1:36 If you have multiple gems in your inventory, a Gem Shrine will upgrade the gem that has been in your inventory for the most amount of time. Taking a gem out of your inventory resets the time that it has been in your inventory.

6:38 correction- you can pick up a crystal sword from normal cows and if you socket it, you will always get 4 sockets, one of the few places
nice build mine is Bow Passive Amazon with another Amazon as merc. Starting until you unlock your summons at lvl 30 your stats should match your bow you want. Skills get only passives don't put anything in bow skills.
Mid game with summon and merc try to max your summon 1st it will become your tank while you fire away your bow with 2 elements. Get a bow with 3 sockets for both you and merc put your best elemental damage gems in it must be different elements for you and your amazon merc. resists and mana on your armour until you get a good armour.
Late game or nightmare and hell must have runeword bow both you and your amazon merc. Must have good armour too and summon must be max lvl will die less much more tanky than any character in game also you must have 10+ on important passive skills.
Tip:
Now your invincible for the most part but don't go charging at enemies let your summon take enemy agro by either respawning her on top of enemy or by pulling enemies towards her.

I can't believe you're comparing Llama and this. Respectfully, this is an amateur guide. Sure it can work then you hit act 4 and have ZDPS. Have you even tried this build?
@@iamunknown8699I made a run yesterday with this build and I cleared Act4 without any problems, sure you deal less damage in Act 4, as it is the case with most leveling builds ( Wake of Fire assassin, Holy Fire Paladin, Fireball Sorc ) since mobs in Act4 have hidden fire resistance and more HP, but I was able to go through it without much problems.
The real downside of this leveling build is the boss damage, which lacks, but with enough mana pots you eventually are able to kill them. Then you get to act 5 and obliterate everything including Ancients and then cruise all the way to A3 nightmare like a breeze.
I'm pretty sure you didn't actual test this build otherwise you wouldn't be saying that.
FYI Block chance only appears when hovering over your defense stat. It does appear in the advanced stats tab

I am trying to get back into the game (since I used to play the original D2 back in the day for literal hours on end with a friend from school) and it is a little overwhelming and these guides are helping to get back into the game.

These videos are just absolutely perfect for a beginner like me. I struggled to keep up with other guides because they tend to skip over a lot of stuff.
D2 is way, waaay more complex than I though. So much hidden depth.
I will say this, hell was a complete nightmare for a pure light Amazon. I had to respec to a poison/plague jav/charge mix. And hell was so much easier after that. I really didn’t think I was going to get past act 3 hell with all those light immunes. Hope this helps someone!

@@tavyplayzz2 I did max plague javelin, max poison javelin, then max charged strike, and just did one of the synergies for charged. And I put one point into most of the passives and got one point in Valkyrie. Valkyrie was super helpful for keeping enemies attention.

Don't forget to shop for a Lower Resist wand as you'll be able to break most lightning immunes with the wand, making it easier for you to progress in Hell.
This is an amazing video! Thank you! I used to play the game (before being resurrected) and knew what to do. I picked up D2R yesterday and was a little overwhelmed, but this video is exactly what I wanted: someone to just tell me what to do so I don't have to think. :D
1 thing I'll debate with all these character guides is the fact no one ever mentions allocating stat points to wear magic find gear. I always increase strength in the beginning to put on strong 2 socket with chipped mf gems and a 2 socket helm. It gives you a little magic find to find low gear you need at the start. Other than that good guide.
MF is useless before end game

Are you aware that there are very useful unique/set items you can drop in normal/nightmare that can help you a lot during your run? Are you aware that you can drop SoJ from NM Andy if you have a bit of MF?
Also, the first 50-100% mf you get actually does a HUGE difference as opposed to running 0% mf.
I wish there would be more leveling guides that naturally end up with a viable endgame build
200 times resetting the store in act five and still no javs of swiftness.... Might want to clarify how necessary that is given how much of a pain they are to get
Took me about 15-20 tries of going in out of Pindle portal before I got them. I don't think they're 100% vital, they just allow you to attack targets faster. If you were lucky enough to find nice speed javs along the way or ias gloves along the way then you should be fine.
I know exploding arrow has good damage and all but the mana cost is so high that the gameplay is really annoying so is there any other viable way to lvl amazon?
use it with the recommended Tir Tir hat and you'll get 4 mana after kill. use it when enemies are bunched and you'll rarely run out of mana.

still dont get how ppl like amazon javlin like u only have 90 ammo using town portal every 2minutes?
Early on you can carry 1 or 2 additional Javelins to quickly swap when you're about to run out, and later on the first item you should try to trade for is Titan's Revenge, which recharges over time, making it so you almost never have to portal back to town to restock.
I didn't think the Lower Resist Wand lowered resist enough in Hell to deal with the immune enemies you can't skip like the barb in Act V. Did that change or is that just a mandela on my part?

I don't understand why you wait for the respec if you are already 38. why wait until NM act 4?
Is Rhyme mandatory to get before respecing? Been farming Shael for a while now…

Chapter 4 has tons of high fire immunities and even a decently geared merc gets surrounded quickly and killed, so how are you clearing Baal let alone Chapter 4 while under level 25?

