Awesome review Benjamin! I’m surprised your copy didn’t have a map, mine did and I definitely referenced to it frequently.
Hahaha you NEED to read WoT 😂

Great review. I haven't read The Lies of Locke Lamora because there so much mixed reviews out there. Apparently, the author is one of those ones who doesn't like finishing his series. For those reason I don't want to pick it up.😊 Kings of The Wyld was a fun read. It's not the best thing I've read, but a fun pallet cleanser. 😊 Hope you enjoy it.

Ah that makes a lot of sense why I don't hear about the series that much. This book definitely feels like a complete story, it doesn't end on a cliffhanger where I need the next book to continue the story. If that makes any sense :D

I'm with you on several points. I liked Lies (and used it for the same square), but those chapters and the dual narrative style made for a slower read than it could have been. Now I want gentleman bastards who are more bastardly.

I am still hunting some grim dark book, that is actually grim dark. I'd love a story about bandits and thieves, that spends most of the book on actually banditry and theivary.

One of my all-time favorite books! I thought the second book was almost as good. It took so long for the third book to come out, I still haven't read it!

Ah, I didn't realize that it was one of those series where the books take ages, probably why I don't see the series recommended that often. I think I will probably read book 2 at least, I love sea faring stories.

Having read both Lies and Mistborn, I think you describe the difference in plot structure adequately. I probably enjoyed this book more than you because I didn’t mind the flashbacks at all. Once the first couple happened I accepted it as something that was going to continue happening. The two books that come after are not as good. Also, the flashbacks continue.
If you want to read a fast paced book with dragons, I would suggest The Rage of Dragons by Evan Winter.

Just read the blurb for Rage of Dragons, that sounds like a heap of fun! Adding it to my wishlist and keeping and eye out for it in shops! Thanks for the recomendation!
Yeah I think I may give the rest of the series a skip, I'll revisit it perhaps if it ever gets finished and people are happy with the conclusions. Thanks so much!
