I like how the M14 is the standard issued rifle of the US in this timeline. The reason why the M14 was never adopted as a standard issue rifle in our timeline was due to the harsh jungle environments of Vietnam. But since the United States isn't in Vietnam in this timeline it makes complete sense for them to adopt the M14 as their standard issue rifle.

The M-14 was the standard issue rifle for the US...IRL. The VC/NVA were using the AK and SKS. All the US had to give the ARVN was either M-1 Garands or M-1 Carbines. Neither of which were a match for the AK. Only alternative the US had was to give the ARVN M-14s. There were two problems with that: One is that the US didn't have that many extra to go around...still trying to arm their own forces with them. Two is the ARVN soldiers couldn't carry those big ass rifles around. Enter the M-16.

It's crazy how realistic this is. Virtually all what if Germany had won WW2 scenarios are more or less along the lines of "something, something, Germany takes over the entire world." It would never happen, because Germany didn't have the resources to conquer the entire USSR let alone the entire world, so the best they could hope for was to go on the defensive and make the Allied invasion so costly they would agree to a peace deal rather than unconditional surrender.

Interesting that Britain remains, but given the fact it took almost a year for the US to mobilize sufficiently, a good take. I still have to wonder if the Germans would have advanced further with ICBMs, given their best scientists remained, and given the high probability that their production facilities would not have moved underground. I would imagine a significant advancement without the limitations of our timeline.

Germany doesn't have as many nukes as the rivals because Hitler was never thrilled about nuclear weapons.
Germany in Vietnam: Let's use as many nukes as we can possibly find targets for. Why not?
There's some kind of jump in logic here in order to construct the general setting for the nuclear WW3. Logically Germany would have an arsenal closer to that of the USA because it simply couldn't afford not to have. Just like in our reality the USA and the USSR needed to accumulate ridiculous amounts of nuclear weapons simply because the other one couldn't be allowed to have much more for the sake of the balance of terror. If Hitler didn't like nukes, he wouldn't use them so easily, but he would still have them. However, the depth bombing of a German sub and the consequent response by the sub by using a nuclear torpedo to take out of the sub hunter fleet was a good detail in my opinion. It would have been pretty much the only thing the sub captain could do to return fire against such an overpowering enemy.

Considering their relative technological advantages over the United States and the Soviet Union, Nazi Germany could have developed a space program capable of producing satellites that could take pictures of the Axis powers as a defense mechanism. While obviously, the resolution of the photographs would not be great, surely they would have been enough to notice changes taking place on the border with the Soviet Union.

Don't be silly. I really dislike this popculture idea of German technology being superior. Truth is that Germany just rushed things into service, while other nations took their time developing. The west had the Gloster Meteor in 1944. The Soviets had their Jets too, sure Yak-15 was made using captured German Engines but it was a dead end. Mig-9 turned to be a better option. As for Rocket science, both sides uses German help but they didnt really need it, especially the soviets. They had scientists like Korolev, who had independently developed improved rocket designs while the the Germans were working on their ones. Russians had people like Konstantin Tsiolkovsky who worked on these things all the way back in the Tsarist Russia. The real limit to technology was material science, like metallurgy. To think that the USSR wouln't have any ICBMs or Submarines is just silly. Also to think that they woulndn't just bomb all the German troops in Vietnam. The realistic thing would be to have a three way space race. Germany wont the war, no need to continue the destruction. But you know, Germany is a Mary Sue in these scenarios.

Interesting. Two points. If the U.S. did not have to expend resources in Europe, then the war against Japan would have ended 'sooner', not later than in real history. Also, Poland would not have survived a German victory/truce, Poland would have been wiped from the map completely. In 1941 under Generalplan Ost Nazi Germany decided to destroy the Polish nation "completely", wipe Poland off the map, the German leadership decided that in 15-20 years the Polish state under German occupation was to be fully cleared of any ethnic Poles and settled by German colonists (see: Berghahn, Volker R. (1999). "Germans and Poles 1871-1945"). Otherwise, good video, looking forward to more.

It is always astonishing for me how smallest events, decisions and actions changed the history of the world. Sometimes one single person was enough to influence the fate of the humanity so drastically that you would not recognize the world of today if you could travel through time and dimensions to compare the different outcomes. For example, if someone had ratted out Gavrilo Princip, so that the assasination that plunged europe into the first world war never had happened in this form at that time, the world of today would look different beyond recognition. This event was the catalyzer that led to the rise or downfall of so many powers of this era and without it the rise of the NS,facist and the comunist regimes could not have happened in the form they happened. Simply because a chaotic world filled with millions of from the war brutalized veterans, blooming poverty and widspreaded despair was necessary to open the box of pandora and to push the domino stones over. I thought about that many times over the years and the thing that shocked me the most was that it is not clear for me that despite all the victims, the horrors and the suffering of hundreds of millions in these wars, that the world would be a better place today if that one assasination had gotten somehow prevented. Maybe the europen powers had some more years or even decades to put far more pressure on that powder keg that the world was at this time before it went off. But than with far more advanced mass-destruction weapon systems than they went into the first war with, but still not developed enough to prevent attacks with such weapons. The third reich had put some effort into the research of nuclear technologies and had somewhat of a progress under total war conditions and with ideological and self-harming barriers like expelling jewish or communist scientists before the war. But we will never know i guess.