He's not, he's just reading a guide someone else wrote. I'm usually just getting to Act 3 around 25. These level reqs he's talking about are made by speed runners who ignore 95% of the mobs they run past in the game and cheese everything.

How the heck do you get to nightmare act 4 with lvl 38. Im 45 and i didnt played anything that wasnt needed.
Great video! Just one question, besides the level requirement, why is it better to use rubies on the bow instead of the rune ral?
Ive been using this great guide in season 4. The only thing ive noticed is you spend a lot on mana pots and other things; so itts not always easy to buy thungs like staff ot tele. Try to pick up wands and sell them
I don't know if this guide is outdated but it's not as easy as it's told for a complete beginner.
I'm level 27 and struggling at act 4 normal. Getting through chaos sanctuary is impossible for me as mana drain is a huge problem with this build even with regen from the runewords. Exploding arrows do not one shot enemies anymore so I have to constantly stock up on mana potions that I easily run out of. I have 2 rubies and 1 perfect ruby (I farmed shrines) slotted into my bow which is a better setup than the one expected in this build but it's still not enough to breeze through the acts in normal like this guy says it's supposed to. The staff of teleportation and the mercenaries are too expensive at this point to even utilize because repairing/rehiring them cost so much gold.
At level 27 it should be easy for you to clear chaos sanctuary. Use more charged strike. I wouldn't even try exploding arrow in act 4. Get an act2 merc to help you out as well and try to find a pike in act 4 from hablu or a rare along the way if lucky enough to use on merc. Also hopefully you find a decent rmor or helm along the way for merc otherwise jsut get him something.

This is so fun to follow! I do have one issue...I am getting BODIED by Bosses. Mephisto was spanking my little ass over and over. I probably should have been keeping an eye out for better bows/rubies maybe?
Make sure you have a 3os Hunter Bow to begin with, you want to check Charsi everytime you come back to town, and if you haven't found one by the time you're in Act3, I would suggest reseting Charsi until you find one, and then putting the highest Rubies you find in it, you can safely farm the Council in Travincal from a distance without them being able to attack you and hopefully drop a couple here and there before you go fight Mephisto. And when you get to him, just use the moat trick and bring lots of mana pots, it's the easiest boss since he cannot attack you.
Back when we played this we had nothing like this ha, imagine sussing all this out for yourself and with friends..I feel gaming has lost something. However now we are here in this modern gaming world I love your content 👍 it's spot on.

if i have 3 Ral Runes, should i not put that into a 3 socket bow ?? as one ral rune in a weapon gives 5-30 Fire Damage ????? does that work ?
I found leveling a Charged Strike Amazon was way easy to continue to a Lighting Fury Amazon later. The fire in Bows drops off significantly by Act 4. I had a bad time with getting to Diablo with the bow.
exploding arrow becomes really ineffective starting normal act 4 so it's almost impossible to use it in nightmare,can I respect rn since I am already lvl 38?

I agree with exploding arrows... I stopped using it in like a3 or a4 normal, and mana drainage with it is insane. I switched to exclusively charged strike. I think he says to wait until level 38 because that's when you can get enough points into lightning fury for it to actually be effective. I think you can restat earlier and utilize charged strike until light fury is more effective at level 38 in my opinion.
why do i want more than 1 stack of the swiftness javelins?

I see faster block rate, not block chance, in the advance tab and it doesn't change no matter how much points I use in dex
in the nightmare section the 10% inc AS on gloves and the 30% inc AS on weapon does not reach the stated 50% inc AS breakpoint as stated

You can still do that! You don't have to play the way the guides say to enjoy the game, get in there and express yourself!

All those guides need is *Get Strangling gas potions on swap* refill them by selling them and rebuying them. It really does help early on for monster pack/countess
My Amazon has way more poison damage from her poison javelin. It could be justified in the very early game, at level 4 maybe.
I can’t get past act 3 as a Javazon :( I’m even way over leveled at 84. Such a pain with no infinity.
Don't forget to put one Point into Lightning Strike.. since it is a Synergie to our Lightning Fury... you would easy lose on good Damage here..
Why at level 38 during the reskilling do you not add a point into lightning strike? Wouldn't the 1 base point and then any skills boost from +skills gear, like Lore, make this give you more damage than waiting to stat it later? Or why do you wait to stat it? Also, why does order or level lightning bolt and charged strike matter? They appear to give the same % damage boost per level when supporting CS or LF..

I remember my first playthrough ages ago, was lvl 30 at Diablo normal.
I was only like lvl 24. And a barb. Aaaand with an unoptimized build. Boy was it tough! Town portal diving constantly

The best way of lvling has always been baal runs normal to lvl 42 and then you obliterate everything in nightmare

I am having the same issue and I got to level 28 when I fought baal's minions. Exploding arrow is useless on that wave.

Why respec at level 38 when you can't use lightning fury until 39? Now I have a gimped character I can't level and can't respec.. what a complete waste if time.
You can use Charged Strike to obliterate everything in your path before putting points in Lightning Fury, use your brain a little, where are all the other skill points you used?

