Christopher Miles Matt's screams are still better than Corey's, sure, but Corey's gotten better than he was a while back. I think I read somewhere that the guitar tone comes from some software nowadays.
yeah I'm aware Matt blew his voice out from screaming but I'm just saying from a vocals standpoint Matt was at the top of screaming and even Corey's filler screams annoy me so hearing him scream the entire verses is like nails on a chalkboard for me
Matt's on lead screams again, with Corey co-screaming. Sounds even better with both of them going at it. Corey's improved a lot as a vocalist, and meshes up nicely with Math
its autumn 2023 and this is still one of my favourite live performances of this song. criminally underrated in views, but im so glad its on here. thank you.
Bass player way too good... If you are a bass player you can't deny it... Very underrated... His technique and mechanics are just amazing. respect... Corey's technique..I wont even talk about that..and matt...this guy its the definition of Discipline...so talented band.
i like how corey took charge of the main vocals now. but shogun should stll have matt up front doing all. i know he physically cant. but it isnt as massive without him
Todd Mudrick lol this is an old comment I know but it goes to show, if you’re in a band, regardless of your role in the band, practice vocals. Super helpful.
Why is everyone freaking out on every live video about Matt using an Epiphone? Epiphones sound just as good as Gibsons in my experience. In fact, the best sounding guitar I have is my standard Epiphone Les Paul. The only real difference I find between Epiphone and Gibson, apart from the ridiculous price difference, is the relative weight of an Epiphone to a Gibson. Gibsons are much heavier.
He said in an interview that he wanted to tour with his signature Epiphone to make sure they held up because he wanted his fans to have a great sounding guitar, with a good price and quality. Never owned an Epiphone but I’m getting one of his white ones. Hella beautiful guitar
corey guitar's sound doesn't get balance with matt......matt (left), corey (right)....I can't hear so much when corey play solo at 3:04....but their performance overall amazing!!!
With how much you hear Corey and Paolo in live performances I would hope that future albums really have them appear on tracks rather than album versions of songs being Matt on all vocal duties as it usually seems. Give Corey some scream bulk songs and Paolo on cleans and shit, man.
I love that matt can sing now. Thats great. but id still love to hear his screams too. coreys pretty much on all scream duties. :/ that bums me out a bit. But if it works for them cool .
+fullswingin It's sadly because Matt is barely screaming, if at all. He damaged his vocal cords last year, and I really don't think he will scream live properly anymore.
Brian Taylor Sigh... Here's to hoping he can recover it though; I remember Corey once stating that he doesn't like screaming live because Matt's scream is the sound of Trivium, and he's not exactly wrong
This is going to sound like I'm knocking Epiphone and I'm not, honestly I love Epiphone. I'm just always surprised when I see someone who can afford Gibson going with the Epiphone.
What happen to matt's amazing voice? "Devoutly wished for blinded eyes" part sounds like he is not even trying and it seems like he is singing from his nose...miss his great voice from previous albums.
I know your comment is old, but he sounds fine here. Sounds much better now, especially since his voice recovered and he broadened his vocal range and lung capacity.
Doing this kind of screaming and singing is so tricky and can really mess upp your voice, so I totally undertand Matt leaves the growl to Corey. Its the same with In flames. Anders CAN still do the death metal growl but since they have so much clean vocals, he is holding back alot.

Matt's melodic voice is what made Trivium different. Then many bands came out using the screams-melodic voice formula, but most of them sucked. So, yeah, Corey is better screaming at this point (also better guitarist, but he always been LEAD guitar, right?) but you can't never replace Matt.

I love Trivium but what ruined seeing them at BOA was when my fucking ex was pissed off that I went to see them headline the Main stage just because she didn't like them 😒
+Jay Norris He's recovered. Apparently that's just how he sings it now. Saw them last night and he sang it the same way he does here, and sang other songs with a lot of strength. Guess it's his way to trying to make it more melodic

Aaron Ryan I saw them Jan 8th and I can confirm that you're very mistaken. Matt's singing on this song was just him trying to be melodic. He was singing and screaming his heart out live, and the entire band put on an excellent show
Matt has grown a great voice for singing, but its not for trivium. This song about 2006 was sung by matt all the time, and corey making the chorus part only, and thats the way it should be, not like this. Reading all the comments about epiphone and matts vest, its the living proof that something its wrong about their music, something is missing, i think they lack of spirit and screamos.

My favorite Trivium song
this song is really really good
I miss Matt doing screams :'(
Happy to tell you that as of last night he's doing a lot of screaming again! He's co-screaming with Corey, but he's still doing a lot of screaming
Sean Murray and as of now he's screaming more by himself now. I'm certain he's gonna screaming on the next album.
Attai Brown U were right. He screams on The Sin And The Sentence
But he sounds terrible now... leave it to corey

Vin Diesel play bass? What a surprise.
He looked like Chris Cornell a few years ago.

Blazzer dominic purcell, maybe
His name is Pablo!
He will look like johnny sins soon
fucking love matt's vest. black metal for life
ironaodhan trivium is heavy/death metal not black metal .
Rahul singh95 Boi. Since when was trivium even in the same sentence as death metal? And some stuff on Shogun does have black metal influence.
ironaodhan funny thing on the internet, when someone comment about the black metal vest
and the others debate about trivium genre, LOL
thrash metal ehy
He was talking about the vest with the black metal patches on it...
Perhaps the best live version of this song,
