I've been going to Leadville since 2011 (racing and crewing). 2023 was the mildest of all those years. It was a great year to race and the times prove it. Since 2011 it has never fully rained in all those years. A few years riders coming in after 10 hours have been hit by afternoon showers. There is a big change this year in the crewing structure. The race series is mandating that most crews will have to shuttle to the main feedzone, twin lakes dam. Driving is still allowed to Lost Canyon, Pipeline and the new feed zone Outward Bound. There is also a neutral aid station near the top of the first climb called Carter Aid but no driving is allowed. They have also added a new, short section of Singletrack near Outward Bound. Have a great ra e. The Leadville 100 is a bit like getting a tattoo; it hurts while it's happening, but you'll have a story for life.
This is amazing insight. Good luck on Leadville 100, you will do awesome. You have a solid base to build from.
I think I’ve watched every video on Leadville on TH-cam… Lol 100%. This was the most insightful great job!

See ya at leadville. My first time too
Informative, but I would have liked to heard more about the lead-up training.
Check out fatty and hottie’s Leadville 100 podcast. All you need to know!
The fist and most important factor is how much can you ride.....success requires a massive base.........not for the weekend warrior.
No tire talk? :)
These guys sure have trouble remembering their past races and the details - sheesh
