I have used my buddipole for years and the new tripod is awesome. Much easier to set up and I really like the marked radial wire. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks Thuff! It was really nice to have the marked radial, not sure I would have thought of that on my own lol. Makes it easier to find that tune. Thanks for commenting , 73!
Glad I could help! I'm still new to the QRP and portable world. I have the KM4ACK EFHW and the Buddistick pro for my portable operations. Will be taking them out tomorrow to a local place. Thanks for stopping by and commenting, 73!
Everyone is getting this antenna and it seems to be doing pretty good for everyone. Definitely on my list of antennas to look into. BTW, thanks for the P2P on Labor Day. You were my first contact of the day. Didn’t even recognize the call until I got home & started inputting my paper log. Will have the video up today or tomorrow. 73!
Thanks! It’s a fun antenna to have and very capable. I plan to try it out with the 7300 at 100w eventually, I’ve only used the 705 at 10w on it so far.
Looks like a nice portable antenna option for POTA. The bag and organization is great. I like how it covers 6m too, which is a nice option to have and something that my Wolf River Coils TIA doesn't include (unless I just adjust the whip to tune it to 6m, which doesn't seem ideal).
Yes Mike it's a very well put together portable antenna system, and I also like that it has 6m listed on it. I really enjoy 6m when it's open, and if I'm out at a park one day when it does it's great that I have a antenna ready to go for it. Thanks for coming by!
Nice! I felt like I could have gone into some more detail after watching it, but I made the video more to show the experience of seeing, setting up, and using this antenna for the first time. I made mistakes putting it together and using it, and pointed those out. There are some other great videos on this antenna out there. Thanks for watching👍
Hey Joe, nice set-up but I must ask, where did you get the stand for the Ic-705. Must have..... we have the brackets but I need the stand to complete the radio. Its never over 😁
Thanks Rosa! The Mount is pretty handy and has rubber feet on the bottom. I got it off Amazon - Neewer Z Flex Tilt Ball Head with Quick Shoe QR Plate Bracket for Camera www.amazon.com/dp/B0787YXQNP/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_5Q12AKHPHJB0XSXR4G0P?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
@@K5YVY thanks for the reply, got my tech ticket last September so still new. Not much happening here but we live in East Tennessee part of the year and it's very active there. Just found your channel today and really enjoyed it. Thanks again KI5PFL.
Hey Brad, yes this is my first and only portable vertical. I just got into portable operating and so far I have this and a EFHW. I’ve heard some good comparisons on this and the WRC, seems they both have their own respectable strengths.
I was still able to adjust the radials for a good swr match for 20m, didn’t seem to effect it too badly. Discovered my mistake before trying other bands so might have had more of an affect on lower bands.
that wire coiled under the antenna and you so close to the antenna that creates a lot of magnetic field that interferes with radio waves and creates false swr that can damage your radio!!!!!!!
Thanks for showing the actual setup instead of skipping over that part. Really helps for us new folks.
Thanks, I feel like I could have done a little better, I need to recruit me a camera man to get close up shots lol.

I like that term "viewer convenience". I'm calling your time.....We are going to need a 6 min video of you packing up that antenna.
I’ll do it just for F U N
Nice review Joe. Well done. I look forward to trying my own. Nice QRZ page too. 73 and thanks for your service, George K2WO.

@@K5YVY you welcome
I ordered one for me just the other day. Looking forward to seeing how it works. Nice video.
Awesome, I think you will like it 👍
Nice video. I’ve had a BuddyStick for a long time, Thanks to your video I just purchased the Hub and legs. Very portable QRP Rocks

Sweet setup Joe. Pairs up with that 705 very nicely.
Thanks Dennis, it does pair up real nice with that 705. 🎉

Also works on 2m 👍🏽
first contact to Hawaii??? HAHA.. great job and dang good video friend...
Hahaha yeah how about that.
Very cool Joe! I like that antenna. Lot easier to tote than the Alpha FMJ - which is my portable.
Thanks Jim! I knew this was a portable antenna, and I see one assembled at Huntsville, but I was still surprised how compact it is in its tote bag.
Nice job with the antenna BroJett 👍
Thanks 👍 ApeBro!
Nice job Joe. Looking forward to future videos with it. I am with Kyle, we need proof of the 6 minute takedown. Your viewers need to see you sweat...
Thanks Keith! I might just work on that video tomorrow! lol
I appreciate the info. I just ordered one. 😎

Hello Yudel!!! 73 thanks for coming by!
Nice!
Thanks Sean dude!
Is this the only portable vertical you own? I’m considering buying one to compete with my WRC.
Hey Brad, yes this is my first and only portable vertical. I just got into portable operating and so far I have this and a EFHW. I’ve heard some good comparisons on this and the WRC, seems they both have their own respectable strengths.
I was the first contact? What do I win?
You were disqualified you lying Hawaiian , but greatly appreciate that contact though! 😁
How were the swr with the coil in that position?
I was still able to adjust the radials for a good swr match for 20m, didn’t seem to effect it too badly. Discovered my mistake before trying other bands so might have had more of an affect on lower bands.
Well how much are they?
www.buddipole.com/budepa.html the deluxe package with everything is $275

Thanks for the comment Philip, was just a short time of operating at 5 watts, me and the radio are still fine 👍. Will remember this for future. 73
