The body positivity take was SPOT ON.
I’m very similar to ZT in that I don’t have the “I do steroids” and or sub 15 percent body fat look. I’m also not PHAT (as in over 25 percent body fat either) I play rugby and lift religiously. I eat well. I have an AVERAGE athletic physique that I know is healthy.
As a personal trainer at a well known gym in AZ though I’m surrounded by vain and unrealistic gear heads that think ANYTHING less then a shredded 6 pack of abs physique is FAT.
This is a HUGE problem and I’m glad it was touched on.
It is all about mindset. A lot of people got into fitness because they were really skinny, or really fat. Unfortunately, even if they reach a point where they are ‘fit’, their brains tells them that they are STILL too skinny or too fat so they go to extremes. That is why that the fitness influencer space actually has some of the most unhealthy (eating disorder, overtraining, too much PED use) people out of all groups.
@@bensonvongcouldn’t agree more
RUGBY GUY 😍😍😍😍😍😍☺️❤️❤️❤️💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿
Well, I'd say you can have two sides to that coin. I definitely see far more cases of people considering 30% bf a normal/average physique just bc it is so, statistically speaking. Most people don't understand how little fat already makes you fat and (somewhat) unhealthy. I say that bc I have personally encountered a lot of cognitive dissonance concerning this, over the years.
At the same time, there's the overly critical side. I feel like this is just the pendulum swinging the other way. People in a counter belief system to the former, going well too far and into unhealthy ranges the other way. Although these, again, are more rare in my experience and usually direct that attitude only at themselves. But maybe it's a cultural thing (I'm German).
@@MellonVegan yes, I have seen tons of people push back against BMI because ‘it doesn’t tell the whole story’. And while it is true that people who have tons of muscle can’t really use BMI as a gauge for health (BF is much better but also harder to check for). BMI still works for a majority of the population. When I see people who are 5’ 8” 230lbs who work a desk job who does zero exercise say ‘but BMI isn’t he be all and end all’, I just frown because it is just them not accepting that it isn’t healthy for them. Again, they shouldn’t be shamed but they also need to look after their health and make an effort to eat better and exercise more.

There is fat and there is really fat. There is muscular and there is stupidly muscular, there are also endurance athletes that go way beyond what’s healthy. Geez people, be moderate. @@leoabreu1412 I am, but I would call myself a high level guy by any means. But I suppose you’re right, that definitely skews it. I played d3 football, but I was definitely still pretty unhealthy at that weight
I think you're absolutely right about this subjective perception of whether someone is fat or not. Before switching to olympic lifting a few years ago, I did triathlon for quite some time, and let me tell you: people out of the endurance sport community have a completely different perception of the ideal body than people coming from strength sports. That was a big eye-opener for me, knowing people from both sport scenes. From the point of view of a lot of endurance athletes, basically every single strength athlete is fat. For most weightlifters, triathletes are just skinny and frail. That really showed me how our environment shapes our expectations of "the ideal body shape".
Ironic, hilarious and true.
I went from natty bodybuilding, to powerlifting to ultra running (100 milers). Such a weird bunch of humans all across the board. Love em all!
This is the reason I stopped caring for the gym/trying to get big and decided that I'll do calisthenics and just do cardio by biking around. I learned that many "huge" guys die prematurely or completely destroy their bodies, can't properly move, aren't flexible at all, and are just heavy and that's it.
Bikers, guys who do calisthenics, and any other form of activity are happier, fun, positive energy, skinny but very strong (stronger than gym bros), fast, agile, flexible and so on. Overall they look and "feel" more healthier than gym guys that look big and dmb.
I also see no point in getting jacked from a life standpoint, not even for girls as usually they don't care much about it (I've lived in many cities/countries and I know they care more about other stuff than your looks unless you have that lazy/very fat/unhealthy looks)
There’s no subjective anything 😂, there’s a scientific metric and we have eyes

About the "exercise is 1.5 times more effective than drugs and/or therapy for depression" thing, I know for myself, this is 100% correct. My mom unalived herself 2 years ago and the Dr. said this to me. She really stressed that I MUST exercise for mental health so I listened. Let me be clear: I've never loved exercise. But it truly has helped me get out of the crippling depression that came after that devastating event. However, it took me medication to get enough energy to start exercising. Now I'm no longer depressed, don't go to therapy anymore, still on medication and can truly tell the difference in my general mental health if I don't exercise. If you're struggling, please try it. It doesn't have to be hard, just consistent.
Works for me as well. Going to the gym 45-1.25hrs a 5-6x a week improved my mental health massively.
