Please tell me you do know that you can't make a baby on your own. Even if you make a child through artificial insemination you still are using the sperm of a man and that's the bottom line.

Shuler, you are preaching! My wife and I are equally yoked, but not in the conventional since. Our financial situation isn't what makes our situation work. The ends are more than meeting, but she completes my half to make me whole. She calms my spirit when I'm agitated, aggravated or annoyed. I am her solitude, her support, her anchor, and etc. We uplift, support and bring multiple talents to the table to make the ship sail, and the engine run smoothly. I support her, she supports me, and we need and support each other! Teamwork makes it all work!!

My grandmother brought to the table her beauty and her youth. She brought her homemaking skills that included grocery shopping, cooking meals, packing lunches, cleaning, laundry and keeping a fine home. She brought to the table sexual access and birthed 11 children and was the primary caregiver for all of them and was the babysitter for us grandchildren. She brought to the table constant support and companionship for 50+ years of marriage until death departed them and she passed first.

A former coworker gave his wife the option to pay half the bills with him, or he'd pay them. He was financially responsible and capable of doing so. When she became pregnant, she worked three days before she had their sons. They agreed she'd take the first year off to be a mom. He was still managing the household along with her during this time. He was dad, but he knew she was mommy, and he appreciated that. All in all, together, they agreed she'd go back to work when the kids went back to school. He still loves her for that decision to give up four years of her life to be their sons first teacher

I have a friend who married at 45. Financially, she brought nothing to the table and nor did her husband expect it. He wanted a friend, a companion and someone who had his back. He had no problem being a provider. They work well together. She keeps a nice house, manages their affairs, runs the errands, she prepares awesome meals and even bakes home made goodies. He keeps the bills paid and makes sure she is provided for. In addition to working, he helps her out with home projects. When money is tight, she will get a job and work until the money restrictions are lifted. It was a bit bumpy in the beginning because he was a bit needy for her taste but eventually, they worked out and now it has been about 16 years.

Each couple should make a life that works best for them. Stop looking at other couples as goals, especially Hollywood couples. A man doesn't have to make six figures to qualify as a good man. It's his character that is most important. Both men and women should ask questions when dating. And dating should be intentional. If you know someone is not for you early on, don't string that person along until you find someone else. Be cognizant of other people's time. Time is what makes up a person's life. People should stop stealing people's lives because they don't want to be alone.

Imagine waiting for the other person to tell you about their character. It seems like you need to discern that person for yourself. They could say anything. You find out about a person's character by getting to know them.

You shouldn’t ask someone what they are bringing to the table because they would tell you whatever they think you want to hear. You should just ask them questions about the important things you want to know about hear what they say and then observe what they do.

Steve Harvey had a wife who stuck by him when he was sleeping in cars. Then let a woman call for him at home and ask for her husband. He leaves but doesn't provide a better standard of life for her. He forgot about her encouraging words when he was down. Then she wasn't good enough. I'm not saying he shouldn't leave her, but at least do right by her.

If you ask that question people are going to tell you whatever they think you want to hear but at the end of the day you will have to find out for yourself through your daily interactions with such persons, exactly what it is they bring to the table.

@@Mr._Moderate The truth of the matter is people say things they think a person wants to hear. Observation allows you to see if their actions are truly in alignment with what was said. It show the true content of their character. Also you may begin to see gifts in her that she hasn't even fully realized yet, because we are ever growing, and can help her cultivate them further.

Shuler my bro thank you for breaking that down! As a black man it appears most of our bros& sister's minds have taken a vacation. That's why 48% black females aren't married. When you go for a job interview the employer asks for a resume? Folks in Hollywood can't tell anyone about marriage, these people are ACTOR'S. Marriage to them is a like a drive through menu.
