The key is just to offer them something free/valuable to get them to subscribe. Most will not just sign up for a newsletter if they are not given something in return so I offer them free tumbler designs.

I LOVE this video Bailey! My initial plan was to do exactly as you lay it out here. But I kept seeing the digitals going lower and lower in price (.50-1.50) and decided to go POD. It just seemed to me for the same amount of work that it was a good choice. BUT in my heart I love the didgital!! I am doing pod right now but in the back of my mind I am always wondering about how to set up my shop for both. I would love to see how you organize your shop (making it pretty and appealing). I have a hybrid shop and i started it last month, ive only made 7 sales of physical products and none of my digital. its tricky for sure. might have to close my shop down for a bit because its getting pricey even just by having to ship products out. You do realize that what you did with your first store, by not using social media and running ads, whether, inside of Etsy or outside of Etsy, within the first 6 months, is most likely why your store became so wildly successful, right? Using social media and Pinterest, in the first 3-6 months, can actually hurt a new store, and running ads, whether, inside of Etsy or outside of Etsy, is, also, not a great idea for new stores. 🤦♀️
Sorry, and really not sure where you're getting this information, but really have to disagree with this one as I just opened up a new shop, run only Pinterest ads at this point at usually 4-5x ROAS vs. the typical 2x from Etsy ads. We receive 70% traffic from Pinterest and have a 6% conversion rate which is amazing for POD. Since my original shop, I have started 3 other Etsy shops all of which have always be running Etsy ads & outside marketing from the launch date. They have all done extremely well... Additionally, we have spoken with Etsy after the release of the Share & Save program, encouraging sellers to promote their shops on SM...they have confirmed they do not penalize shops.
I want to see the Etsy shop from scratch. You're definitely the best Etsy explainer person I've found on TH-cam. Keep up the great work.

How do you build your email list? What lead magnets do you use and where do you post to capture emails? (Pinterest, TH-cam, Facebook, TickTock, etc.)
I've used MailChimp and GetResponse and usually it's a just free product designs via Facebook and TikTok originally
