This is a great explanation of why a V-Rack is handy when using chunks and virtual instruments: so you don't have to reload samples each time you move from one sequence to another.
In this video, the only audio playing back is from MachFive 3, so yes a Master Fader is redundant. However, if there were other virtual instruments and audio tracks in the sequences, the Master Fader in the V-Rack would control the entire playback output. Master Faders are also a good way to have a common set of effects - EQ, Limiter, etc for the output mix
A question-what purpose does creating the master fader serve in this video? It's set to the same output pair as the MachFive 3 Instrument track itself (with the exception of the piano track, which you've assigned to MF3 output pair 2). So what does raising and lowering the master fader do in this case that raising and lowering the instruments track doesn't?
9 years later, this is still the only video tutorial I can find for this topic on DP11
And add 11 months later to that, and it's still true:)
still true in summer of 2024.... HOW
I guess the equivalent is basically just using VEP in any DAW... but yeah, not much information.

DIez años más tarde... volviendo a DP

after 10 years of this great and awesome idea, is the routing a little less so bloody complicated? or it remained the same?
How do you get an audio signal into the v rack or virtual machine instrument for processing?
Do synths just make nerdy sounds for nerds??
Thanks, very informative!

It brings all the signals from chunks back to one place for final processing master etc
wow this is the most convoluted audio software ever
Ooookkk I'm gonna stick with my ableton live 10 intro