That’s a very balanced look at it - sometimes you need medicine, therapy, or some other help just to get you to a healthy enough place to consider eating healthy or working out.

There was also a segment where they had a conversation comparing a bodybuilder to the average obese person and everyone except for Myron agreed that one was not better than the other.
@@LodesDipper But Greg said that that's why he felt disgusted when he saw fat ppl. He did a similar thing at the end of the day.
It’s “you’re not wrong Walter, you’re just an asshole.”
The reason I was obese was because idgaf if I was alive or not
I was hopeless and miserable and felt like an absolute failure at every aspect of my life
I hated myself and felt inadequate in everything
60 hours a week in a horrible job and I still was living at home
I was working so hard to still just be a failure and the only thing that brought any comfort to me at that time was food
So I ate myself into gaining 150lbs in two years
I didn't want to be alive
I didn't need any shaming I already hated myself as much as I could
And only started to get better when I began to become hopeful that maybe I could do something with my life and actually are about the person I am instead of hating myself for not magically waking up one day as someone else
I wanted to be anyone else but me
I didn't ask to be born
But here I am stuck with this bullshit
So I might as well try to do some cool stuff before I die instead of just letting myself rot
I'll probably never own a home and can't even really make enough to afford my own place but I'm working towards getting a camper so I can travel the country and work seasonally
I still hate my life most days but I'm changing and healing because I'm spending more time with people, training and getting stronger so I have objective improvement that I can't twist into another thing tonhate myself over and I'm moving towards a future that's not just overtime purgatory just to afford the bare minimum
I still am indifferent if I die or not
But now it's towards wanting to be a Wildland Firefighter and maybe I'll die trying to save the wilderness instead of dying cause I was binge eating
Idek what I'm getting at anymore.
Obesity is a problem of mental health and what people do to cope. Not a problem of try harder cause you're a lazy bum and you suck.
No amount of shaming and hatred ever made anyone healthier. You need tough love, not tough shaming, not vitriol.
Shouting into the void here if anyone ever actually reads this far in the future maybe check in on me to see if I found something else to live for I'm gonna keep trying because I'll be damned if I let the devil win.
The shame around living with your parents in a country where it's damn near impossible to buy a home is ridiculous. Hope you're doing alright. really there is so much in this world to make it worth living despite all the terrible shit.
Sorry you’re going through it- I know how you feel. I know from experience that shame isnt motivating; progress is motivating. I have all the same issues you mentioned, except that I work out all the time, because it’s often the only time I feel ok and my shame turns off. Lifting heavy shit is a literal lifesaver for me. I'm gonna figure it out one way or another.
I agree completely. If it’s any consolation you very much can turn things around for yourself as I was able to do. I was also obese and had this same mindset, it really is a psychological battle that you have to fight. My obesity came from me suppressing who I was and from having this same mindset. I am gay, but in my obese mindset I would’ve rather died from eating myself to death rather than tell anyone. When my mom passed away I was at rock bottom and decided to come out of the closet to people who were close to me and got a lot of support. If you asked me when I was obese if I could see myself where I am today I would’ve laughed.
Eric Janicki (the jacked guy) is legit af. Hope he can get his pro card soon because iirc he has yet to turn pro.
I used to live in a dangerous part of town and one of the most dangerous neighborhoods in that part of town. I literally couldn’t walk around without being run up on. I had to drive to the gym to get a daily walk. There are definitely circumstances where you can’t even walk out your front door for a walk.
I agree, I LOVE walking and just being outdoors in general, problem is I live in a sketchy area. I would occasionally just walk outside for a few hours on a trail or just walk around my neighborhood but the last year or so has made doing those things feel very unsafe. Not only are there dangerous people and addicts on the streets but walking is not nearly as accessible anymore. I had to stop walking, and got a gym membership so I could do cardio there. I eventually bought an elliptical for my house so I could do cardio at home and have the gym be strictly for strength training. While there was an alternative in my case I sympathize with people who live in bad areas and have no alternatives.
I've always been an athlete and fit. At times in my life I've been closer to Myron on this topic. I'm turning 50 this year and now it's really just: Be kind, model health and if someone is ready to be convinced they already are by your example. Be happy to help if they ask. Otherwise you're wasting your time and possibly being a dick.
I agree with you but shaming worked very well for me when I was younger. I’m not saying it’s great but only that it was very effective in my case . Had I grown up in todays ultra pc world I might be content to stay fat
@@brianmeen2158 I grew up in the 80's, I understand. I think there is a middle ground between having positive standards and honesty telling people what they need to hear vs true shaming or bullying. I agree, him and Dr. Nodalsky really did a deep dive into whether we can definitively say if obesity is a choice. But either way, I think a lack of empathy from anyone is a bad look.