About upgrade Death's sash set item, I already done it but it won't upgrade then I found out at patch note 2.4 stated that the upgrading set item for ladder mode exclusive CMIW
2 soc armor= tal, eth stealth or nef lum smoke. 2 soc helm= ort, sol lore hmm nadir debate. 3 soc bows tir tal amn edge asap! Pointless to put more than 1 point in poison javelin skill because of charms and 2 socs jav with emeralds.
I followed the build and now I only have damage and a set for lightning and I can't finish the game because one of the quests is to enter the worm lair and everyone is immune to electricity. I can't dodge it because it's narrow and I can't kill anything because everyone is immune. I basically ruined my game by following this.
that's where a teleportation staff comes in play, teleport through maggot layer.

Imbue sucks it's like gambling with gheed lol. But iirc wait to use your imbue until your lvl 70 or more, better chances of affixes/suffixes

I finished normal act 5 at level 30. Nightmare act 1 I'm now 35. I'm not sure why but I seem to be leveling faster then what he says here. Maybe its an Xbox thing. Also how to check block chance on an Xbox. I'm not seeing the stat under the advanced tab.
I can’t beat Baal’s minions on normal at lv23. I have followed this guide to the letter and deal almost no damage at all to the 5th wave. I would need millions of gold to afford the amount of potions this would take if I spent hours whittling them down. I don’t understand what I’m doing wrong and apparently no one else has this issue. I’m about to quit this damn game.

I heard to never go into bow but I find it pretty hard to find any good Javelins so I went exploding arrow/multi shot and now I am level 27 in nightmare.But I want to respect into Javezon but don't have a good Javelin until level 42.Don't know what to do really.I think I am going to do some nightmare cows with my sorc and see if I can find a Javelin worth using.
Tele staff is Lvl 18 and not 24 right? Just playing the guid (very good job btw) but cant you buy tele staff at lvl 17 cause tele is lvl 18 skill?

Level 2-6, *Javelin.*
Level 6-10, *Poison Javelin.*
Level 12, Bow *(Exploding Arrow).*
*Note:* Continue to use Poison Javelin from your secondary Weapon Swap until the end of Act 1.
*Summary:*
01. Use *Javelins* and *Poison Javelin* until Level 12.
02. Use *Exploding Arrow* until you respec.
03. Then respec into *Lightning Fury* and *Charged Strike* is recommended at Level 32+.
04. *Farm The Countess* in Normal and Nightmare for the key *Runewords* that are used.
05. *Buy* a *Gnarled Staff of Teleportation* before Level 24.
06. *Buy* a *Wand of Lower Resistance* before Level 36.
07. Be careful with the item bases you buy from the vendors. *Runewords do NOT work on Magic Items!*
08. *Lightning Immune monsters* can be a problem. Re-roll Boss Affixes, maps or simple run past them if you need to.

hey im a beginner .... i cant use the skills for the bow... i have enough strengh, dex and other shit i dont know why i cant use exploding bolt or multishot etc. ... WTF ...pls help! :)
You probably don't have arrows equipped.

i find like 10 rubies, even upgraded some at gem shrine twice already i think, & changed hunterbow(3 socket) 3 times with higher grade rubies each time

That's fine, the only function of the staff is using the *Teleport.*
Equip it in your secondary weapon slot and assign teleport to your left or right mouse click.

1. *Selling magic and rare items:*
Circlets, Pelts, Barb Helms, Scepters, Wands, and Staves will sell for max gold at the vendors.
This will cover the Repair/Recharge cost.
2. *Horadric Cube recipe:*
Weapon + Ort + Chipped Gem
This will fully repair and recharge your Staff.

Question if you have time to answer (I know this video is a year old) I’ve found tons of beginner and end game tutorials but I’m around level 35. So far I’ve only seen ppl adding to VIT after a touch to strength to equipped gear. I know end game I need 150 strength and 120 DEX to equip gear. When should I start adding points there ? Do I wait for a NM/Hell respec? Sorry I just don’t want to have 209 VIT and all a sudden need 200 points to add to DEX/Strength. Ty so much for your content !! Binge watching it atm!
You never need that much. you prob need like 60 or something. Then you equip an item which give you a large chunk that enables another item that gives you a further chunk etc. This is what respecs are for. You get 3 and a leveling guide should never have more than 1.

Wish your message was 4 months earlier tho haha. 45-70 strength MAX to level up your character then much later respec into endgame and add the points where there needed to equip the gear you slowly farmed for the character then all points go to vit. Seems SO simple now after 4 months and several characters built into endgame online and now doing SSF which is even better imo. Appreciate your response, much simpler then you might think when your 1 week into this game

Woild i just use hunters bow all the way till nm act4 with 3 chipped rubys?
when u run out of javelins do u have to change them manualy or the next one from inv equips cuz i got 3 sets of them but they have different stats and seems like igotta equip them manualy every 90 throws
you should be repairing all items after every few floors or each time you come across a waypoint, this will keep your gear fresh and your javs fully stocked
