding performance from the voice France by Lebanese singer Hiba Tawaji. She has done Les Moulins de Mon Cœur in Arabic and mind blown the jury.

You stopped the video TOOOOO soon. It took Lara at least 25 seconds after the song ended and the audience started clapping before she came out of character that she was in for the song!! 👱‍♀👱‍♀👗👗👠👠💓💓

@@vasilisalphaalpha1399 I was referring to the end, after Lara was finished singing and she turned the video off (another way of saying stopping)!!! That is what I was talking about. If you don't understand what I was referring to about Lara, try watching the original video of Lara singing the song. After she finishes singing she stays in character until well after the audience starts clapping! By the way, what exactly are you getting at about us WOMEN? You can't just type Women and expect us to know what you are meaning by it! Be specific about what you mean!

@@shanialover I meant nothing else than the common sense that women often talk more than what is necessary. And it was rather a word of sympathy, not an irony. Don't get upset my dear, I like your dream for totally and absolutely respected women, the opposite would be a tragedy and I mean women who accept to become slaves of men. As for lovely Lara I couldn't agree more that the music reactors have to pay attention to everything including the artist's body language after the singing is over, the time they need to recover from the character they performed tells the most importand things about an artist. I get mad at the reactors who interrupt the performance too often to give their own performance or stop the video before the artist recovers. I have made many comments to music reactors about this mistake, many more than you did, don't worry sweetheart. And let us accept that Rosalie's humble and short answer to your comment was a perfection. Take care

    • @shanialover
      @shanialover 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@@vasilisalphaalpha1399 I respect your reply, BUT I have to confess that I do ALSO fall into the other category that you mentioned of accepting slavery to men AND boys! To be clear, as far as boys go, I simply mean doing and serving them what they ask for in the way of preparing and serving them food and other things they ask me to get them. As for ALL men, I have taken care of my father and 4 brothers since I was 9, after my mother passed leaving me as the only female of the family and the fact put in my mind by my mother and grandmother starting when I could understand, that we are responsible for taking care of the males and the house. I never allowed my father or my brothers or any male friends of dad or of my brothers or of me, to do any cooking or cleaning and still don't when they are around me! So I take responsibility for spoiling them so much that they often come to my house to relax while I feed and serve them as well as my nephews. And just to be clear, I am VERY submissive in every good and bad way! And now I will follow your suggestion of stopping saying more than needed. I hope I haven't bored you! 😉😉👱‍♀👱‍♀👗👗👠👠❤❤

Lara sings amazing songs in many languages (12) and she writes songs in french, italian, english and spanish.
Some of her songs wer covered by Barbra Streisand or Josh Groban and most of the new generation of vocalists. She is the idol of Dimash and the inspiration of the like of Diana Ankudinova.
You should really check her other amazing masterpieces.
If you want to check other french speaking artists, I suggest Pomme or Stromae