@@harrison3910 Yeah I was never expecting empathy for others from the fresh and fit guy or coach Greg so here we are
@@harrison3910obesity is a choice though. Well a lack of structure and discipline .. the rise in obesity in America is truly shocking to me ..
@@brianmeen2158 micro choices that aren’t always in your control doesn’t necessarily make it choice. No one WANTS to be obese. Gaining weight happens bc of life, the number one reason is having kids. It screws with your sleep, diet, and priorities. It’s unfair to people who are just trying to live their life. Have some empathy, you wouldn’t tell someone who got cancer, “you did this to yourself.” Sometimes, cancer is the same way, micro choices that lead to a disease that may not always be in our control. If you’ve never worked with patients who are trying to lose weight it’s hard to understand.
@@harrison3910you're insane comparing cancer to becoming fat. And yes, if you smoke and get cancer, it's YOUR fault. Having too much empathy is a bad trate.
Behavior is multi factorial. Blaming everything in the individual is myopic. Let´s start with changing our corrupt food system.
But at the end of the day if you eat sensibly and exercise you will not be obese .. it’s that simple for 98% of people. It’s hard to deprive yourself though and people don’t like discomfort
@brianmeen2158 Bullshit. True, food companies are smart enough to design foods to be ridiculously highly-palatable for the average person for repeat business, but once you know that it’s ridiculously simple to manage your eating habits. (I was obese) The real problem is how comfortable especially 1st world/western world people are with everything they eat having to please their palates over themselves being useful and healthy.
Exactly. When you see large scale changes in a society, in any area, it doesn’t make sense to blame individual psychology; it’s clearly the result of a change in environmental conditions. People weighed much less even 40 years ago- it’s not as if people had more discipline or willpower then

First of all, the video is "fit versus fat", and 'jacked' seems to just be a synonym for do they do steroids.
Furthermore, this is literally the point Zack made in the video. You guys are hilarious in your criticism of peoples physique, as there were four guys, and two of them do gear, and they are 'jacked' hurdurhur.... The two guys not on gear are not in fit, they are just skinny 🤣

Hey Zack you are a good fitness dude imo big inspiration and I don’t even do weight lifting I just do bodybuilding style lifting and BJJ. But I appreciate your mindset and abilities and takes. I like your channel been watching for a few years now.
I don’t know how Greg can say what he says at 0:21 with a straight face. Someone who has taken steroids for decades cannot have that stance without being incomprehensibly hypocritical.
I would like to pose a scenario to those who share Myron's mindset. You are jacked stacked and succulent, work hard, earn good money, have your own place and you reproduce with a beautiful young tradwife. Due to complications in the pregnancy she can't exercise as much as would normally be recommended. She gains a lot of weight and after having the baby she gets very poor and often interrupted sleep. She barely has tine to take a shower or eat a snack throughout the day. Only when you come home and take the baby can she make you your perfectly portioned meal with your macros counted. After she cleabs up you give her back the baby so you can work out. She obliges even though she's exhausted because she knows how important fitness is to you. Do you A. Shame her for being fat and not taking steps to lose weight. Or B. Sacrifice some time from your own work, training, sleep and eating so you can lessen the burden on her and be there for your family, or C. Divorce her and abandon your offspring because you, as a jacked and stacked alpha deserve a high value female and can't stand a run down overweight woman dragging you into the mire of mediocrity?

I’m positive people in Greg’s life told him to stop and he didn’t. It’s addiction. At the end of the day the addict needs to want help. Telling an addict to stop will never and has never worked.
on the topic of body positivity i have found it essential to be able to navigate fitness and fitness circles. due to instant access of the internet where mostly the cream of the crop rise up, its pushed not only our body standard but strength standards as well to ludicrous levels. The fact is many people do not have the genetics or circumstances to do what they see online. Then because you could not reach these said metrics in x amount of time, it because you dont work hard enough, or youre lazy, etc.. That leads not only to insecurity but also leads to people either quitting, or pushing harder when they are already doing TOO MUCH. if they continue they develop chronic injuries, which then becomes an acute one, kind of like a crack in glass, getting worse and worse over time until it shatters. I say this because this happened to me, it took me 5 years to hit the 2,3,4 plates, where people could hit those in 6 months doing a basic 5x5. leading up to that i had chronic shoulder pain getting worse and worse over the course of 3 years, to where i would get intense pain if i got my hand to the the height of my shoulder or higher. luckily i listened to my body and have been seeing a physio for years, learned i had very little scapular function in my left shoulder and was compensating for years. today i can lift weights, but i cannot push past an rpe of 7 on compounds or else i might risk a serious muscle strain. Learning to be comfortable and accepting that i wont be able to lift how i want, or even look how i want, was the heathiest thing i could have done. i might be a dyel forever, and never make another PR, but at the end of the day im in a lot less pain, and happier in my own body, i have decent abs, a poppy chest, nicely shaped glutes, decent forearms, and surprisingly wide shoulders, and thickish neck and traps from training combat sports. im 5'11" 170ish and decently lean, while nothing extraordinary i can take pride in what i have been able to build.

