To anyone doing this in the future, after you open the drain valve on the rear filter housing as he shows in the video and it stops draining, loosen the main cap(not all the way off) and you will get more fuel draining out of that drain valve. Then grab a plastic bag put it over the whole thing, turn the cap until the filter comes out and the whole mess will be in your garbage bag. No spills, no stink, done. Same thing with your oil filter put a bag around/under it once its loose, turn it by hand with the bag covering it, let it fall down in that hole with the bag and you wont spill oil all over the damn place.
I just changed mine after watching your video. Thank you so much for helping me save over $300 in less than 30 minutes! One thing that I would recommend about the sharp metal corner that he cut up his hand is to give it a few strokes with a file to round up the sharp edge and boom! No more annoying knife edge.
Same filter’s I use in my 21 ho. So far so good. I try to change mine ever 9 or 10,000 miles . Prob a waste of money , but I feel better changing them alittle earlier than I have too.
Thanks for the video, I’m glad I watched it because I had to dig in the trash for the box and sure enough, there was an o-ring in a plastic bag and this was just from the front filter
I have a '22 Cummins HO as well. I use a short plastic empty coffee can that fits perfectly under that rear filter. Let us know how you like those 'Docs' filters. As of yet, I've only used Mopar. Thanks for the video.
Appreciate the video. I’m new to owning a Ram Diesel so this helps. Love the dog in the background in most of your recording. My wife’s dog loves hanging out in the garage with me while I’m doing whatever as well.
I been using docs filters on my 2018 f250 since 2020, currently at 198k miles and I’ve never had a single issue running those filters. To each their own!!!! Docs diesel makes great filters, you just havnt tried it yet!!!
You can delete the engine block filter by putting a Cat 0750 fuel filter with a Baldwin water separator at the rear and get rid of the proprietary oem crap.

Great idea
As far as the oil filter goes. That little tool that screws into the filter works great.
Nice breakdown of tubing and equipment needed in play, appreciate the video

This was a good video. Thanks for the insight. I just bought a 2023 and will need to do this shortly.
Thank you for your time and effort to make this video, really appreciate it
Kudos to Dodge Ram for their 100% piss poor placement of these filters.
It's not that bad, the under hood filter is a little tight. I have pretty big hands and still not a problem.
The water separator isn’t to bad but the front is horsesh!t. How the fugg does it make any sense.
@@sequoiapietri5473 It looked good on CAD 🙄

I’ve used nothing but Doc’s in my ‘22 I really like them. Nothing bad to say at all.
Great video. Nice and clean without any mess. Thank you for sharing
Thanks for the video and for mentioning the drain hose/ tube is 3/8" appreciate the tutorial.
A tall Folgers coffee can works well sitting on top of the rear drive shaft
Thank you! Could you beleive the dealer here in Montreal was asking 300$ per filter to replace them!!
They want $500 here
it's ridiculous!
Great video. Thanks!
Thanks. That was easy.
How good are these filters I’m thinking of ordering to save myself money caused my dealership charges $220 MSRP and I do them myself
Everything I read says they are independently tested and meet or exceed OEM standards. They look no different then the OEM’s
Thank you for the video!
Thanks brother
Saved me $500 thank you
Thank you your.
I didn’t see you put the juice in.
Doesn’t it need it?
No need to add fuel to filters. You press the start button (without brake depressed) there times and the fuel pump fills the filters.
Appreciate the video.

Thanks, she goes everywhere I do.
Hey are you sure it’s a 28mm socket for the fuel filter cap?
Yes that is correct size.
28mm worked for me for both covers. That said, I had to use 8mm on the rear petcock valve, not the 3/8” mentioned.
28mm 6point not a 12
360p brother?
Cool
How long is that 1/2 pvc plastic tube
29" - fits to the bottom of my jug so it won't slip off with the truck on 6" high ramps
@@fishfearus2520 awesome thank you
Have heard horror stories about this brand!!
I’d never use that crap on my truck!

@@aaronkelley8909 docs fuel filters from 38k miles to 198k. No issues yet! I should mention that docs diesel is my buddies company. They are great
Use oem filters