I used to think that Austria would have attacked Serbia anyway, Russia would have come to Serbia's rescue anyway, Germany would have given carte blanche to Austria anyway, France and the UK would have been dragged into the war anyway, maybe a couple of months later. Now, I'm not so sure anymore. What if Russia's assault on Kyiv had succeeded, Zelensky had been killed in the first days of the war, China had exploited the occasion to attack Taiwan while NATO was busy shifting their air force to Poland and the Baltics? We would live in an even more gruesome world, or possibly not be alive at all.

Extremely well thought out and imaginative alternative history. However Japan declared war on America and Britain at the same time on the 8th of December, so forcing them to be allies and not just friends. Hitler and Mussolini also declared war on the USA on the 8th of December. It's interesting to note that although the USA declared war on Japan on the 8th it was not until the 11th of December that the United States declared war on Germany and Italy despite Germany and Italy having declared war on the United States on the 8th. One can see the problem. German and Italian immigrants and their direct descendants made up a sizable proportion of the American population. Quite a few American soldiers who fought for the USA in WW2 spoke German or Italian as their first language.

That is a very great hypothetical alternate history scenario like documentary video with amazing storyline and narration by using historical accuracy and data by using the Cold War Era from our timeline into this timeline from the missile crisis and the Vietnam war being nazi germany being in the south while the other countries including the USA being the north. With the same weaponry, technology, vehicles, ships and aircraft being developed and use during the Cold War along with their own nuclear weapons being hiroshima level that both sides who are powerful and less powerful if you’re have three superpowers blocks. I am very, very much glad that we won the Second World War and I’m still surprised that if nazi germany would have survive in this timeline scenario if it hasn’t already collapsed on itself either in a civil war or an different change in its government with newer policies. What about the scientists from nazi germany who are jewish would have probably flee and escape from being killed by defecting with their knowledge, blueprints, scientific notes and documents from Nazi Germany to the USA and the Soviets by helping them into building ICBMs, Jet Propulsion, Ballistic Missile Submarines, Hydrogen Bombs, and other advanced weaponry and technology to compete against Nazi Germany in this timeline? And what about the space race of who made it to the moon? It makes no sense at all but pretty much a good scenario if more research is done right now in regards.

Not bad at all and I enjoyed it a lot. But if Germany was so far ahead in technology and had nuclear war heads that early on, they would have pressured the others to diminish their nuclear arsenals. They would also have placed nukes in South America and Asia. It is also unlikely that a war in Vietnam would have depleted their nuclear arsenal, if they only dropped 10 bombs. They wouldn't have sent all the military might in such a small conflict either. Who knows, the UK might have become friendly with the Germans after Churchill or even the USA to fight communism together. Many peole said that the allies should have worked with the Germans against the Soviet Union.

The biggest problem with this scenario is that I think it would have eventually led to a war with Germany. It might have been months or years later, but considering American warships had attacked German U-Boats, despite saying they were neutral, and German U-boats had sunk the USS Ruben James in October of 1941, it is not a matter of if but when the US will go to war with Germany.
Not to mention, even if Germany doesn't declare war on the US, the US is still gonna provide supplies and material to the UK and the Soviets.

I would almost question if the US would still be providing the UK and the Soviets in this scenario. Providing others while you are at peace is one thing, but once you are attacked, are you still going to supply countries that aren't fighting YOUR enemy?
I think Congress would have scrapped or heavily cut back the lend-lease to UK and USSR in favor of the war effort against the Japanese.

18:06 In real life, this was actually a Soviet plan in case of a NATO invasion to nuke the Vistula line to stop Western advancements.

    • @mareklimanowski
      @mareklimanowski 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Conversely, it was a Western plan, and it assumed the bombing of facilities on the Vistula so that the expensive Soviet army drop would be stopped and the first chewing would be destroyed in the fight against NATO troops and forced to retreat, they wanted to destroy the first throw, bleeding it on the Rhine, there was to be defended and bleeding first the throw and the second blocking wanted NATO to win the war, although of course such a scenario did not assume any victory march on the red square, but rather forcing the Soviets into peace.

I did not get, why Germany should have less nuclear weapons, as the country is very rich on Uranium. Even the most Russian Nukes are made of German Uranium wich was mined in the eastern part of Germany (GDR) for the Soviet Union. The large Uran recources have been discovered shortly after WW2 and the Wismut mine produced eg from 1946 - 1990 a total of 216.300 t Uranium.