Yeah, Myron bugs the hell outta me.
I’m in the middle of turning my health around what sucks about it is no guy, tough love or motivational speeches got me there. The thing that got me there was reaching a point where I was finally sick and tired of being sick and tired. That’s what had to happen. I don’t know how I can take that to motivate others.
Some things would work in the short term. Brian Shaw and strongmen in general were a big motivation I could go back to. They taught me I didn’t have to get back to my high-school graduation weight to be happy. I could get big in a better sense of the word. I guess another thing that helped was turning 30, my 20’s were spent saying “I’ll handle it in my 30’s” over and over again. But the biggest thing was reaching that sick and tired tolerance limit. Anyone else experience what I’m trying to say?
Yes sir you got this bro
I agree completely, when I was overweight there was nothing that anyone could say to me or do to get me to change. It was really about finding the drive in myself to actually pull it off. It sounds weird but the solution is from within.
Absolutely. No amount of external shame got me to change my ways, it has to come from within. Keep on keeping on, man.

16:29 hahaha you nailed it! That’s what I was thinking in my head the whole time, I would definitely go out with the guy on the far right with the flannel, not the fresh n fit douche
@ 3:44 , i agree comepletely. I had that same tought as well when watching it first, that if someone went upto greg and told him or body shamed and stuff about him doing roid s and how it was unhealthy, i dont think it would have made him stop. But i also think about whether there is a possiility no one said anything and that's why he kept doing it as well? Like what if he only got postive feedback from it rather than any negative ones, you knw? Or even if he had neutral feedback from it, maybe he would have been more receptive to the intervention?
The fact that a lot of people in that comment section have a problem with the way Myron says things instead of what he said is crazy. A lot of people have never heard the truth in its rawest form so they’ll take it as rudeness or disrespect in some cases.
Word! Women and femboys.
No there's raw and there's dickish behavior. Zero empathy is not the most efficient way of communication
It's not the truth in its rawest form. It lacks all nuance and current studies showing the complexity of the obesity epidemic. Shaming people does not work. Making people hate themselves does not work. Giving support, understanding why certain things are a struggle for some people more than other, and giving people grace are what works.
Myron is misogynistic dickwad
Myrons presence discredited the whole production💀
I loved this!
Holy smokes, Zack ur an actual gem. I swear to god ur middle path thinking is something i cant believe isnt more prevalent. U can no joke see ur brian contemplating everything. Imma start yellin "YESSS" evertime i hear a good point. Fk the haters
Ozempic is made by the same company that sells insulin bro. They win either way. 😂
Cigarette companies sell smoking cessation tools. The same pharmaceutical company that peddles opiates sells suboxone for opiate withdrawal. Really, it’s corporate interests that are behind the rise in obesity rates anyway. They don’t care that their junk food is killing people as long as they make money.
The same company has stock in Kellogg’s .. boom it’s all about the money
Interesting that Jubilee already did a "Middle Ground" version of this just two years ago (called Can "Fat" and "Fit" Influencers Find Common Ground?) - they obviously know what they're doing with the bait (Buzzfeed-esque content). In any case, a collab video with Eric Janicki seems like it'd be fun (and educational), hoping it appears at some point in the future!
I don’t know but I find it disturbing how many people act like they have no control over their weight. Every time I go out I’m shocked at how many overweight or obese people I see - well
Over half .. 90% of it comes down to calories in and out and exercise .
I actually think exercise has little to do with it , it’s 100 percent what you eat .. you can change your body with weights but body fat 100 percent is food related
@@Kwildcat13some bad foods just tastes too good!!!
yea no shot in hell greg wouldve quit bodybuilding
The world has gone to such a "nuance" extreme that someone who tells the truth like an asshole is exactly what we need. People criticizing Myron are coping hard trying to virtue signal.
