I was able to manually drag the bar lines to the audio beats and that worked somewhat, although it gradually got out of sync. The automatic beat detection absolutely did not work. It put the sync point in a place that made no sense and i think that's where the screw up happened.

What if I know the tempo is 6/8 with an outro in 10/8?
Do I still leave it at the 120 in 4/4 time default and go through these steps or do I put in the time signature and then go through these steps?
    Thanks

This works to an extent for me, although it seems I need to merge all the soundbites in a track first if they are separated, in order for them to not slip out of time. I.e., the first track I recorded will line up but subsequent tracks already recorded will get out of time even if the tempo map has been cleared. Do all tracks need to be whole and start and stop at the same measure graphically?

1:21 How did you (shortcuts) grab all the soundbites and move them to the first available measure?

That was just a select-all, click and drag. Notice there is a "helper" icon on the timeline to show where your mouse positioning is relative to time in your sequence.

I've watched this video several times and DP9 does not have the same "adjust measures" functionality as described here. I think this is probably a DP8 tutorial. It would be great if it were updated to reflect the most current version.
With the audio track selected, and you attempt to adjust tempo by adjusting the barlines, as shown here, the cursor does not change to allow you to grab the bar line. Instead I get a lasso tool icon. And that does not permit moving the barlines to fit the sound bite tempo. The audio track tempo is fluid and I would like to make a tempo map for my sequence to follow.

Keep in mind that the Adjust Beats window must be open in order for the Adjust Beats feature to work. It's even not mentioned in DP10 manual. Please MOTU! ;-)

Ha maybe I'm dense but every time I try to create a tempo map from a simple stereo 3/4 drum track at about 129 bpm I go through this process, the meter changes back to 4/4 the tempo slows down to (god knows) 32 bpm, I'm at my wits end!

This is amazing! Thanks very much for this video, and I hate you too because now I'm gonna have to buy Digital Performer. Cheers ;)
