    the algae carpet is amazing, i don't see enough people really utilizing algae not only for it's filtration but also for it's beauty when done right. I'm hook on this ever evolving story of Lucky haha.

    wow I didn't know about stunted growth until now. Thanks for letting me know; I was planning on making a tub for goldfish but now I'm wondering if I can handle them well at all-- LOL. The fancy goldfish in my 20 gal seems like they have stunted growth because I never placed a heater and the filter and maintenance was less than mediocre for a year. I recently upgraded the filter with a stronger pump and started changing water once a week.🧐

    • @vladimirstojanovic3603
      @vladimirstojanovic3603  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Thanks for watching. Heater is not required. Goldfish will live happily when the water temperature is 23 C. We use the heater when we want the young goldfish to grow fast,we can achieve this with warmer water (25-26 C), quality nutrition and most importantly clean water. When the water is warm the fish's metabolism is high then the fish eats more, grows faster and pollutes the water more. Larger understocked aquarium is easier to maintain, goldfish are big fish if there are many of them in a smaller aquarium water quality must be maintained with good filtration and regular water changes.

      Yes, it's an algae carpet. Algae are very beneficial for goldfish, they like to graze on it. They have a source of natural food 24/7. Algae absorb nutrients from the water so this is another form of filtration as well. Thanks for watching!

    • @vladimirstojanovic3603
      @vladimirstojanovic3603  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I feed them about 7 times a day in small meals. I showed in the video what I feed them, with a variety of frozen and dry food. I think you will need a bigger aquarium very soon :) 20 liters is not enough for adult goldfish. As for feeding if the fish eat a lot, you should pay attention to the water temperature and the water must always be clean. No matter how much you feed the fish if the water is not clean the fish will not grow. Learn a little about goldfish grooming,do your research and those fish will be happy :)

      If the fish are young you can feed them 5-7 times, but you have to do 50% water change every day. The tank must be at the appropriate size. The water temperature should be around 25C. Feed them quality dry and frozen foods and vegetables. If the fish are skinny they may have some parasites.