No bitches
Stating your own opinion as fact and refusing to listen shows a serious lack of mental capacity. He sounds unintelligent and is quite frankly off putting
I think body positivity should be viewed separately from your value as a person. Your body is a vessel. It isn't what your moral compass is or the words you say to people. Your personality and morals is where your value as a human is. Value yourself as a human and have the respect for your body to make healthy choices. Accept your body in this moment but respect it to want to do better for it.
Yo! Would be super interested to see you, Dylan, Maddison, and whoever else in your circle chat through this video and these topics
the amount of times I said "Myron stop speaking for women" while watching this the first time, I wish I had a counter going
Nah he shouldn’t even speak for men or an animal or…. He should just shut up
I don't know why people complicate attraction this much....
Women mostly value confidence, charisma, and competence - every trait comes back to provide/protect ---> survival
Men mostly value youth (fertility), femininity (gentle, soft, caregiver etc), looks (ties into fertility a lot too) - every trait comes down to: "Can you further my bloodline?" ---> indirect survival
You nailed it!
Greg said "why do do they care so little about their health that they can do this. Knowing that it can take 20, 30, 40 years off their life. I just can't imagine not wanting to live that badly.", but he also says he was on steroids for like 10 years, knowing full well that it can kill him. Even with the prior life experience, he can't understand anything that isn't inherently himself. That is the main issue here with a lot of people, lack of genuine empathy.
Nah bro you nailed it too, and you just gained a sub
Bro looks like pedro pascal
How is fat or overweight being unacceptable defined though? Many strongman and powerlifting athletes are. Does it become more socially acceptable when you have a goal that fits those needs?
As a fat guys it's quite simple, I have an eating disorder. I overate because it brought comfort to a life I hated since I was 13. Overeating was a coping mechanism for depression and suicidal tendencies. Also it doesn't help that so much of our food has a bounch of sugar in it, especially in America.
I would love to see you working out with Eric, Zach. He workouts at the Zoo and uses super ROM (high reps/hypertrophy ofc), lowkey wanna see him taking you through a leg workout, and he would be down for it fs.
I love that Myron doesn’t let people slide with bs excuses. Still an asshole, and goes way off the rails in the full interview though lol.
For sure Zack slays in Austin.
Shouting out James Smith is a big win, dudes the goat of the fitness industry
15:02 100% agree, I recently went do a dexa scan and notice I have 32% body fat, since I stopped training ever since I got injuried during a skiing accident. It was labeled as "obese", first thought came to my mind the Health Department needs to recatogrize or at least have more level of catogrization. I am only 5'6, 145lb, and labelled as obese. If it was another person similar body type as me, but never had any knowledge in training, this person might freak out and start thinking they are dying.
If the percentage is true than yes you are obese
I actually take both Zacks and Myrons sides.
I do enjoy watching the FandF podcast becsuse its entertaining when i do house chores but i myself am not a man who needs the advice like other lost men do... However...there are things myron stands on that i agree with and other things i cant. And why? Because he was a late bloomer and i was an early bloomer. I was a fat kid and got in shape by 15 years old and started banging broads...he bloomed later in life. The difference is...hes got the money to afford to have his very strict views. Especially about multipke women etc. So there is alot i disagree with...
But when it comes to black and white about being fat or not... you CANNOT leave room for grey areas cause thats where the excuses hide
If you are fat and look in the mirror and say...IM SICK OF BEING FAT NO MORE...youll make a chnage. But when you say...but women like dad bods...im not that fat...blah blah... you'll probably never be happy. So you really have to cut the fucking bullshit and either make a chnage or not. So...
Myron has an all or nothing appraoch to fitness. But his all or nothing approach to other things isnt something i can agree with. But whatever. Men need someone to tell them the absolute honest truth.
You missed Erick's answer to the "abuse" question. Very interesting response.
a collab with Eric is a video I would DEFINITELY watch!
Myron is built like every 21 year old dude I know, nothing wrong with it, but shaming people for how they look when you have, literally, no muscle development beyond high school is hilarious
People hate Myron but none has said he was wrong lol
Being low BF at 10% is not important for being attractive. But being fit won’t help. 15-20%. Health is important.
Myron triggering delusional people never gets old .
"opposing side of Myron...you know what i mean..."
I know exactly what you mean, you are describing the tendency of humans to always go to the extreme. Recognising valid points on either side/all sides is an ability that's seemingly vanishing very quickly.
The only disagreement i had was the comparison to Greg doing Steroids to a person being obese. Greg was trying to gain fame, money, and success with his abuse whereas the other side is just choosing to do least effort. You cant just take Steroids and istantly you are a bodybuilder.
Most of these are similar in that in your youth is where you make these mistakes because you dont care about the future.
always love the random game music.
Eric is so chill!
Thank you😄
